The Blot was blown away to learn it’s been 5 years since Justin Ishmael released his very first Galligantus sofubi! Where has the time gone? To celebrate this momentous anniversary, Ish is bringing back the iconic Famous Monsters of Filmland monster with an all new painted colorway! Check out the Galligantus Colossa vinyl figure, which is a companion piece to the Cyclops figure in Ishmael’s Ray Harryhausen series.  This new painted colorway will drop at 11am CT today, Thursday, August 26th, at JustinIshmael.com. Revenge of Galligantus Screen Print by Rockin’Jelly Bean x Famous Monsters of Filmland x Justin Ishmael

If you follow Justin Ishmael on Instagram then you know he was in Japan last week to release an epic new Galligantus Collection by Rockin’Jelly Bean! Along with some insane vinyl figures, Ish also released this fantastic “Revenge of Galligantus” screen print by RJB. Officially licensed by Famous Monsters of Filmland, “Revenge of Galligantus” was released in three colorways: Regular Edition, Variant Edition and a super rare Foil Variant Edition.

Revenge of Galligantus by Rockin’Jelly Bean is a 381mm x 762mm hand numbered screen print. The Regular Edition is limited to 200 pieces and will retail for 9,000 yen, while the Variant is limited to 100 pieces and will retail for 10,000 yen. Both go on sale at 12pm JST today, Tuesday, February 11th, at the Erostika online store.

DCon 2018 Exclusive Bio-Glow Galligantus Vinyl Figure by Justin Ishmael x Famous Monsters of Filmland

Justin Ishmael is spending the weekend at Designer Con 2018 where he’s got a ton of epic exclusives, customs and 1-offs. The Blot is really drooling over this micro run of Designer Con 2018 Exclusive Bio-Glow Galligantus vinyl figures Justin has cooked up! This colorway is a tribute to Kenner and its ‘90s Swamp Thing action figure toy line. The Bio-Glow Galligantus is cast in glow in the dark soft Japanese vinyl with an insane green and silver fade (just like the original Swamp Thing toy).

This officially licensed figure is based on the classic Famous Monsters of Filmland 1968 Yearbook cover image by Ron Cobb. Galligantus stands 11” tall and features multiple points of articulation. For this release Ishmael has also recreated the Bio-Glow Swamp Thing accessory weapons that can actually be held by Galligantus. New Galligantus Painted & Unpainted Vinyl Figures by Justin Ishmael x Famous Monsters of Filmland

Yesterday, Justin Ishmael surprised his fans with a huge release of four unpainted Galligantus vinyl figures and one insane painted colorway, the Psycho Marble Edition! Collectors are lucky to get one Galligantus released at a time, so to see five drop at one time is just plain crazy. Collectors can choose from unpainted Black, Green, Red and White editions of this two headed monster, along with the hand painted Psycho Marble Edition that was cast in red, white and black marbled vinyl with glow in the dark and micro sparkles added.

This officially licensed figure is based on the classic Famous Monsters of Filmland 1968 Yearbook cover image by Ron Cobb. Galligantus stands 11” tall, features multiple points of articulation and include a matching ball and chain accessory. The unpainted blank editions retail for just $150 each, while the painted Psycho Marble colorway retailed for $230. Justin Ishmael has just released a new green colorway of his epic Galligantus 11” sofubi vinyl figure! This officially licensed collaboration with Famous Monsters of Filmland is currently available in three different editions: Blank ($165), Painted ($225) and Painted with a Pewter Helmet accessory ($350).
