Doctor Fate Helmet Constantine Prop Replica by DC Comics

Doctor Fate Helmet Constantine Prop Replica by DC Comics

While The Blot isn’t that into NBC’s Constantine live action television show, I’m kind of obsessed with the show accurate Doctor Fate Helmet prop replicas DC Comics is about to release! Originally appearing in the Constantine pilot episode, the Helmet of Fate was designed by Alex Ross and Larry Malott and sculpted by Adam Ross. This killer comic book prop stands 18” tall and comes in two super expensive editions: a Standard Edition that features an electroplated metallic finish and a very rare limited edition 24K Gold Edition.

While both versions of DC Comics’ Doctor Fate Helmet Constantine Prop Replica aren't scheduled to hit store shelves until October 2015, they are currently available for pre-order from our friends at Entertainment Earth! The 24K Gold Edition is limited to just 200 pieces and can be pre-ordered here for $699.99, while the Standard Edition can be pre-ordered for a much more reasonable price of $399.99 here.

Constantine Final Television Poster

Constantine Final One Sheet Television Poster

Tonight’s the night! DC ComicsConstantine television series finally debuts on NBC, and we can officially wipe all memory of Keanu Reeves’ terrible Constantine film from our collective consciousness. Based on the popular Vertigo series Hellblazer, the show will star Matt Ryan as the occult sorcerer antihero John Constantine. How in the world Hellblazer got a second chance at a live action adaptation after the Keanu abomination is a true miracle! But The Blot learned long ago not to look a gift horse in the mouth. Ryan looks spot on as Constantine, but we won’t know for sure until the pilot officially airs. I will definitely be tuning in later tonight!

Constantine airs Fridays on NBC at 10/9c.

Constantine Illustrated Television Poster by Gene Ha

Constantine Illustrated Television Poster by Gene Ha

This Friday, October 24th, DC Comics’ newest live action television series Constantine debuts on NBC. Based on the popular Vertigo series Hellblazer, the show will star Matt Ryan as the occult magician John Constantine. To promote the show’s premiere, DC Comics has distributed the above illustrated television poster designed by artist Gene Ha. It depicts Ryan’s Constantine flanked by Papa Midnite (portrayed by Michael James Shaw) and Zed (portrayed by Angelica Celaya). But what really makes this poster awesome is that it prominently displays Dr. Fate’s helmet! The Blot can’t wait to see what else Constantine pulls in from the greater DC Universe.

Constantine airs Fridays on NBC at 10/9c.

Constantine TV Series Official First Trailer

Constantine Television Series First Look - Matt Ryan as John Constantine

In what world do we live in that as Marvel Comics dominates theaters worldwide, DC Comics has taken over television screens in the US? After successfully launching the Green Arrow series Arrow on The CW two seasons ago, DC Comics now has four new shows green lit for next season: Gotham on FOX, The Flash and iZombie on The CW, and Constantine on NBC. It’s just mind boggling! What’s even more mind boggling is that this will be the second live action adaptation of the classic Vertigo comic book series Hellblazer. It is very, very impressive that anyone at Warner Bros was able to convince a network to move forward with this series considering how terrible the 2005 Keanu Reeves Constantine film was. At least Matt Ryan looks spot on to the John Constantine we all know and love from the comic books.

Constantine stars Matt Ryan as John Constantine, Lucy Griffiths as Liv Aberdine, Harold Perrineau as Manny, and Charles Halford as Chas.

Synopsys: Seasoned demon hunter and master of the occult John Constantine specializes in giving hell... hell. Armed with a ferocious knowledge of the dark arts and his wickedly naughty wit, he fights the good fight - or at least he did. With his soul already damned to hell, he's decided to leave his do-gooder life behind. But when demons target Liv, the daughter of one of Constantine's oldest friends, he's reluctantly thrust back into the fray - and he'll do whatever it takes to save her. Before long, it's revealed that Liv's "second sight," an ability to see the worlds behind our world and predict supernatural occurrences, is a threat to a mysterious new evil that's rising in the shadows. And now it's not just Liv who needs protection; the angels are starting to get worried too. So, together, Constantine and Liv must use her power and his skills to travel the country, find the demons that threaten our world - and send them back where they belong. After that, who knows... maybe there's hope for him and his soul after all.

Justice League Dark “New 52” DC Comics Action Figures - Constantine & Zatanna

One of the The Blot’s favorite parts of DC Comics’ soft “New 52” reboot was the reintroduction of John Constantine into the proper DC Universe. Not only has he left the “mature content” realm of the DC Comics’ imprint Vertigo, but DC gave him two books to headline! One of those books, Justice League Dark, also stars one of The Blot’s favorite characters, the mistress of magic Zatanna! For the past two decades Zatanna toiled in obscurity on the fringe of the DC Universe, but in the “New 52” reboot she thrust back into the spotlight once again.  And nothing shows that more than with the release of these awesome Justice League Dark action figures of Constantine and Zatanna!  Hopefully this is just the start of a new line of JLD action figures from DC Collectibles!

Each action figure in the DC Comics Justice League Dark New 52 toy line stands approximately 6.6”-6.7” tall, features multiple points of articulation, and will hit store shelves in October 2014. Both figures are currently available for pre-order now from Entertainment Earth for $22.99 each here.
