DKE Toys will be heading to Complex Con this weekend in Long Beach, California and bringing with them some killer new bootleg exclusives, including this second colorway of Special Ed Toys' super popular Alien vs Predator resin figure set! The original release was nominated for Toy of the Year at the 2015 Designer Toy Awards, so you know this release is going to be highly sought after! The Complex Con 2016 Exclusive Alien vs Predator set is The Evil of the Thriller Edition. With this release you get two hand painted, cast and customized 3.75” scale resin figures of ET (the Alien) and Michael Jackson (the Predator) on custom card backs. Limited to just 20 pieces, each set comes signed and numbered by the artist and retails for $120 at the DKE Toys CC booth #J11.

Complex Con Exclusive LandObama Bootleg Star Wars Figure by Free Humanity

DKE Toys will be heading to Complex Con this weekend in Long Beach, California and bringing with them some killer new bootleg exclusives, including this awesome LandObama custom figure by Free Humanity! For this release, famed street artist Free Humanity has hand customized 3.75” Lando Calrissian Star Wars action figures and added to them a custom sculpted, cast and painted President Obama head.

More importantly, each card back has been hand stenciled with 4 layers, splattered and then signed and numbered out of 25 pieces. At $100 a Free Humanity stencil of this complexity on a canvas would be at least 10 times as much money in a gallery. These will not last long. Collectors can purchase this awesome exclusive at the DKE Toys CC booth #J11.

Complex Con Exclusive STR WAS: Chewback Resin Figure by Mark Todd

DKE Toys will be heading to Complex Con this weekend in Long Beach, California and bringing with them some killer new bootleg exclusives! First up is the second colorway of artist Mark Todd's first ever toy and first ever sculpture, STR WAS: Chewback - a unique take on Star Wars’ beloved Wookie Chewbacca. Todd’s original was molded and then cast in resin and hand painted by Mark. The card back is comprised of 2 riso graph prints on front and back for that very indie zine feel.

The Complex Con 2016 Exclusive STR WAS: Chewback resin figure by Mark Todd is a 3.75” scale carded figure, and is limited to just 30 signed and numbered pieces. Collectors can purchase it at the DKE Toys CC booth #J11 for $55.

One of a Kind Dr Pepper Resin Figure by Tracy Tubera!

Dr Pepper and Complex Magazine have teamed up on a crazy new promotion entitled the One of a Kind Collaboration Series! For this exciting project Dr Pepper commissioned creators from a number of different industries to create wholly unique new works based on the Dr Pepper brand. These one of a kind pieces include a varsity jacket designed by Crooks and Castles, sunglasses designed by The Dream, and a custom turntable designed by DJ Green Lantern. But the piece that really got The Blot excited was this awesome Dr Pepper resin figure by our friend Tracy Tubera!!!

Tubera is a designer, animator, and “Uber-Illustrator Supreme” who took the iconic Dr Pepper can and turned it into an awesome new character. Now if only we could get Dr Pepper to turn this one of a kind resin figure into a production vinyl figure!!! The picture below shows Tubera’s creative process, from sketch to vector to 3D sculpt. It’s pretty cool to see these behind the scenes photos of what it took to create this figure. It’s also beyond awesome Tracy was included in this project and I really love what he did with this figure. I think it says a lot that a designer toy was included in such an exciting mainstream promotion.
