The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers Screen Print by Karl Fitzgerald x Bottleneck Gallery

Bottleneck Gallery is taking us on a trip back to Middle Earth today with the release of Karl Fitzgerald’s next print in his Lord of the Rings series, The Two Towers! As BNG explains, “Karl has created an absolutely epic take on one of the most iconic battles in fantasy and fiction, the Battle of Helm’s Deep. Karl has captured the sheer sense of scale and terrifying anticipation of the scene as Saruman’s forces surround the Hornburg fortress in incredible numbers, ready to destroy any hope our heroes have of winning their war.”

The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers by Karl Fitzgerald is a 24”x36” hand numbered screen print. The Regular Edition is limited to 200 pieces and retails for $50, while the Variant is limited to 100 pieces and retails for $60. Both prints went on sale today, Thursday, September 21st, at the Bottleneck Gallery online store.

Society Movie Poster Screen Print by Matt Ryan Tobin x Mad Duck Posters

Mad Duck Posters has released a killer new, officially licensed movie poster screen print for the 1989 cult classic film, Society, with art by Matt Ryan Tobin! As director Brian Yuzna described the film, Society is about “fear and paranoia in Beverly Hills.” Matt Ryan Tobin explained that “Society is a completely original, tongue in cheek, thought-provoking 80's gem...and its absolutely bat shit crazy. So when Mad Duck reached out to me to do a poster for it, I said yes without hesitation. Upon more research into the film I learned that director Brian Yuzna was heavily inspired by the work of Dali. As soon as I learned this, Dali's “In Voluptas Mors” came to mind...and fully inspired this 80's redux/homage to his incredibly legendary and iconic work.”

MRT went on to say “I wanted to capture the era of the 1980's and 80's poster art itself but also create something elegant, statuesque and upon closer look...grotesque. Those that have seen the film can probably understand what the relevance of this piece is to the film and what it suggests both on the surface and beneath the surface. For those who have not seen the film...you should do so. It’s a trip.”

The Wind In The Willows Screen Print by Peter Diamond x Black Dragon Press x Mondo

Mondo has teamed up with Black Dragon Press to release a new poster for Kenneth Grahame’s The Wind In The Willows by Peter Diamond! As the artist explained, “My impression of these characters and this story going into this turned out to be very different from what I came away with after reading the novel. I was broadly familiar with The Wind In The Willows from various adaptations and had certainly seen enough Willows art to have a pretty strong idea of what this thing was about: idyllic English scenery, cute animals in tweed, the toad being a bit loopy... But Toad’s not just a bit loopy, he’s truly sick. He’s charming and funny, sure, but in that very sad way perhaps only a person in the depths of addiction can be. His great source of joy and purpose is also a fatal menace to himself and those around him, and it wreaks havoc on his life.”

The Wind in the Willows by Peter Diamond is an 18”x36” hand numbered screen print, and goes on sale today, Tuesday, September 19th. This poster will be available in two versions: UK Red Variant and US Sepia Variant.
