The Blot’s Big Announcement

Halloween isn’t always the most romantic of holidays, but our weekends are booked for the next 5 weeks and I wanted to do it on a Saturday night. At least this way I’ll never forget the date I finally popped the question! Thanks for stopping by The Blot Says… today and celebrating this exciting news with me in your own way wherever in the world you might be.

Happy New Year from The Blot Says…
It’s 2009, can you believe it?
The plan was to have a post for today counting down my favorite graphic novels of 2008. But, between being out of town all last week and being extremely busy this week I didn’t have a chance to write the post yet. Therefore, it might show up later today (depending on how I’m feeling after a very long night out celebrating New Year’s Eve) or it might show up on Monday (Friday’s posts have already been written…see I’m not a total slacker). Now I feel as though I’ve added a bit of mystery to The Blot Says… by keeping you guys guessing as to when The Blot’s one and only 2008 Top 10 list will be showing up.
I hope everyone had a great NYE last night and here’s to a healthy and happy new year. Hopefully 2009 will be even better than '08.

Happy Holidays from The Blot Says...
The Blot hopes everyone had a very happy and healthy holiday this week. I headed home to Alabama on Wednesday to see the family and I can't believe how warm it is here. Aly and I were hoping for a cold x-mas and all we got was a somewhat cool yet extremely humid one. I think it might have been colder back in Houston. Oh well, what can you do? The Blot Says... will return with all new posts next week.

Happy Thanksgiving - Gobble! Gobble!
'Cause it's good
Love to eat turkey
Like a good boy should
'Cause it's turkey to eat
So good
Turkey for me
Turkey for you
Let's eat the turkey
In my big brown shoe
Love to eat the turkey
At the table
I once saw a movie
With Betty Grable
Eat that turkey
All night long
Fifty million Elvis fans
Can't be wrong
Turkey lurkey doo and
Turkey lurkey dap
I eat that turkey
Then I take a nap
Thanksgiving is a special night
Jimmy Walker used to say Dynomite
That's right
Turkey with gravy and cranberry
Can't believe the Mets traded Darryl Strawberry
Turkey for you and
Turkey for me
Can't believe Tyson
Gave that girl V.D.
White meat, dark meat
You just can't lose
I fell off my moped
And I got a bruise
Turkey in the oven
And the buns in the toaster
I'll never take down
My Cheryl Tiegs poster
Wrap the turkey up
In aluminum foil
My brother likes to masturbate
With baby oil
Turkey and sweet potato pie
Sammy Davis Jr.
Only had one eye
Turkey for the girls and
Turkey for the boys
My favorite kind of pants
Are corduroys
Gobble gobble goo and
Gobble gobble gickel
I wish turkey
Only cost a nickel
Oh I love turkey on Thanksgiving
Happy Thanksgiving everybody!

Memorial Day Ramblings

Because of the holiday weekend there hasn’t been much else going on. So, I thought I’d share a few Threadless t-shirt designs I’ve really liked from the past three weeks that I haven’t gotten around to posting about. Some were funny, one was pretty creative and one just reminded me of some funny cartoons I used to watch back in the day (so I had to include it). Hope everyone has a good Memorial Day Holiday and I’ll see you back here tomorrow!

Happy Valentine’s Day

Listening to those men in the commercial talk about how they might as well not go home on Valentine’s Day if they don’t bring home a box of chocolates to their wives makes me want to puke. As if that commercial wasn’t bad enough, of course there is the follow up commercial where the wives are discussing how those little boxes of chocolate really make the holiday memorable. Are they seriously pushing this on the viewing public? Let me set the story straight right here and now, chocolate does not make the holiday memorable! I’m pretty sure most people would be thrilled to forgo Russell Stover’s heat shaped box of chocolates for one special night with a real Valentine…I know I would.
That’s why I’m boycotting chocolate this Valentine’s Day and I suggest you do the same! Instead Al and I will be celebrating Valentine’s Day with a heart shaped rice crispy treat. Ok, I know M&M’s are chocolate but whatever…to me they have always been just “candy” and not really chocolate per se, but I know that’s debatable.

'Twas The Night Before Christmas

Check out NORAD Tracks Santa to follow along and see when jolly old St. Nick will be in your neck of the woods. You can follow his movement either by Google Maps or Google Earth and NORAD even has a toll free number for any important questions the kids in your house might have. It’s pretty cool even if you don’t believe in Santa Clause anymore.

Happy Thanksgiving - Gobble! Gobble!

Thanksgiving...my favorite holiday! I mean what other holiday gives you A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving, Pecan Pie and Cowboys football? Christmas probably comes close with Egg Nog and the Lakers, but it's still not quite the same.
The Blot is now officially on Thanksgiving break and off from work for the week. I'm heading to to Dallas, but don't worry this doesn't mean there won't be regular posting during the holiday. What it does mean is that I won't be sitting around on the computer all day everyday so I probably won't be posting multiple times a day...but I'll see what I can do.
