Faith No More Boston 2015 “Hood Goodz” Concert Poster Screen Print by Sket One

Faith No More Boston 2015 “Hood Goodz” Concert Poster Screen Print by Sket One

First Huck Gee and now Sket One!?! I don’t know who the art director is for Faith No More’s rock posters but they are doing an amazing job choosing artists for the bands 2015 tour! Sket One has designed the show poster for FNM’s concert at Boston, MA’s Orpheum Theatre on May 9, 2015. The Blot loves that Sket chose to make one of his signature Hood Goodz the focal point of this screen print. I mean has a can of beer ever looked so mean!?! To the best of my knowledge this is Sket’s first screen printed concert poster, making this a can’t miss release for long term fans of the California based arist.

The Faith No More Boston 2015 Concert Poster by Sket One is an 18”x24” signed and numbered screen print. The Standard Edition is limited to 115 pieces and retails for just $40, while the Sparkle Foil Variant is limited to just 20 pieces and retails for $100. Both prints are currently available for purchase at the Secret Serpents Faith No More Official Tour Poster Store.

The John Player Special OBP Resin Figure by Huck Gee

Tomorrow Huck Gee will be putting his second original OBP resin figures up for pre-order, and it is a beauty! Check out the epic looking John Player Special OBP resin figure featuring a striking black and gold color scheme. Although I’m not normally into mechs, this OBP looks fantastic! It’s amazing how much these rich colors pop off the 90% grey body of the mech.

The John Player Special OBP Resin Figure stands 10” tall, weighs in at just over 3 pounds and has rotating ball turrets. Each figure comes signed by Huck Gee and includes all accessories shown here. This amazing mech goes on sale this Thursday, May 21st, at noon PDT at the Huck Gee online store for $475. The John Player Special OBP will be available for 24 hours only, with the figure’s limited edition run size set by the number of orders placed in that timeframe.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Screen Print by Francesco Francavilla

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Standard Edition Screen Print by Francesco Francavilla

Tomorrow Grey Matter Art will be releasing the fourth and final movie poster in their fantastic The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Screen Print Series, which commemorates the horror film’s 40th anniversary! The series will feature designs by a venerable who’s who of screen print artists, like Florian Bertmer, Jason Edmiston and Grzegorz Domaradzki. This week’s movie poster is by acclaimed comic book artist Francesco Francavilla! The Blot is a huge fan of Francesco’s noir art style, and I love his classic take on the film with this design. This piece is just so gritty looking, especially the variant edition, with the blood spatter with the darker yellow tones to it.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Variant Screen Print by Francesco Francavilla

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre by Francesco Francavilla is a 24”x36” screen print. The Regular Edition has a limited edition run size of 225 pieces and will retail for $50, while the Variant is limited to 150 pieces and will retail for $65. Both editions go on sale at a random time between 1-2pm EDT on Thursday, May 21st, at the Grey Matter Art online store.

Kidrobot’s Upcoming Release Schedule Gets A Little Clearer!

Kidrobot

It sounds like the long hiatuses between Kidrobot releases is finally over! A lot has happened to our favorite designer toy company in the past year that caused those long periods of silence, including being sold to NECA and the installation of Frank Kozik as KR’s creative director. Now it seems like every day we see a new teaser for an upcoming release! Those teasers include possibly a new Circus Posterus Dunny series featuring works by Brandt Peters and Kathie Olivas, a new Adventure Time blind box series, a Junko Mizuno 8” Dunny, Scott Tolleson 8” Dunny and the very first production Dunny by WuzOne. But that’s not all!

Kidrobot x Brandt Peters

Yesterday, Entertainment Earth posted a number of previously unannounced Kidrobot figures available for pre-order. While we don’t have any pictures of these exciting releases, the titles alone have The Blot super excited! While it’s not expected to hit store shelves until January 2016, we now know KR will be releasing a production Sketracha 3” Dunny by Sket One!!! It is going to seriously look amazing next to my custom resin Sketracha 8” Dunny. September 2015 brings us a new Tricky Cats blind box mini figure series, while November 2015 will see the release of more South Park mini figures! I can’t wait to find out what the “Many Faces of Cartman” is all about.

Kidrobot x WuzOne

In January 2016 Amanda Visell’s long rumored artist blind box mini figure series “Ferals” will be released! If the teaser images hold true, this series will utilize a number of Kidrobot’s different Munny World characters. Last but not least are three artist inspired The Simpsons vinyl figures! Scheduled to also be released in January 2016, Kidrobot will be teaming up with world-renowned artist Ron English to release “Grin” versions of Homer and Bart as 3” vinyl figures. While that may not be something new, this next release is! KR is teaming up with Kenny Scharf to release an all new, medium sized Bart Simpsons vinyl figure inspired by Scharf’s work. This figure sounds like it could be insane! I can’t wait to find out more about all these awesome new Kidrobot releases.

Marvel’s Secret Wars Magneto 12” Jumbo Vintage Action Figure by Gentle Giant

Marvel’s Secret Wars Magneto 12” Jumbo Vintage Action Figure by Gentle Giant

Gentle Giant has announced the fourth figure in its new Marvel’s Secret Wars Jumbo 12” Action Figure toy line, and it’s the evil mutant Magneto! Based on the character's look in the iconic '84 comic book limited series Secret Wars, the Master of Magnetism was digitally scanned from Mattel’s original Secret Wars action figure from the 1980s and reproduced as a whopping 12” tall collectible.

Roto and injection molded and made of durable plastics, this articulated jumbo Marvel’s Secret Wars figure includes a faithfully reproduced lenticular shield just like the classic ‘80s toy. To further capture the vintage feel, Gentle Giant has packaged this Marvel action figure with a Secret Wars inspired backer card featuring original photos and artwork in a resealable plastic outer clam shell.

The Magneto 12” Jumbo Vintage Marvel’s Secret Wars action figure by Gentle Giant is not expected to be released until June 2016, but it can be pre-ordered now at Entertainment Earth for $89.99 here.

Johnny Cupcakes x Mad Max: Fury Road “Warrior of the Tasteland” T-Shirt

Johnny Cupcakes x Mad Max: Fury Road “Warrior of the Tasteland” T-Shirt

This week Johnny Cupcakes expanded its awesome collection of movie inspired t-shirts with the release of “Warrior of the Tasteland”! Timed perfectly to coincide with this weekend’s highly anticipated release of Mad Max: Fury Road, “Warrior of the Tasteland” is inspired by everyone’s favorite post-apocalyptic movie (that doesn’t star Kevin Costner). While technically this t-shirt design doesn’t draw its influence from Mad Max: Fury Road, it clearly is based on the Australia-based franchise. The Blot finds it hard to believe Fury Road is as good as The Road Warrior, but from all the reviews I’ve read so far it sounds pretty damn close!

The Johnny Cupcakes x Mad Max: Fury Road “Warrior of the Tasteland” t-shirt is currently available in sizes S-XXXL at the Johnny Cupcakes online store for $29.99 each.
