Blade Runner Deckard Resin Figure by WheresChappell

The Blot can’t believe it, two WheresChappell releases in one weekend! For the UK’s second release this week, WheresChappell has created this epic Deckard resin figure based on Harrison Ford’s iconic character from Ridley Scott’s 1982 neo-noir science fiction film, Blade Runner. The WheresChappell’s version of Rick Deckard features the Replicant Detection Division police officer in soggy clothes and adidas officials.

Cowboys & Aliens Teaser Movie Poster #2 and Trailer

Cowboys & Aliens One Sheet Teaser Movie Poster #2

While we’re still over six months away from the premiere of Cowboys & Aliens, the film’s marketing is really starting to ramp up! First the official Cowboys & Aliens trailer was released a few weeks ago, and now a second C&A one sheet teaser movie poster has been unveiled. Strangely, both posters feature Daniel Craig with his face hidden. You’d think they’d want to start featuring their star’s steely gaze and piercing blue eyes. The Blot’s also hoping for a few character one sheet movie posters featuring Olivia Wilde (and maybe even Harrison Ford).

Cowboys & Aliens, directed by Jon Favreau, will premiere in the summer of 2011.

Cowboys & Aliens Teaser Movie Poster

The Blot’s never read the Cowboys & Aliens graphic novel, I’m nevertheless very excited for the upcoming live action movie adaptation if for no other reason than the film’s director and cast. The Cowboys & Aliens film is being directed by Jon Favreau and features a veritable who’s who of The Blot’s favorite actors, including Daniel Craig, Harrison Ford, Olivia Wilde, Sam Rockwell, Paul Dano, Keith Carradine and Walton Goggins. Cowboys & Aliens is shaping up to be the next big comic book based summer blockbuster!

Then again, it’s going to have some really stiff competition for that title next summer from a number of more “mainstream” comic book franchises. While Cowboys & Aliens is not scheduled for release until sometime during summer 2011, its very first trailer will be unveiled by Universal Studios tomorrow. So keep your eyes peeled on The Blot Says… tomorrow for the new Cowboys & Aliens trailer!

The New Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull Movie Poster

Here is the newest movie poster for Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Unlike the first movie poster (seen here) which was intricately painted by long-time Lucas collaborator Drew Struzan (Star Wars Episodes I-III&VI, the first three Indiana Jones films, the Back To The Future trilogy), this teaser poster is solely a photo of Harrison Ford’s silhouette sporting Indie’s trademark fedora and holding his classic bullwhip.

Dr. Jones! Dr. Jones!

Nothing gets The Blot more excited about a movie than the name Indiana Jones. How can a movie not be amazing when it combines two of the greatest minds in epic moving making, George Lucas and Steven Spielberg, with Han Solo himself, Harrison Ford. What pains me to no end is that it took almost 20 years since the last Indiana Jones installment for this movie to be made. I'm sure the special effects will be much better than in the first three movies, but I have to believe something will be missing after the prolonged layoff. If nothing else it probably means less screen time for Ford and more for Indy's son in the movie, Shia LaBeouf.

Here's the official first movie poster for Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull due out May 22, 2008.

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
I just pray this movie is better than the last time Lucas decided to revisit one of his storied franchises (Star Wars). Thankfully, Spielberg has had a much better track record in recent years for making entertaining movies.

And if you haven't been to Disneyland lately, there's a new ride, Indiana Jones Adventure, that's a must for any Indiana Jones fan. It was by far the best ride I went on in my trip there last week. Whatever you do, don't let the tremendously long line scare you off!
