TheBlotSays.com Celebrates Its 10 Year Anniversary!!!

It’s hard to believe 10 years ago this very week The Blot first started blogging!!! I had no idea back then what The Blot Says… would turn into, or even if it would last a month – much less 10 years! I can honestly say The Blot Says wouldn’t still be around if it wasn’t for you: my friends, readers, followers, creatives, contributors and everyone else in between. So thanks to all of you for sticking with me for all these years!

The Blot had a lot of plans for this year to celebrate The Blot Says’ 10th Anniversary, but most of them got scrapped, or put on hold, when my house flooded with two feet of water a few weeks ago thanks to Hurricane Harvey. It’s been a really trying time for me and my family down here in Houston, but we are doing our best to get back to some normalcy of life. That’s a big reason why my  blogging has been more sporadic as of late. However, I’m still hoping to see some of those anniversary celebration plans come to fruition over the next 12 months. In the meantime, you’ll notice I’ve updated our banners and logos on the website and across my social media platforms to celebrate TheBlotSays.com’s 10th Birthday. So please celebrate with me tonight in your own special way, and here’s to 10 more years!

The Blot Says Joins Facebook!

A couple of weeks ago The Blot finally bit the bullet and started an official TheBlotSays.com Facebook page! So for my last post of 2013 I thought I’d officially announce the new FB page here on the blog. If Facebook’s your thing (or even if it isn’t), please take a minute to support The Blot Says by liking us here!!!

This is just another great way to make sure you never miss a blog post from The Blot on the latest toy release, comic book movie poster or any other kind of pop culture goodness that catches my eye. I even added a little Facebook widget to the left side of the blog ← where you can easily find The Blot Says Facebook page and “like” us. Happy New Year everyone and see you in 2014!!!

Johnny Cupcakes “Inked Crossbones” T-Shirt

The Blot’s jaw hit the ground on Friday when I saw this awesome ink blot design from Johnny Cupcakes! I know I had nothing to do with it, but I’m just going to pretend this is the first unofficial crossover between The Blot Says and Johnny Cupcakes. When it comes to ink blot designs, this “Inked Crossbones” t-shirt is pretty perfect!

TheBlotSays.com Turns 4 Today!!!

Wow, I have now been blogging for four straight years. Just typing that blows my mind! Where has the time gone? It’s amazing to think how much my life has changed since I first started The Blot Says… back in late 2007. Since that time I’ve held multiple jobs, gotten married and even bought a house! Somehow over that short period of time I actually became an adult. Looking back at all those old posts now makes me realize how much The Blot Says… has changed over the years. But as my opinions and interests evolve, so too does the blog. I guess that’s just the natural progression of things.

Anyway, I just wanted to say thank you to all my new found friends, readers and supporters who I’ve met over the years through blogging for sharing in this incredible experience. I’ve met so many amazingly talented and passionate people through our shared interests and fandom, and you have all definitely influenced TheBlotSays.com in some form or fashion. And so, whether you’re a long time reader of TheBlotSays.com or some who just stumbled upon my site recently, thank you for coming along for the ride! Here’s to four more years of ramblings from The Blot…

Just Married!

In honor of my tying the knot on Saturday night, The Blot’s taking the day off from blogging. Aly and I had an amazing weekend with family and friends, and I can’t believe it’s all over. It’s amazing how a year of planning can be over in the blink of an eye…but I’m sure we’ll cherish the memories for the rest of our lives. Thanks to everyone for all the well wishes and I’ll see you all back here at TheBlotSays.com on Tuesday!

Welcome to the new TheBlotSays.com!

If you visited The Blot Says… this weekend then you probably noticed some big changes to the website! Not only have I given the site a major facelift, but I finally bit the bullet and purchased TheBlotSays.com. Now you no longer have to type out that annoying extra long blogspot URL. Don’t worry though, all of The Blot Says…’ old links and RSS feeds still work and aren’t going anywhere, but feel free to update your bookmarks to my new and improved domain name.


I had been contemplating redesigning the website for a while now, and knowing the rest of 2010 was booked with wedding events, it was finally now or never. The new website is still a “work in progress,” but I really just wanted to get rid of that generic blog look to the site. It’s not there yet, but hopefully over the next few weeks it’ll be looking more and more like a traditional website.

If there are any techies out there who have suggestions on additional tweaks I can make to The Blot Says… (like how to speed up the site’s load time) please shoot me an email! I can definitely use all the help I can get. Thanks again for reading my humble little blog!

The Blot Says… Turns 2!

Your eyes aren’t deceiving you! Just a little over two years ago this very day The Blot came up with the idea to start a blog where I could talk ramble on about all things pop culture, and The Blot Says… was born. TBS’ anniversary was actually last week, but The Blot was so busy I totally forgot! Oh well...I can’t remember everything!


I wanted to take this time to thank all the readers of The Blot Says… for your continued support over the past two years. The website’s readership has continued to grow each and every month, and I couldn’t have done it without you! In honor of The Blot Says…’ two year anniversary, please spread the word of my little blog and tell all your friends to stop by and join in on all the fun. The Blot Says… Turns One Today!

Today, October 15th, 2008, is the 1 Year Anniversary of The Blot Says… and I really can’t believe it’s already been a year since I decided to start this blog. The site has come a long way in a short amount of time and I’d like to thank all of the readers out there who have followed The Blot over these past 12 months.


I’m happy to say our readership has been steadily increasing throughout the year, which means not only are people finding the site but are enjoying it enough to come back. So thanks to everyone for stopping by and here’s to year #2!


I’m thinking about adding to or changing up the layout of The Blot Says… in honor of the site’s first anniversary, so when I get some time we'll see what I can come up with.

The Blot Says… Reaches Its 500th Post

I can’t lie, this is actually post number 502. The 500th post was on Friday and I didn’t even realize it! For some reason I thought I wasn’t going to hit my 500th post until this week. I guess I blogged more last week than I realized. Regardless I missed the big 5-0-0 and I wanted I’d bring attention to The Blot’s big milestone.

In all honesty, I thought it would take me a long longer to reach this point than it has. I’ve been blogging for less than a year and, well, here we are. In honor of my 500th post check out this awesome painted cover that came out last month by Alex Ross for issue #500 of one of my favorite comics of all time, Uncanny X-Men:

The Blot Says... Celebrates Hitting Post 100!

Who knew just a few months ago that The Blot Says… would already be hitting post #100 this early into 2008! The Blot honestly thought it would take him a lot longer than this to hit this posting milestone, but I think the site has hit its stride over the past two months and posting everyday hasn't been near as laborious as I thought it might be at first. So here's to the first 100 posts!
