Masters of the Universe Screen Print Set by Tom Whalen x Bottleneck Gallery

Today, Bottleneck Gallery and artist Tom Whalen will be releasing a killer Masters of the Universe matching print set, which will be having MOTU fans everywhere screaming “By the Power of Grayskull!” As BNG explained, “Masters of the Universe has been a lore-filled world of cartoons, toys, comics, etc. since the early ‘80s, and we’re excited to hop into the perpetual fray with Tom Whalen’s set of prints dedicated to both sides of the battle. Tom’s print set features He-Man and Skeletor headlining pieces filled with their respective allies and troops and wizards and funky fishmen. Tom’s prints are bold, colorful, and send us right back to mashing our favorite MOTU toys together in fictional fights!”

Masters of the Universe by Tom Whalen is a set of two prints, one featuring He-Man and the heroes of the MOTU and one featuring Skeletor and all the franchise’s bad guys. Each poster is a 12”x36” hand numbered screen print. Sold only as a matching number set, the Regular Edition is limited to 150 sets and will retail for $95, while the Variant is limited to 75 sets and will retail for $110.  Both colorways will go on sale at 12pm ET on Tuesday, June 4th, at BottleneckGallery.com.

Masters of the Universe “Third Eye Of Eternia” Screen Print by Tim Seeley x Mark Englert x Mad Duck Posters – A Tribute to Jack Kirby!

What would He-Man and the Masters Of The Universe look like if it had been designed by Jack “King” Kirby? Now we may have an idea thanks to artists Tim Seeley and Mark Englert! Mad Duck Posters is teaming up with the two artists to release this special, officially licensed MOTU collaboration that doubles as a tribute to the King himself! Check out this epic “Third Eye Of Eternia” screen print, which was styled after those trippy black light Marvel Third Eye posters of the 1970s. Now we just need a comic depicting the epic battle of Kirby’s Lord of Light and the evil Skeletor!

Third Eye Of Eternia by Tim Seeley and Mark Englert is a 24”x18” hand numbered Masters of the Universe screen print. What’s really crazy about this vibrant poster is that it’s available in six different editions! “Vandals of the Universe” He-Man T-Shirt by Flying Fortress

Check out Flying Fortress’ super rad take on He-Man and the Masters of the Universe! I love how Flying Fortress has transformed He-Man and Skeletor into spray paint cans and Battle Cat into a train. The artist explained that the shirt was designed to “look retro by creating some vintage silkscreen print effects in purpose... like mixing colors with some rough grid look... and dirty looks all over... Vandals!”

MondoCon Exclusive Masters of the Universe “Eyes Without A Face” Prints by Jason Edmiston

Jason Edmiston will be bringing a ton of prints, original pencils and original paintings from his popular Eyes Without A Face series with him to MondoCon this weekend. It’s amazing how much pop culture goodness Edmiston can cram into one series of prints. And without a doubt the EWAF releases The Blot is most looking forward to are these fantastic Masters of the Universe Eyes Without A Face giclee prints!

Based on Mattel’s classic MOTU toy line from the 1980s, Jason will be releasing Eyes Without A Face prints of He-Man, Skeletor, Orko, Evil-Lyn and Beast Man! Pick one up (or the complete five piece set) directly from Edmiston at his MondoCon booth this weekend. He’ll be dropping a number of surprises this weekend, including giving away EWAF prints with every purchase (while supplies last).

He-Man and the Masters of the Universe Screen Prints by Dave Perillo

Last weekend Gallery 1988 opened its newest exhibit, a collaboration with Mattel, curated by Dave Perillo, celebrating 70 years of toy making! Two of my favorite pieces from that show are these fantastic He-Man and the Masters of the Universe screen prints by Perillo entitled “Eternia’s Most Heroic” and “Eternia’s Most Evil”. Each panel features a different MOTU action figure and the year it was released. Dave tried to include as many of the different characters as possible, but as we all know there are way more bad guys in Eternia than good…so Snake Men got dissed.

“Eternia’s Most Heroic” and “Eternia’s Most Evil” by Dave Perillo are 12”x36” signed and numbered Masters of the Universe 6 color screen prints. Both prints are limited to just 82 pieces (the year He-Man debuted) and retail for $45 each at the Gallery 1988 online store.

The ‘80s are back and so too are all of your favorite ‘80s franchises, like Transformers, G.I. Joe, and of course, He-Man and the Masters of the Universe! Mattel’s signature action figure line is now a killer pop culture inspired collection of Threadless t-shirts. And honestly, couldn’t we all use more tees featuring He-Man, Skeletor, She-Ra and Man-At-Arms!?! The Blot especially loves all the ‘80s inspired designs, with their awesome retro graphics and florescent color schemes.
