A New Mecha Dunny 3” Vinyl Figure Colorway by Frank Kozik x Kidrobot!

China Wonder Festival Exclusive Mecha Dunny 3” Vinyl Figure by Frank Kozik x Kidrobot

Frank Kozik’s popular Mecha Dunny 3” vinyl figure is back with an all new, super limited colorway! The Mecha Dunny is a sculpted take on the classic Dunny shape that first debuted way back in 2008 as part of Kidrobot’s iconic Dunny Series 5. This is just the latest colorway in pop artist and Kidrobot Creative Director Frank Kozik’s popular Mecha Dunny series. Are you ready for battle like the Mecha Dunny!?!

After debuting at the inaugural China Wonder Festival earlier this month, this new Mecha Dunny 3” vinyl figure by Frank Kozik is now available online at Kidrobot.com for just $14.99. But act fast, because only 300 pieces are available (out of a total limited edition run size of 1,000 figures).

“Stealth” Mecha Dunny 8” Vinyl Figure by Frank Kozik x Kidrobot

Stealth Mecha Dunny 8” Vinyl Figure by Frank Kozik x Kidrobot

Frank Kozik's Mecha Dunny is back and preparing for battle with an all new colorway! It’s hard to believe it’s been four years since Kidrobot first released Frank Kozik’s Mecha Dunny design as an 8” vinyl figure, and even more improbable that KR’s re-releasing this popular figure with a striking red and yellow “Stealth” colorway. Scheduled to hit store shelves later this week, you can pre-order the Stealth Mecha Dunny 8” vinyl figure now at Entertainment Earth for $74.99 each here. Get one before it gets you!

Green 8” Mecha Dunny by Frank Kozik

Kidrobot - Mecha Dunny MDA1 Tactical Assault Unit 8 Inch Dunny Vinyl Figure by Frank Kozik

Kidrobot’s release of Frank Kozik’s new 8” MechaDunny has to be one of the most secretive releases of all time. The Blot still doesn’t really understand what’s going on. Evidently these just show up in stores at a random day and time? I’m not saying we need to know everything, but a little info goes a long way! The second colorwy of Kozik’s MechaDunny, entitled Model MDA1 Tactical Assault Unit, has been hitting stores recently and it looks like this one is going to be impossible to get!

With a limited edition run size of just 300 pieces and sporadic drops, how do you even find one? I personally really like the green camouflaged look, but I’ve seen a few people comment that the color scheme doesn’t fit easily in their collections. Either way, expect to pay some big bucks to add this to your collection if you aren’t able to find it out in the wild.

First Look: Silver 8" Mecha Dunny by Frank Kozik

First Look: Silver Mecha 8” Dunny & Screen Print Set by Frank Kozik

Wow, four years after the release of Dunny Series 5 Kidrobot is re-releasing Frank Kozik’s popular MechaDunny design as an 8” figure. As you may remember, the 3” MechaDunny was the S5’s rarest design, and a must have for both Kozik and Dunny collectors. The Blot was fortunate to pull one at my local Series 5 release party and it’s a pretty sweet figure. Now Kidrobot is teaming up with Frank Kozik once again to release an 8” MechaDunny!

First Look: Silver Mecha 8” Dunny by Frank Kozik

Honestly, it amazes me that after years of Kidrobot fans begging for 8” versions of their favorite 3” Dunnys KR is finally giving in with three “blown up” versions of classic 3” Dunnys all released within a few months of each other (Gold King, Silver King, Woe’s Panda and MechaDunny). I really expected this trend to kick off after Kidrobot released Luke Chueh’s 8” Blood and Fuzz Dunny in 2010, but sadly that never happened. I know some will say why reproduce designs when there are so many great deserving artists out there, but I don’t see any problem with it so long as it doesn’t dominate KR’s releases. I also wouldn’t mind a little updating of the designs ala Doktor A’s Rupture Ironclad Decimator Dunny.

First Look: Silver Mecha 8” Dunny Screen Print by Frank Kozik

The 8” Mecha Dunny was unveiled last week through a series of tweets by Kozik. Then yesterday Frank released 111 sets of the 8” Silver Mecha Dunnys with a limited edition 7”x9” screen print. Each figure and print came signed and numbers by Kozik with matching numbers. While I don’t know much about this release, I hear more of these awesome figures will be on sale soon! And since Kozik kept referring to them as the “Silver Mecha Dunny” I assume we’ll be seeing a second colorway of the design released as well.

Huck Gee - The Moonrise Rooftops Print and AP 3 Inch Golden Ticket Dunny

As a companion piece to the Sunset Rooftops print released two weeks ago, the Moonrise Rooftops print features Huck Gee character Raku and takes place just a few hours after we last saw the Red Hand Gang and the Golden Claw. All that is left is a trail of destruction across the city’s rooftops and the city guard’s air division is out in full force hunting down the fugitives. Something is afoot and Raku knows it.

(click on the photo above for a more detailed look)

The Moonrise Rooftops print, another beautiful addition to the Gold Life series, is gold embossed, numbered and signed with a limited edition print run of 80 pieces. Each print is printed on thick 12”x24” (plus 1” border on all sides) 100% cotton duck canvas (409gsm). Similarly priced to the Sunset Rooftops print at $80 each, The Blot wishes everyone good luck at trying to get one of these very cool prints when they go on sale Friday, October 31st at Noon PDT at Huck Gee’s eBay store.

