Da’ Lizard Vinyl Figure by Mark Bode Available Now!

If you haven’t been picked up Mark Bode’s fantastic Da’ Lizard 11” vinyl figure yet, it’s not too late! While a few of the colorways are now sold out (Black, Gold and Rainbow), there are four colorways still available. Head over to Mark Bode’s online store now where you can pick up the Green, Brown, Magenta and unpainted White editions for $80 each. The Blot’s added a green version to my collection and it rocks! I'm just bummed the Rainbow colorway sold out before I could order one. Each Da' Lizard features multiple points of articulation and comes packaged in a full color box.

Frankenturd Resin Figure by Mark Bode

The Blot is seriously in love with these resin prototype kits from Mark Bode and Michael Waltz! Along with Da’ Lizard and “Ball Kicking” Cheech Wizard, Waltz has sculpted and produced this super detailed Frankenturd resin figure based on the artwork of Vaughn Bode. Each figure has 5 parts and stands just over 10” tall! The unpainted White resin kit is limited to 100 pieces and retails for $150 each, while the super limited Ghostly Glow Edition is limited to just 30 pieces, will glow for 12 hours and retails for $180. “Ball Kicking” Cheech Wizard Resin Figure by Mark Bode

Following the successful release of his Da’ Lizard figure last year, Mark Bode is teaming up once again with Michael Waltz to produce this awesome looking “Ball Kicking” Cheech Wizard figure!!! The Cheech Wizard has always been my favorite Bode character, and it still kills me that I’ve never gotten my hands on the original Cheech vinyl figure (which also happened to be Kidrobot’s first release). Just like with Da’ Lizard, the Ball Kicking Cheech Wizard will first be released as an unpainted resin prototype by Waltz before being released as a self-funded vinyl figure by Bode.

The “Ball Kicking” Cheech Wizard Resin Figure by Mark Bode is currently available in two unpainted colorways, blank white ($180) and glow in the dark ($210). Cheech Wizard & Da Lizard “GOOMPH!” T-Shirt by Mark Bodé

Mark Bodé just released this awesome new long sleeve t-shirt entitled “GOOMPH!”, which features two of the Bode family’s signature characters, Cheech Wizard and Da Lizard! Many of you may also recognize the model above…it’s the one and only DJ QBert! It’s kinda ridiculous how much of a mark The Blot is for Bodé’s (and his father Vaughn Bodé’s) artwork and characters. Thankfully Mark’s been bringing the heat lately with some awesome new apparel and toy releases.

SDCC 14 Exclusive Da’ Lizard Vinyl Figure Green & Black Colorways by Mark Bode

The Blot’s been patiently waiting for the first release of Mark Bode’s new Da’ Lizard vinyl figure and it’s finally here! Two of the figure’s seven colorways will be dropping exclusively at San Diego Comic-Con 2014, and I can’t wait to hear what people think of this new figure once they’ve seen it in person. First up is the OG Green Cheech Lizard, which will be sold exclusively at the Toy Tokyo SDCC booth. Mark will also be having a signing on Saturday, July 26th, at the Toy Tokyo booth. Check with the Toy Tokyo crew for specific times.

The San Diego Comic-Con 2014 Exclusive Black Cheech Lizard is limited to just 200 pieces and will also drop on Saturday, July 26th, at the MINDstyle SDCC booth #4845 from 12-3pm when Mark will be on hand to sign this awesome figure. Produced by MINDstyle, both SDCC 2014 Exclusive Da’ Lizard vinyl figures stand 11” tall, feature three points of articulation and come packaged in a full color box.

First Look: Magenta & Brown Da’ Lizard Vinyl Figure Colorways by Mark Bode

If, like The Blot, you’re anxiously awaiting the release of the new Da’ Lizard vinyl figure by Mark Bode here’s a little more info on the release to wet your whistle! Earlier this week Mark posted the photos above of the painted prototypes of his Magenta and Brown Lizard colorways on his Instagram page. They look fantastic, don’t you think!?!

We also now know each figure will stand 11” tall, come in four different colorways (Green, Magenta, Brown and White), and retail for just $80. Coming Soon: Da’ Lizard Vinyl Figure by Mark Bode

Last January The Blot got to see Mark Bode’s amazing Da’ Lizard resin figure in person at the legendary artist’s solo show “The Masked Lizard Rides Again” at Aerosol Warfare here in Houston, Texas. This 6-8” tall unpainted resin figure was limited to just 50 pieces, featured 3 points of articulation and looked seriously fantastic! Unfortunately, one of these figures didn’t go home with me that night. But I did learn some good news that evening, Bode was working on a vinyl release of his Da’ Lizard sculpt!

The Da’ Lizard vinyl figure is almost here and Bode unveiled his first painted prototype and the figure’s packaging artwork. What really stands out from the pictures Mark posted on his Instagram account is that Da’ Lizard is being made by MINDstyle! I didn’t even know they were still in business. There are four colroways in the works (OG Lizard Green, White, Magenta and Brown), and at least one of those will be released by Toy Tokyo. Can’t wait to snag one of these! Aerosol Warfare presents The Masked Lizard Rides Again: The Works of Mark Bode, Vaughn Bode & Posse

Next Saturday, January 18th, Aerosol Warfare will be hosting the coolest Houston art show The Blot’s seen since moving here back in 2005! Legendary artist Mark Bode will be making his first Texas appearance at street art gallery Aerosol Warfare for “The Masked Lizard Rides Again”! This art exhibition will feature original artwork and books from the collection of Mark Bode and the late Vaughn Bode, as well as a small group art show of Bode-inspired pieces by a very special invited artist posse comprised of AZUL, COLERSONER, DANDEE WARHOL, DEATH HEAD, DECKWGF, DUROCK, MIKE HERNANDEZ, GONZO247, GRAVE, JESTER, MERGE360, NATE NASH, SIEGO, SKEEZ181, SKEWONE, SLOKE, OSCAR and more.

The Blot is all kinds of excited to have Mark Bode in Houston and I can’t wait to meet him. Bode will be available for autographs and book signings at the Aerosol Warefare Gallery during the event’s opening night reception from 6-10pm on Saturday, January 18th. The evening will also feature MC Craig BBC Long on the mic, live painting of a car belonging to art patron, Chris Higham, BBOY breaking and entertainment led by Marlon of HAVIKORO and DJ Joe B of Rebel Crew on the turntables. If you live in Houston (or really anywhere in Texas) you won’t want to miss this show!
