Boba-Def 24” Resin Figure by kaNO

One of The Blot’s all time favorite designer toys is about to get blown up…in a good way! ToyQube has announced the production of a new Boba-Def resin figure by kaNO that will be a whopping 24” tall. I scored one of these Star Wars inspired Hi-Def vinyl figures way back at San Diego Comic-Con 2009, and it’s been one of my prized possessions ever since. Now everyone that missed out on that classic SDCC exclusive has another shot!

The giant Boba-Def Resin Figure by kaNO stands 24” tall, is made from resin and comes securely packaged in diecut foam inside a double walled corrugated box. It appears to include a resin record accessory and can be pre-ordered now at the ToyQube online store for $399 (with a $200 non-refundable deposit).

It’s been a while since we’ve heard from our friends at ToyQube, but they are back with a vengeance with the release of this supersized Hi-Def resin figure from kaNO! Over the past year ToyQube has transformed from a designer toy store to a production company that specializes in custom design and manufacturing. They certainly knocked it out of the park with this new version of kaNO’s beloved character, Hi-Def. The Blot’s been anxiously awaiting the official release of this gigantic figure ever since kaNO teased it a few months back…and it’s finally here!

It’s hard to believe it’s been over six years since kaNO and ToyQube first released the original 10” version. To this day, their San Diego Comic-Con 2009 Exclusive Boba Fett Hi-Def is one of The Blot’s favorite figures in my collection. The new Hi-Def figure by kaNO stands a whopping 24” tall, is made from resin and comes securely packaged in diecut foam inside a double walled corrugated box. It appears to include a resin record accessory and is limited to just 45 pieces. Serious collectors can pick one up today from the ToyQube online store for $395.95.

SDCC Exclusive 2011 Star Wars Clone Trooper Custom Hi-Def Vinyl Figures by Keithing (Keith Poon)

Two years ago at San Diego Comic-Con The Blot bought one of my all time favorite toys, a Star Wars inspired colorway of kaNO’s Hi-Def vinyl figure entitled Boba Def. This summer Boba Def gets an unofficial follow-up in the form of a 12 figure set of custom Hi-Defs by Keith Poon inspired by Star Wars’ Clone Troopers. According to Vinyl Pulse, Keith has produced 3 of each Clone Trooper colorway (yellow, red, blue and green) and each Trooper Def will retail for $300.

Rumor has it one set will be available for purchase on ToyQube’s website tonight, while the other eight custom Cone Trooper Hi-Def vinyl figures will be available for purchase at ToyQube’s SDCC Booth #4934. If you happen to be at Comic-Con this year, feel free to pick one of these bad boys up for me!

Tomenosuke Exclusive All White Hi-Def Vinyl Figure by kaNO

In honor of Japanese toy company Tomenosuke’s 3rd anniversary, kaNO, in conjunction with Toy Qube, is releasing an all white version of his popular Hi-Def vinyl figure. This figure looks so dope, the minute The Blot saw the picture below all I could think was how do I get my hands on one of these! Sadly, the figure is a Japan exclusive and only available at Tomenosuke.


The Tomenosuke Exclusive All White Hi-Def vinyl figure is limited to just 50 figures, comes signed and numbered by kaNO (see below), and will go on sale Saturday, October 3rd. There’s been no word yet on the All White Hi-Def figure’s price, but we should know soon.


According to Hida Takayama, the owner of Tomenosuke, the Japanese store WILL be accepting orders from overseas for the All White Hi-Def vinyl figure. Boba-Def - Hi-Def Vinyl Figure Star Wars Colorway by kaNO

Star Wars + kaNO has The Blot very, very excited for this upcoming Hi-Def colorway. Officially being release next week at San Diego Comic Con 2009, this Hi-Def Star Wars colorway, also known as Boba-Def, looks sick! (link) As you all know, I love tribute colorways, so of course I’m all over this one. Boba Fett has always been one of favorite Star Wars characters (second only to Lando Calrissian naturally), and his easily identifiable green, red and grey color scheme is perfect for any vinyl figure’s alternative colorway.


kaNO’s Hi-Def Star Wars colorway has a limited run of just 150 figures and will retail for somewhere around $75-100. While being released at Comic-Con, Boba-Def is not a SDCC 09 exclusive. Only a limited supply of Hi-Def’s third colorway will be available at the Con. The remaining figures will go on sale to the general public soon after the convention. Hi-Def OG Colorway by kaNO

ToyQube is preparing to release kaNO’s 2nd Hi-Def vinyl figure. The Hi-Def OG colorway is the follow up to NYCC's very popular Black Edition Hi-Def and it will soon be available for pre-order at ToyQube.com.


The OG Hi-Def is 10 inches of fully articulated vinyl and comes equipped with records and a gray M-65 jacket. kaNO’s Hi-Def OG colorway is limited to just 200 pieces and will sell for $75 each. The Blot actually likes this colorway much better than the Black on Black New York Comic Con exclusive figure because it’s easier to see all the amazing detail work on Hi-Def’s body. This is definitely another great figure by kaNO!

kaNO x Toy Qube New York Comic Con Exclusive Black Edition Hi-Def

This weekend kaNO is debuting his third figure, Hi-Def, at the 2009 New York Comic Con. This all new vinyl figure is 10 inches tall, comes fully articulated and is equipped with records and an actual M-65 military jacket. In collaboration with ToyQube, kaNO will be releasing what I hope will be the first of many Hi-Def colorways at New York Comic Con – an all Black Edition.


There will only be 100 of the Black on Black Edition NYCC Exclusive Hi-Def vinyl figures made, and each will retail for $85.00. You can be the first to purchase one of these highly detailed figures this weekend at ToyQube’s NYCC Booth # 870. The remaining figures will be available to collectors not in the New York area on ToyQube’s online store as early as this weekend.

Fans attending New York Comic Con 2009 can also meet kaNO and have their Hi-Def figures autographed at the ToyQube booth on Saturday, February 7th from 10-12.
