Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull Screen Print by Matt Ferguson x Bottleneck Gallery

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull Screen Print by Matt Ferguson x Bottleneck Gallery

Although Bottleneck Gallery won’t be at New York Comic Con this year, they’re still celebrating NYCC 2023 with the release of some epic pop culture prints. Check out this fantastic new Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull Screen Print by Matt Ferguson! As BNG explained, “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is a movie that can ultimately be defined as FUN. Matt’s love for Indiana Jones is well-known, and we’re psyched by his approach to this poster by showcasing the unforgettable opening where Indy survives an atomic explosion by hiding in a refrigerator. Matt’s print perfectly embraces the series’ pulp roots!”

Indiana Jones Mighty Muggs Meet Their Doom

According to multiple sources from around the web, all of the Indiana Jones themed toy lines are coming to an end relatively soon. It sounds like all previously announced Indiana Jones Mighty Muggs waves have been canceled, but I am not sure if this also applies to the EE Exclusive Mighty Muggs figures or not.

Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones
Indiana Jones Action Figure - Indiana Jones with Whip Cracking ActionMost movie themed toy lines don’t typically survive once the films they are based on leave the theaters, but I thought these would at least make it until the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was released on DVD. I believe there had been some hope that Indy would prove to have stronger staying power than previous franchises and Hasbro would be able to carry on producing the various toy lines centered around the Harrison Ford character.

Indiana Jones Action Figure - Young IndyBut, no matter how popular a movie is its toy line is sure to fail eventually. Just look at the Pirates of the Caribbean, Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter films, combined those movie franchises have grossed billions, but you’d be hard pressed to find their action figures on store shelves today. The fact that Indiana Jones action figures have taken up so much shelf space the past six months actually says a lot about the character’s (and Harrison Ford’s) pop cultural significance. How many other 60 year actors could be selling this many toys of a WWII era hero? Definitely not Arnold or Stallone!

Indiana Jones Action Figure - Mola RamThe only movie franchises with real staying power has proven to be Star Wars and DC Comics/Marvel Comics’ super heroes, but that is primarily based on those properties’ abilities to expand into other formats in order to sustain their characters' popularities. Unfortunately this is something Lucas has been unable to do with Indiana Jones. If only they had come out with an animated series!

Indiana Jones Mighty Muggs Wave 2

Ok, so we finally have some clarification on the upcoming Indiana Jones Mighty Muggs line. Wave 1 should be hitting stores at some point this month and include three figures, Indiana Jones, Mola Ram and Cairo Swordsman. The newly announced Indiana Jones Mighty Muggs Wave 2 (see below) will be released sometime in September 2008 and will include four figures (three of which are brand new figures).

This second wave of figures will include the previously released Indiana Jones Mighty Mugg, the previously revealed Monkey Man and Professor Jones Mighty Muggs and one never before seen figure. Yes, that’s right, we now have picture confirmation of a Mutt Williams Mighty Mugg straight from the summer blockbuster hit Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. To see Shia LaBeouf in all his Mighty Muggs glory, check out the picture below. The vinyl figure can also double as a Sam Witwicky Transformers Mighty Mugg.

The new Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull “payoff” theatrical one-sheet promotional poster has been unveiled at IndianaJones.com. You can download this promo poster and check out previous official Indiana Jones theatrical posters at the site’s downloads page.

You really gotta hand it to Steven Spielberg and George Lucas, they definitely know how to design a movie poster.

Indiana Jones Mighty Muggs - Two New Figures Discovered

The Blot was sure back when I first reported about the upcoming Indiana Jones Mighty Muggs line that a Professor Henry Jones, Sr. Mighty Mugg would be included in the set, and I can now deliver a picture as proof! The Blot has also found confirmation that Indiana Jones Mighty Muggs Wave 1 will include not 4 but 5 figures, the fifth being Monkey Man who of course comes with his trusty Monkey. Check out the picture below to see what these new Mighty Muggs will look like, and if you’d like to see pictures of the previously announced Indiana Jones Mighty Muggs figures click here.

As a bonus I want all the potato-heads out there to know that Hasbro has decided to continue its line of movie themed Mr. Potato Head figures with an Indiana Jones Mr. Potato Head - Taters of the Lost Ark. This follows in a long line of Mr. Potato Head movie tie-ins including three Star Wars themed figures (Darth Tater, Spud Trooper, Artoo-Potatoo), a Spider-Spud figure and my all time favorite tie-in, a Transformers Mr. Potato Head - Optimash Prime.

Indiana Jones Mighty Muggs Confirmed With Pictures

This past weekend was the 2008 Toy Fair in New York City presented by the Toy Industry Association. This yearly event is attended by all of the biggest producers of toys in America and gives them an opportunity to unveil their upcoming toy lines for the year.

Coming straight from Toy Fair we can now confirm with pictures the upcoming line of Indiana Jones Mighty Muggs. Pictured is Indy himself along with two villains, the Cairo Swordsman and Mola Ram, who is carrying what I have to say is the best toy accessory ever, a still beating heart. Also rumored to be included in this wave of figures is a Professor Henry Jones, Sr. Mighty Mugg which can also double as a James Bond Mighty Mugg since Sean Connery is such a versatile actor.

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull Teaser Trailer

Finally the much hyped teaser trailer for the new Indiana Jones movie hit the internet. While The Blot is really excited to see the fourth installment in the Indiana Jones franchise, I was a little under whelmed by the first trailer. Yes the Indy theme music got me pumped up and seeing Harrison Ford in his Indiana Jones costume brought back fond memories, its just that the bigger and more detailed the special effects got the more fake they seemed.

Obviously special effects are fake, thats the whole point, but there was something to the original movies that made them all seem plausible and real to me. Watching Ford, at his age especially, swing from the rafters on his trusty whip and then later watching the car chase all came off as really CGI to me. After watching it what did you think?

The New Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull Movie Poster

Here is the newest movie poster for Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Unlike the first movie poster (seen here) which was intricately painted by long-time Lucas collaborator Drew Struzan (Star Wars Episodes I-III&VI, the first three Indiana Jones films, the Back To The Future trilogy), this teaser poster is solely a photo of Harrison Ford’s silhouette sporting Indie’s trademark fedora and holding his classic bullwhip.

Dr. Jones! Dr. Jones!

Nothing gets The Blot more excited about a movie than the name Indiana Jones. How can a movie not be amazing when it combines two of the greatest minds in epic moving making, George Lucas and Steven Spielberg, with Han Solo himself, Harrison Ford. What pains me to no end is that it took almost 20 years since the last Indiana Jones installment for this movie to be made. I'm sure the special effects will be much better than in the first three movies, but I have to believe something will be missing after the prolonged layoff. If nothing else it probably means less screen time for Ford and more for Indy's son in the movie, Shia LaBeouf.

Here's the official first movie poster for Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull due out May 22, 2008.

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
I just pray this movie is better than the last time Lucas decided to revisit one of his storied franchises (Star Wars). Thankfully, Spielberg has had a much better track record in recent years for making entertaining movies.

And if you haven't been to Disneyland lately, there's a new ride, Indiana Jones Adventure, that's a must for any Indiana Jones fan. It was by far the best ride I went on in my trip there last week. Whatever you do, don't let the tremendously long line scare you off!
