Batman v Superman First Look: Jason Momoa as Aquaman

Batman v Superman First Look: Jason Momoa as Aquaman

Zack Snyder set the internet on fire when last week when he tweeted this picture of Jason Momoa as DC Comics’ Aquaman from the upcoming live action film Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. I love the casting of Momoa as Aquaman, but what is going on with his war armor!?! I seriously hate this look, and how far it strays from the source material (unless we’re talking hook-handed ‘90s Aquaman, I guess).

It’ll be interesting to see what role Aquaman plays in Batman v Superman, or if it’s just a very quick cameo. The bigger question is what does “Unite The Seven” mean!?! The text in the picture above may refer to the seven seas that Aquaman rules as king, or might it actually be referring to the seven members of the Justice League, which are presumably being united in Batman v Superman. Only time will tell!

Batman vs. Superman First Look: Ben Affleck as Batman

Batman vs. Superman First Look: Ben Affleck as Batman & The Batmobile

Yesterday, Zack Snyder released a bombshell on Twitter! He gave the world its first look at Ben Affleck as Batman and the Batmobile from his upcoming DC Comics film Batman vs. Superman! Never in The Blot’s wildest dreams did I believe Zack Snyder would go in this direction for Batfleck. I know he’s said Affleck’s Bruce Wayne will be an older, chiseled and hardened version of the character, but no way did I think he’d go full on The Dark Knight Returns (and is that a clown face in the background???).

I know it’s hard to make out the details of Affleck’s Batman costume in this very dark picture, but take my word for it. This is almost an identical replica of Frank Miller’s iconic look for Batman in DKR. My only question is how does Ben Affleck fill out this suit? He’s nowhere near this big or ripped. It almost looks like a suit of armor really. I have no idea where this film is going, but I really hope Affleck doesn’t look comical in such a huge, bulging costume.

New Superman Man of Steel Movie Posters

Superman Man of Steel Theatrical One Sheet Movie Poster

Superman Man of Steel Theatrical Movie Banner

It’s not quite summer yet, but the summer movie season is already in high gear with huge films like Iron Man 3 and Star Trek Into Darkness in theaters. So far most of the summer’s big films are getting pretty mixed reviews, and The Blot’s super interested to hear what fans think about Zach Snyder’s upcoming Superman live action film Man of Steel. The trailers look cool, but they’re not really what I’m looking for from a Superman film. However, these one sheet movie posters look epic. I love how iconic the posters look, and that’s what I want in a classic DC Comics Superman story (that and Lex Luthor and/or Braniac as the villain). There’s no more iconic hero than Kal-El and his films need to exude that feeling.

Superman: Man of Steel Official Trailer #3

The Blot’s got no idea of Zach Snyder’s Man of Steel is going to be a good movie or not, but this trailer is so freaking awesome on a number of different levels. Pretty much all of my issues with the film’s first two trailers have been resolved and the story actually seems interesting now. Even Henry Cavill looks like DC Comics' Superman, although I still hate his hair.

How cool is this Zack Snyder Director Series going to be? Mondo has already confirmed screen prints for 300, Watchmen, Dawn of the Dead and Legend of the Guardians are in the works. The Blot doesn’t know who’s designing the Watchmen print, but I hope it’s killer!
