That’s because the matching Giant Robot Girl and Giant Robot Boy sofubi mini figures will be available exclusively at Giant Robot’s SDCC booth #1729.

Sold individually, fans can purchase Giant Robot Girl and Giant Robot Boy in Glow in the Dark soft Japanese vinyl for $12 each, or in Clear Pink or Silver for $10 each. Sculpted by Macsorro and produced by Science Patrols, these figures stand 2.25” tall and are articulated at the head.

Year of the Pig Hyperactive Monkey and Friends Sofubi Mini Figure Lucky Envelopes by Umi Toys Hawai’i

To celebrate the Chinese New Year 2019 - The Year of the Pig, Umi Toys Hawai’i has teamed up with Hyperactive Monkey to release a very special series of lucky envelopes. Each lucky envelope was handmade by Hyperactive Monkey and comes with a laser engraved wooden coin and either a red or gold Hyperactive Monkey and Friends Sofubi Mini Figure. Each mini vinyl figure stands 2.25” tall, is cast in soft Japanese vinyl, and comes packaged in a bag with a header card and a sticker. This special lucky envelope release is limited to just 12 pieces and was sold exclusively at the Umi Toys Hawai’i online store for just $15!

Sadly, the limited edition red lucky envelopes sold out almost immediately upon release. But The Blot has some good news! Umi Toys Hawai’i has made more Hyperactive Monkey and Friends Sofubi Mini Figures available. There’s not enough envelopes or gold laser etched wooden coins for all the soft Japanese vinyl figures, but you will still get a random gold or red sofubi figure in one of four character designs.

Check out the new Hyperactive Monkey and Friends Sofubi Mini Figures, which are debuting exclusively at Designer Con 2018! This exciting new series of figures includes Shao Lu, Shao Mei, Chiba Saru, Chibi Saru, Lil’ Boss Bot Girl and Lil’ Boss Bot Boy. Jerome Lu of Hyperactive Monkey explained the inspiration of these new sofubi mini figures – “When I was young and my dad would go to Japan on business trips sometimes he’d bring me back a sofubi figure from one of favorite Super Sentai series and I became instantly hooked on collecting them. I’ve been a fan of the craftsmanship and quality forever. It has taken over two years from start to finish to get these made and I couldn’t be more happy how they turned out. It’s truly been a global labor of love for all those involved.”

The Designer Con 2018 Exclusive Hyperactive Monkey and Friends Sofubi Mini Figure Series will be available in three unpainted colorways – Green, Tan and Translucent Red – exclusively at the Hyperactive Monkey DCon booth #1118.
