Earth Wolf Major Meltdown Edition & Kandy Kaiju Carlton Strawberry Edition Soft Vinyl Figures by Super7

Today, Super7 surprised its fans with two Valentine’s Day themed sofubi releases, including a brand new figure!!! When was the last time S7 released a new, original character in soft Japanese vinyl? Check out the newest Kandy Kaiju, Carlton! He’s a soft-serve treat that is sweet enough to eat! Designed by Super7’s Brian Flynn, the 3” Strawberry Carlton ($30) is cast in pastel pink soft Japanese vinyl, with frosty-white detailing in a tan wafer cone.

Super7 has also released this epic Major Meltdown Earth Wolf sofubi figure, which was designed by Super7’s Josh Herbolsheimer.  The latest 10” tall Earth Wolf (Major Meltdown) Soft Japanese Vinyl Figure ($125) is cast in a kaleidoscope of colors, accented with hints of gold detail. Super7 Designer Con 2023 Exclusive Sofubi Figures with Collabs with Mishka & Leecifer!

Super7 will be at Designer Con 2023 this weekend where they will be releasing some mind blowing new colorways of some old S7 Japanese Vinyl friends! Super7 is bringing back their beloved sofubi figures in a big way at DCon with these limited edition releases – Blazing Pink Rose Vampire and Ghost of Earth Wolf by Joshua Herbolsheimer, Blazing Pink Honoo by Leecifer, and Swirling Void Ooze Bat (which is the figure’s first release in almost a decade!!!). Super7 will be at the inaugural Five Points Festival this weekend in New York City and they’re bringing with them some epic vinyl figure exclusives! One of those is the new Fungus Wolf by Joshua Herbolsheimer. The Earth Wolf has decayed…and Fungus Wolf is born! The Mysterious Mold Fungus Wolf continues slowly down the path of destiny, gradually growing back into the Earth.

“Blasted” Earth Wolf Vinyl Figure by Josh Herbolsheimer

Has The Blot ever mentioned how much I love the craziness swirling around inside Josh Herbolsheimer’s head!?! Next week Super7 will be releasing a stunning new colorway of Joshua’s Earth Wolf vinyl figure, and its backstory is even more wonderous than the figure itself: “Once upon a time, there was a thing called Earth Wolf. He lived and un-died in a magic forest full of things and so forth, until one day he was wandering around with his mind also wandering around, walked smack into a pretty sunset, and got it all over himself. Being an outdoorsy sort, he didn’t really worry too much about cleaning up afterwards. And so, forever blasted by the colors, he lived or died the rest of his days doing the things that an Earth Wolf do, the end.”

DCon Exclusive “Marbled Mystic” Earth Wolf & “Reptilian Rage” Caveman Dinosaur by Josh Herbolsheimer & Super7

Super7 and Josh Herbolsheimer have two awesome swirled vinyl figures lined-up for release exclusively at Designer Con 2014! First up is the “Marbled Mystic” Earth Wolf 9” figure, which is cast in soft green and glow-in-the-dark swirled Japanese vinyl with metallic blue, purple, silver, gold and black sprays. Then there’s the adorable “Reptilian Rage” Caveman Dinosaur 4” figure, which is cast in mossy green and black marbled soft Japanese vinyl with baby blue, lavender, brown and cream colored sprays. SDCC 14 Exclusive “Polluted” Earth Wolf Vinyl Figure by Josh Herbolsheimer

Josh Herbolsheimer is bringing the heat to San Diego Comic-Con 2014 with three awesome Super7 releases! The Blot’s favorite Josh Herbolsheimer vinyl figure (after the Rose Vampire of course) is definitely the amazing Earth Wolf. What’s great about this piece is how perfectly it translates Josh’s signature art style into a 3D sofubi figure. While I don’t know too much about the San Diego Comic-Con 2014 Exclusive “Polluted” Earth Wolf, this 9” figure is a beauty! From the picture seen here it looks like it’s been cast in a light grey soft Japanese vinyl with blue, green, orange, yellow and red sprays. Collectors can pick up this pollution filled monster exclusively at the Super7 SDCC booth #4945 for $95.

SDCC 2011 Exclusive Unpainted GID Earth Wolf by Josh Herbolsheimer

Super7 will be teaming up with Medicom at San Diego Comic-Con 2011 for the very first US release of Josh Herbolsheimer’s Earth Wolf! This figure is seriously incredible, and The Blot will never turn down the opportunity to buy cool glow in the dark toys! I love Josh’s unique art style, and Medicom has done an incredible job translating his Earth Wolf paintings into a 3D form. If you missed out on the original Earth Wolf release, here is your chance to finally add one to your collection! Medicom Project 1/6 Exclusive Earth Wolf Vinyl Figure by Josh Herbolsheimer

Medicom finally announced what we’ve known for a while, that the Japanese toy company will be releasing a 10” vinyl figure of Josh Herbolsheimer’s Earth Wolf! The Blot’s a huge fan of Josh’s artwork, and his Rose Vampire from Super7 is one of my all time favorite vinyl figures, so you know I’ve been really looking forward to seeing the final painted version of this intricate character. I think Medicom did a great job transforming Josh’s painting into a 3D form, and I really like the all of the little details on the Earth Wolf's head and chest.

The Project 1/6 Exclusive Earth Wolf vinyl figure is currently available for pre-order directly from Medicom here for $115, and is scheduled to ship in July 2011. Get one while you can!

Earth Wolf Vinyl Figure Prototype by Josh Herbolsheimer & Medicom

There are some big things in the works for Super7’s own Josh Herbolsheimer. Brian Flynn announced on the Skullbrain forums that Josh, the creator of the Rose Vampire, and Medicom are collaborating on a new standard size figure, the Earth Wolf! As you can tell from Josh’s Earth Wolf painting above, this is a very intricate and exciting character that should translate very well to 3D form.
