Dumpster House Fire Vinyl Figure by Daniel Danger x 100% Soft

The Blot was pumped to learn that 100% Soft was collaborating with acclaimed illustrator, printmaker and grilled cheese lover Daniel Danger on a new Artist Edition Dumpster Fire!!! Check out the Dumpster House Fire vinyl figure which reimagines 100% Soft’s iconic character in Daniel Danger’s unique art style. This collab truly blows my mind, and now I can’t stop thinking about what other Artist Edition Dumpster Fires could be in the works!

As 100% Soft explained, “I have been a fan of Daniel’s excruciatingly detailed work for a long time and I wanted to see what his version of our classic lil Dumpster Fire would look like and he did not disappoint. Danger transformed the Dumpster Fire into a completely reimagined concept of a haunted house on fire, cast in blue vinyl and featuring a hidden figure embedded in the resin flame. To celebrate, our friends at Static Medium were happy to host us for a pop-up to release this limited edition figure!”

This limited edition Dumpster Fire vinyl figure is based on 100% Soft’s Dumpster Fire GIF and pin, and measure 3.5” x 3.5” x 2.75”. Dumpster House Fire Vinyl Figure by Daniel Danger x 100% Soft will first go on sale at the figure’s release party from 11am-1pm PT on Saturday, May 28th, at Static Medium in Downtown Los Angeles (144 S Anderson St, Los Angeles, CA 90033). Both artists will be in attendance singing this amazing new figure.

There will also be one off custom hand painted/splattered Dumpster House Fire figures by Danger that will only be available at the event. And Static Medium is releasing an exclusive Danger Dumpster House Fire 12”x12” print to commemorate the event. If you can’t make it to the release party, the regular edition of the toy will go up for sale after the event at a later date.

MondoCon 2019 Exclusive Jurassic Park “Ghanaian Mobile Cinema” Print by Salvation x Deadly Prey Gallery x Static Medium

Static Medium has partnered up with the one and only Deadly Prey Gallery to reproduce epic Jurassic Park movie poster by artist Salvation as both a MondoCon 2019 Exclusive Print (limited to just 25 pieces) and the original painting, which was painted on the back of flour sacks. Both will be available at Static Medium’s MondoCon 5 booth. This style of poster was once the product of a much larger industry known as the “Ghanaian Mobile Cinema”. This business started in the late 1980’s when artistic industrious groups of people formed video clubs. With a television, VCR, VHS tapes, and a portable generator they’d travel throughout Ghana setting up make-shift screening areas in villages void of electricity.

Mobile cinema operators found a need to set their products apart, so an advertising motif came into play. With no affordable access to printing, the hand-painted movie poster was the most logical advertising vehicle. Skilled local artists were now part of this growing entertainment industry in Ghana, and they surely brought their own distinct touch to each film they were called upon to promote. By sewing together two used flour sacks, a perfect sized canvas for a movie poster was created. Although the heyday of the “Ghanaian Mobile Cinema” is no longer, Deadly Prey Gallery continues to work with some original artists in Ghana to commission new posters. Deadly Prey ensures a majority of all sales goes directly to the artists in Ghana.

Mike Mitchell’s MondoCon 2019 Exclusives!

Fan favorite artist Mike Mitchell will be attending MondoCon 5 this weekend, and he will be releasing a number of adorable new prints exclusively at Static Medium’s booth! So far, Sir Mitchell has unveiled two MondoCon 2019 exclusives – a beautiful black and orange flycatcher fat bird and an adorable Halloween print featuring a pumpkin guy and a cat, entitled Jackie I (11"x14" LE250). These prints are sure to go quickly, so be sure to head over to Static Medium’s booth ASAP on Saturday.

MondoCon 2016 Exclusive Art Screen Print by Kilian Eng x Static Medium
