The Blot was blown away to learn that right before the holidays Spoke Art Gallery had released a new line of alternative movie posters for Netflix’ blockbuster animated film, K-Pop Demon Hunters! Every kid I know loves this film, and these posters look amazing. First up is this fantastic 24”x36” screen print from one of The Blot’s favorite artist, Matt Taylor. The Standard Edition comes on gold foil paper, is limited to 150 pieces and retailed for $75. The Variant comes on holo foil paper, is limited to 75 pieces and retailed for $95. SDCC 2024 Exclusive Kiki's Delivery Service Screen Print by Matt Taylor x Spoke Art

It’s been way too long since we’ve gotten one of Matt Taylor’s epic movie posters, but thanks to Spoke Art that changes this week!  Spoke Art is set to release this beautiful new movie poster for Kiki's Delivery Service by Taylor, which features the artist's signature color pallet. Details on this release are very slim, but it is a screen print and will be available in a Regular Edition and a Sepia Variant. If, like The Blot, you’ve been jonesing for some new Matt Taylor art, you’re in luck! Mutant has just released an epic new movie poster for Dune: Part II by Matt! Fans are raving over Denis Villeneuve’s second Dune film and I think they’ll be equally pleased with this beautiful new image by Matt Taylor. To celebrate the upcoming release of Clerks III in theaters, Kevin Smith and the ViewAskew crew have a lot of exciting things planned for San Diego Comic-Con 2022! That includes this spectacular SDCC 2022 Exclusive Clerks III movie poster by UK artist Matt Taylor! As Smith explained, “if you stop by the Lionsgate SDCC booth on the Convention Center floor to take pics at the Quick Stop Groceries counter, you might score a signed poster or a Clerks 3 bag! (Limited quantities available each day)” The director will even be making sporadic appearances at the booth so fans can take pictures with him at the booth! Mondo Is Releasing 2 New Matt Taylor Movie Posters - Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy & Fight Club

Today, Mondo has an awesome double feature of movie posters by artist Matt Taylor for a pair of films adapted from a pair of novels – Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy and Fight Club! The Blot just learned that for the last ten years, Matt has worked with Penguin Random House on exquisitely illustrated covers for John le Carré novels, and late last year Mondo learned he had worked with StudioCanal on the cover art for the 10th anniversary 4K Blu-ray release, which has not been transformed into a killer new screen print poster for the film!

As for the Fight Club piece, as Mondo explained “Most people know the first rule of Fight Club, but not a lot are as familiar with the 9th rule: When Matt does one Fight Club poster, ask him to do a companion piece four years later for the other main character. I think it’s safe to say that Daniel Danger won San Diego Comic-Con 2020 when he released this seriously impressive exclusive screen print “Let's make something weird together”, a collaboration between 28 different artists! As Danger explained, “Me and 27 buddies got together and made the ultimate cabin fever quarantine pandemic stay at home print set.” What an insane undertaking! Each artist designed a different room in one of two condemned buildings.

The San Diego Comic-Con 2020 Exclusive “Let's make something weird together” by Daniel Danger and Friends is two 18”x24” hand numbered screen prints. Mondo will be releasing a new movie poster by Matt Taylor for the sci-fi romance film Palm Springs today. The debut for director Max Barbakow just debuted on Hulu and stars Andy Samberg and Cristin Milioti as two strangers who meet at a wedding in Palm Springs and wind up locked in a [ICONIC COMEDY]-esque [PLOT DEVICE]. As Mondo explains, “Hijinks ensue. It’s fun. It’s splendid. Highly recommended.”

Mondo To Release Four New Godzilla Screen Prints by Matt Taylor, Phantom City Creative, Jason Edmiston & Attack Peter

When SXSW was cancelled, Mondo sadly also canceled their Godzilla group art show. This celebration of the King of the Monsters will now be released online, with screen prints gradually being released over the next few weeks. Mondo is releasing its third batch of four Godzilla posters today by artists Matt Taylor, Phantom City Creative, Jason Edmiston and Attack Peter! All four movie posters seen here will go on sale at 11am CDT today, Thursday, March 26th, at The Drop on MondoShop.com.

First up is the super rad Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla by Matt Taylor! As Mondo explained, “Matt’s technicolor sensibilities are on full display here for the 1974 film (and fourteenth in Godzilla’s Shōwa era) that sees Godzilla and the awesome King Caesar battle the titanic Mechagodzilla, a robot built by the Black Hole Planet 3 Aliens (aka Simians) to destroy Godzilla. As usual, Matt's color palette, composition, and illustration come together to form a stunning poster fit for the king of the monsters.”

Phantom City Creative have created a wonderful movie poster for Ghidorah, The Three-Headed Monster. This is the film that introduced the world to King Ghidorah, a devastating three-headed, fire breathing monster from space, and one of Godzilla’s most iconic foes. It features Godzilla, Rodan, and Mothra against the might of King Ghidorah.

The Blot was super excited to see Jason Edmiston’s Godzilla painting inspired by the King of the Monsters’ appearance from the Heisei era’s Godzilla vs Destoroyah. Mondo stated, “Jason’s artwork, originally an acrylic painting, details a beautifully rendered portrait of Godzilla. Jason’s detailing of the radioactivity emanating within Godzilla is on point, and we’re so happy with how this one turned out.”

Lastly, Mondo is releasing a second poster by Attack Peter for Ebirah, Horror of the Deep! Also known as Godzilla vs The Sea Monster, this film sees Godzilla ally with Mothra to take on Ebirah, a giant crustacean kaiju. Mondo went on to describe this poster: “Peter yet again delivers an awesome illustration of the ensuing battle between the three monsters. This poster has been beautifully printed by Peter and was produced as a linocut print on Lokta paper - a handmade paper imported from Nepal. The second of three posters in this GODZILLA collection.”

Pan’s Labyrinth Screen Print by Matt Taylor x Spoke Art

Last Friday, Spoke Art held screenings of Guillermo del Toro’s epic film, Pan’s Labyrinth, in both New York and San Francisco. To commemorate the screenings, Spoke Art commissioned artist Matt Taylor to create a special movie poster for the film. As Matt explained, “I thought there were probably enough posters of The Faun, so instead I focused on Ofelia stepping into the underland.” What a beautiful take on such a haunting film.
