NibiruanMacaroni Custom Vinyl Figure by Nerviswr3k x GrapeBrain Rage

Artist Nerviswr3k has teamed up with Japan’s GrapeBrain Rage to release this awesome NibiruanMacaroni custom figure! For this release, Nerviswr3k took GrapeBrain Rage’s Macaroni sofubi figure and infused it with his own character, the Inner Child. With this NibiruanMacaroni custom figure it now looks like the Inner Child is wearing a Macaroni suit!

These amazing NibiruanMacaroni Custom Vinyl Figures by Nerviswr3k stand 3” tall and feature epoxy resin, polymer clay and acrylic paint on a soft Japanese vinyl figure. This rad collab is limited to just 20 pieces – 10 Red Edition and 10 Secret Colorway Edition. The 10 Red Edition figures will go on sale at between 12pm – 1pm MST on Thursday, November 25th (aka Thanksgiving) via Instagram live on the Nerviswr3k Instagram page for $200. Toy Review: Inner Child Vinyl Figure by Nerviswr3k

The Blot was beyond excited to get the opportunity to review Nerviswr3k’s first production vinyl figure, the Inner Child! I’ve been a fan of his custom work for years, and from the photos I’d seen this figure looked handmade. Shocking as it may be, the figure surpassed even my high expectations! I seriously can’t get over how much this 4” figure looks like one of Nerviswr3k’s custom pieces.

Produced by SubUrban Vinyl, the Inner Child’s QC is pretty much perfect. The paint application is impeccable and the factory did a great job putting these figures together. I love the expression on the Inner Child’s face, and the teeth on his costume are actually sharp (but not that sharp)! With all of the texture on this sculpt, if I didn’t know any better I’d think this was a Japanese sofubi release. You just don’t see this level of detail in western figures these days.

Even though Inner Child is only 4” tall, it’s got some serious heft to it. As you can tell from these photos, it looks way bigger than your standard 3” Dunny even though it's just 1” taller. I’ve also posed it with Gary Ham’s Wooper Looper and Brandt Peters's Stingy Jack to give you a feel of how awesome Inner Child would look in your collection! I think these kind of photos help put new releases in perspective since so many of us now shop almost exclusively online and never get to see these awesome designer art toys in person before taking the plunge to spend our hard earned money on them. As you can see, this figure lives up to the hype!  So what are you waiting for already!?!

When The Blot first saw pictures of this figure from Designer Con 2014 I was blown away. I couldn’t believe Inner Child was a product piece because of how much it looked like one of Nerviswr3k’s handmade custom figures. It’s truly amazing how they were able to recreate Nerviswr3k’s sculpt into a production piece. You just don’t see this type of detail every day.
