Morgan Phillips “Jerk of Art” Bootleg Resin Action Figure by Sucklord

If you haven’t watched this week’s episode of Bravo’s Work of Art then stop reading now! *SPOILER ALERT* Ok, that’s the only warning you’re getting…

Morgan Phillips “Jerk of Art: The World’s Worst Artist” Bootleg Resin Action Figure by The Sucklord

If you have seen last night’s episode of Work of Art then you know the Sucklord was eliminated. The Blot was really pulling for Morgan to bring home the top prize, but I think it was pretty apparent early on that at least one of the judges did not care for his style of art. While I wanted Sucklord to go far, at least now I can stop watching Work of Art! Personally, I just don’t see how you can compare and judge artwork from 15 different mediums and say one is superior to the others.  Isn't art subjective?  Because of this I found myself really disliking the show, and found Sucklord to be the only reason to keep tuning in week after week. He was far and away the star of Work of Art Season 2.

Well now that the show is over, Sucklord can go back to making toys! And of course he’s got a crazy awesome figure all lined up to commemorate his elimination from Work of Art. Check out the Morgan Phillips “Jerk of Art: The World’s Worst Artist” bootleg resin action figure by the Sucklord featuring a Charlie Brown homage design on the blister pack. This figure’s tag line really sums up the Sucklord’s experience on Work of Art: “Yeah sure, he's a great guy after all, but his artwork Sucks. Put the helmet back on asshole!”

Look for the Morgan Phillips bootleg action figure to go on sale sometime soon on the Suckadelic online store.

Hellboy Invades NBC - New Hellboy II Television Promo Ads

Hellboy II: The Golden Army - Ron Perlman as HellboyTonight at midnight marks the official release of Hellboy II: The Golden Army and I’m already scoping out movie times to try and avoid the crazy opening weekend crowds that come with every new movie that debuts over the summer. Universal, who is producing and distributing Hellboy II, has come up with some really creative television promotional advertisements for the movie and The Blot can’t get enough of them.

NBC/Universal logoA few years ago NBC and Universal merged to create the aptly named NBC/Universal, so it should come as no surprise that Universal would utilize the NBC family of networks to promote their upcoming movies. First it was a promo ad involving Hellboy on Bravo’s Inside the Actors Studio (which you can see here), and then on Sunday I saw a USA Network “Characters Welcomed” ad that featured Hellboy. Now the internet is abuzz with new Hellboy II promo ads featuring two of NBC’s most popular freshmen shows, Chuck and American Gladiators.

I don’t know who came up with the idea to have Hellboy interact with other properties’ characters, but it really is ingenious. The first video below features Hellboy playing video games with Chuck’s Zachary Levi (a.k.a Chuck Bartowski) and the second shows Hellboy visiting the set of American Gladiators where he runs into Gladiator Wolf (played by Hollywood Yates). There’s also a great retro “The More You Know” public service announcement starring Hellboy. I’m hoping there are a few more crossovers out there, but in the mean time check out these three new NBC Hellboy II TV promo ads below:
