On Saturday, June 13th, the Hope Gallery will be hosting “Calaverita Chaos,” the first ever Calaverita group custom art show featuring The Beast Brothers popular Calaverita resin skulls! In conjunction with the show, Hope Gallery will be releasing a limited edition Glow in the Dark Calaverita cast in soft Japanese vinyl and featuring black highlights! Limited to just 30 numbered pieces, these 4” glowing skulls by The Beast Brothers will go on sale at opening night of the show, with any remaining pieces made available to the general public at 1pm EST on Monday, July 15th, at the Hope Gallery online store for $70 each.

I’m a HUGE sucker for purple and yellow colorways, and this Spring Calaverita is a beauty. Now if only I can score one before they sell out!

Gold & Silver New Year Calaverita Vinyl Figures by The Beast Brothers

The Beast Brothers ended 2012 with a surprise release of their popular Calaverita Sofubi vinyl figures! What’s really great about the New Year Calaverita is it’s actually two metallic colorways. Each shiny 5” soft vinyl figure comes hand painted in either Gold or Silver. Each version is limited to just 13 pieces and retailed for $70 exclusively at The Beast Brothers’ online store. Unfortunately, these sold out almost instantly upon release. The Blot can’t wait to hear what everyone thinks of these once they start getting in collectors’ hands. From the pics I’ve seen they look fantastic.

The second colorway of The Beast Brothers’ popular vinyl Calaverita dropped today and it’s a beauty!!! This marks the figure’s first wide release, and because of that has an open edition so everyone can add this amazing figure to their collection! Made from soft Japanese vinyl (aka sofubi), the Unpainted Black Calaverita stands 6” tall, comes packaged in a clear bag with a header card and can be purchased exclusively at The Beast Brothers online store for $60. The Blot loves this figure, and I can’t wait to see what other colorways The Beast Brothers have coming out! These will definitely make an awesome addition to everyone’s collection.

STGCC Exclusive Unpainted Red Calaverita Roja Vinyl Skull by The Beast Brothers

As it turns out, a few of those sick looking Calaverita skulls made from soft Japanese vinyl (aka Sofubi) that The Beast Brothers debuted at STGCC 2012 a few weeks ago will be showing up for sale in The Beast Brothers’ online store!!! These 6” figures are the first of a new line of vinyl figures The Beast Brothers will be releasing and The Blot can’t wait to get my hands on one. The Singapore Toys, Games and Comic Convention 2012 Exclusive Calaverita Roja features unpainted red vinyl, has a limited edition run size of just 50 pieces and retails for $60 each. While The Blot doesn’t know when these bad boys are going on sale, I recommend stalking The Beast Brothers’ online store immediately (seriously, like now)!

First Look: Calaverita Vinyl Figure by The Beast Brothers

Last weekend at the Singapore Toy, Game and Comic Convention The Beast Brothers debuted an all new version of their popular Calaverita figure! However, instead of the standard fiberglass skull that The Beast Brothers have released over the past year, this version will be produced in soft Japanese vinyl. How freaking cool is that!?! From the photos The Beast Brothers have posted on Instagram this unpainted red vinyl Calaverita looks like an exact replica of their 6.5”fiberglass skulls.

While The Blot’s never owned a sofubi skull, I know a lot of collectors that are crazy about them. Add in The Beast Brothers’ signature esthetic and these figures will be flying off the shelf! I just can’t wait to see what kind of paint and spray they use on these. Hopefully we’ll see wide release on these soon!
