James Bond ‘64 DB5 Screen Print by Lyndon Willoughby x Bottleneck Gallery

James Bond ‘64 DB5 Screen Print by Lyndon Willoughby x Bottleneck Gallery

Bottleneck Gallery is launching an exciting new James Bond inspired screen print series by artist Lyndon Willoughby! It will explore some of the slick rides from one of the longest running spy series of all time. For the artist’s first release, Willoughby spotlights the absolutely iconic 1964 Aston Martin DB5. As BNG explained, “Lyndon has provided some fun pop culture context for the ride, but the car is the star of his print, and we’re stoked for how the print pops in person!”

‘64 DB5 by Lyndon Willoughby is a 24”x18” hand numbered James Bond screen print. Limited to 100 pieces, it will go on sale at 12pm ET on Tuesday, December 13th, at BottleneckGallery.com for $45.

Threadless - Pop Culture Villains T-Shirt “Shoot the Baddies” by Olly Moss

Olly Moss, the same artist who created the amazing Lost ARG screen print “Locke’s Secret,” recently had a t-shirt he created for Threadless reprinted. Mr. Moss’ star is definitely on the rise, and I’ve got a feeling Lost fans from around the globe will want to pick up this awesome pop culture inspired tee! Olly’s “Shoot the Baddies” features some of the vilest villains in all of pop culture and some of my favorites, including Darth Vader, a Terminator robot, Freddy Kruger, Megatron, Godzilla and a Goomba.

Moss also threw in a James Bond villain, an alien from the video game Space Invaders and a zombie. The Blot wants to know, what bad guy would you have included if you had designed the shirt?

You can purchase the villains themed t-shirt “Shoot the Baddies” at Threadless.com for $18. The shirt comes in both guys and girls styles, sizes S-3XL.

Who Watches The Watchmen - New Movie Trailer

For this week and this week only, The Blot is going to try something different. I’m going to have a different topic each day with corresponding posts. No clue how it’s going to work but let’s try it out anyway. As you can probably guess, today is all about Watchmen.

Watchmen - Blood Splattered Smiley Face logoIf you saw Quantum of Solace this past weekend then you got to see the newest trailer for the upcoming DC Comics movie Watchmen directed by Zack Snyder. The trailer is absolute genius, and was so good I almost cried. True story. Now I’m kind of worried about what the effect the actual movie will have on me. Watchmen is an amazing story and is so much more than your typical heroes in spandex narrative. Thankfully, the movie appears to be living up to the high standards set by the comic book series way back in 1987. You can watch the newest Watchmen trailer below or go here to see a much larger version.

Watchmen premieres on March 6th, 2009.

James Bond 007: Quantum of Solace Final Theatrical One Sheet Movie Poster

While I have always enjoyed the 007 film franchise and really loved 2006’s re-start of the series starring Daniel Craig as the debonair British secret agent James Bond, nothing I’ve seen concerning the Quantum of Solace has really gotten me excited for this, the 22nd James Bond film.

James Bond 007: Quantum Of Solace Final Theatrical One Sheet Movie Poster
The trailer made the film look just like any other generic action flick and the movie’s final theatrical one sheet promo poster (which you can see above) is a total snoozer. The color of it is bland and worst of all, it’s just plain boring. Didn’t anyone tell Craig that Bond always holds his gun up in the films’ movie posters? I think if the franchise is really trying to regain that old school, retro feel they should have gone back to the 70’s style James Bond movie posters with those groovy multi-colored illustrations.

Quantum of Solace sneaks into theaters on November 14, 2008.

Bond, James Bond

EON Productions and the Broccoli family have finally released the first teaser promotional poster for the 22nd installment of the 007 franchise, Quantum of Solace. This just might be the worst title for a Bond film ever, but it’s pretty hard to compete with classic Bond titles such as Octopussy and Moonraker.

James Bond 007 - Quantum of Solace
The problem I’m having with the movie’s title is that every time I read or hear about Quantum of Solace I keep picturing the Pontiac Solstice, and that can’t be the connection they’re aiming for. Thankfully Daniel Craig is returning for his second film as Ian Fleming’s James Bond, so I’m anticipating this movie will be as good or better than 2006’s Casino Royale.