Also going on sale at the same date and time as the print is Huck’s original Golden Ticket Dunnys Artist Proofs from Series 5. Due to a Kidrobot mishap, the original Golden Ticket 3” Dunnys were distributed with the regular series Dunnys, so a new colorway is in the works for everyone who was lucky enough to find a S5 Golden Ticket. For the rest of us hoping to get one of the original Grandfather Dunnys here is your best shot!

Kidrobot - Original Series 5 Golden Ticket Dunny - The Grandfather Dunny by Huck Gee
There are 25 APs of the Grandfather “original Golden Ticket” Dunnys and each comes signed and numbered. If your internet is quick enough to get one, you can purchase a GT AP for $100 each.

Amanda Visell - Kidrobot Exclusive Moonshine Print

Pink Elephant featuring Drunky McSkunky by Amanda VisellOne of The Blot’s newest art addictions is work by Los Angeles based artist Amanda Visell. I just can’t get enough of her amazing work! I first learned Visell earlier this year when she released the ridiculously awesome Pink Elephant featuring Drunky McSkunky. Since then Amanda has been on fire with new production pieces, prints and original custom figures.

Kidrobot - Series 5 Dunny by Amanda VisellSadly, the only Visell piece I own is her Series 5 Dunny. But it’s pretty great in its own right. I am sharing all of this because last week Ms. Visell released a very cool Kidrobot exclusive new glicee. The Moonshine Print is limited to just 50 pieces and is currently still available at Kidrobot’s online store. This print is a great example of Visell’s cartoony, abstract style that The Blot loves so much.

So here is your chance to add a wonderful piece of Amanda Visell artwork to your collection, but act quickly. Because at $70.00 each, this limited edition Kidrobot exclusive Moonshine print is sure to be selling out any day now.

Kidrobot's Dunny Series 5 Hits Stores World Wide Today

The official release of Kidrobot’s Dunny Series 5 is finally here. Have you bought your blind boxes or cases yet? It’s ok if you haven’t, The Blot hasn’t either. But, I will have by tonight when I head down to Domy Books, my local designer vinyl toy and book store, for their official Dunny Series 5 release party.

Kidrobot - Dunny Series 5
In the meantime, I wanted to pass along these cool photos of the entire 19 figure set, front and back. This is one of the best Series Kidrobot has released in a long time and I’m hard pressed to pick a favorite (or a least favorite for that matter). Here’s hoping I find a Huck or Kozik figure in one of my blind boxes tonight!

Kidrobot - Dunny Series 5 Vinyl Figures by MAD and Clutter

Kidrobot - Dunny Series 5
Kidrobot - MAD Agent Series 5 Dunny Promo ArtNow that Dunny Series 5 has been officially announced, artists are starting to leak their designs for Kidrobot’s latest designer vinyl mini-figure series. Today The Blot is excited to share with you two more very cool designs slated to be included in this newest series of Dunnys set to be released on September 4th. The first figure is from one of The Blot’s favorite artists, Kansas City designer MAD (you may recognize his design work on Upper Deck’s line of All-Star Vinyl figures). His secret agent inspired Dunny has some of the best accessories ever. I’m really digging MAD’s newest vinyl figure.

Then comes a pirate themed Dunny from the artists of Clutter Magazine. I love the creativity of the pink one-eyed pirate’s peg leg ear. With pictures of these two new Dunnys hitting the web, we now have seen 10 of the 19 designs for Series 5. I’m just dying to see what Huck’s ultra limited edition Golden Ticket Dunny will look like.

Kidrobot’s Dunny Series 5 Drops Next Month

The Blot was really starting to lose interest in Kidrobot 3 inch figures after the disappointing designs of their last few releases, and then Kidrobot dropped the news that Dunny Series 5 would be hitting shelves on September 4th. They have really compiled an all-star lineup of artists for Series 5, and from this latest photo of designs my interest in 3” figures has been fully restored. I know a lot of fans had been complaining that Kidrobot was not getting some of the biggest artists in the genre to work on their flagship 3" Dunny line, but I think Kidrobot has finally shut up their critics with this Series' stellar lineup.

Kidrobot - Dunny Series 5
Dunny Series 5 will include 19 all new designs and will have 600 randomly inserted Golden Tickets redeemable for a sure to be extremely valuable 3 inch Huck Gee Dunny. Artists taking part in Dunny Series 5 include Amanda Visell, Aya Kakeda, Clutter, Devilrobots, Dirty Donny, Frank Kozik, Huck Gee, JMGS//Jellymoon, Jesse LeDoux, JK5, Junko Mizuno, Kathie Olivas, MAD, Mad Barbarians, MISHKA, Reach, Sneaky Raccoon, Steven Harrington and TOOFLY.

Kidrobot - Dunny Series 5 Figures
I don’t know about you guys but I’ve been really digging Amanda Visell’s work, especially her Drunky McSkunky Pink Elephant, so I was uber excited to see she’d finally be designing a Dunny. You can see her contribution to the Series in the top picture. It’s the grey elephant on the right and looks great. I’m glad to see her unique style has translated really well to the Dunny platform. As always, Dunny Series 5 will be blind boxed and sell for $6.95 each.
