The Crow Screen Print by Bruno Vergauwen x Bottleneck Gallery

The Crow Screen Print by Bruno Vergauwen x Bottleneck Gallery

Today, Bottleneck Gallery and artist Bruno Vergauwen are teaming up to release this killer new The Crow movie poster! As BNG explained, “James O’Barr’s The Crow was a provocative and nuanced comic that told the story of young lovers, Eric and Shelly, who are tortured and killed by a cretinous gang. Eric is resurrected by a crow, gains superpowers, dons the best goth makeup, and goes on the ultimate revenge mission. Bruno’s print perfectly encapsulates the perpetually rainy vibe of the film, while spotlighting the dreamy and moody Brandon Lee as the iconic Eric Draven.”

Brandon Lee “The Crow” Custom Dragon King Vinyl Figure by kaNO

This year marks the 20th anniversary of The Crow live action film, and kaNO pays tribute to its tragically taken too soon star Brandon Lee and the role that made him famous with this epic “The Crow” Custom Dragon King. Since all of the production Dragon King colorways pay homage to Bruce Lee, it was a pretty perfect idea of kaNO’s to use this figure as a platform for a piece dedicated to his son. What’s really crazy is kaNO’s first custom The Crow Dragon King was created way back in July 2012! You can see the original blog post here. The Blot’s just glad a run of these is finally being made!

The Brandon Lee “The Crow” Custom Dragon King by kaNO is limited to 20 signed and numbered hand painted vinyl figures, and includes a crow accessory sculpted by Steve Schumacher. Collectors can pick one up at noon EST tomorrow, Friday, February 28th, at the kaNO online store for $300 each.

“Devil’s Night” The Crow Screen Print by Rhys Cooper

Last night Nakatomi secretly dropped the third print in its The Crow Screen Print Series. Inspired by James O’barr’s legendary indie comic book series (and 1994 film), “Devil’s Night” by Rhys Cooper is freaking awesome! Just look at all that detail and crazy bloody crow on Eric Draven’s chest. Nakatomi has decided to give this massive 12”x36” 5-color The Crow print with a secret glow layer a timed release with a maximum numbered edition of 200 pieces (including artists copies).

This means the print will be available for purchase from now until midnight on November 1st, or until 200 prints have been sold in total. “The Crow” GID Screen Print by James Flames

“The Crow” Glow in the Dark Screen Print by James Flames

Nakatomi continues its sold out The Crow Screen Print Series with this glow in the dark offering by James Flames. Nakatomi first approached James about doing a print in this series several months ago after detecting a certain comic book sensibility to his work, and it definitely has a very comic book feel to it. The Blot loves how the ghost of Shelly is breaking the image’s plane by reaching out from the black border surrounding the print at Eric (aka The Crow), utilizing a very standard comic book effect. I have to say, Flames did a really great job paying tribute to James O’Barr’s source material!

The Crow” by James Flames is an 18”×24” 7 color glow in the dark screen print. Printed by Flames in his studio, this colorful print comes signed and numbered by the artist and has a limited edition run size of 145 pieces. Pick one up today when they go on sale at the Nakatomi online store today, Wednesday, September 12th, at 2pm CST for.

Brandon Lee “The Crow” Custom Dragon King by kaNO

Brandon Lee “The Crow” Custom Dragon King Vinyl Figure by kaNO

Yesterday, when kaNO dropped the photo above onto his Instangram account The Blot’s jaw hit the ground. A Brandon Lee “The Crow” custom Dragon King is just about the most perfect custom I could ever think of for kaNO’s popular Bruce Lee inspired vinyl figure. As you probably remember, Bruce’s son Brandon was fatally wounded during the filming of The Crow, a film based on the indie comic by James O’Barr. What better way to pay tribute to both Lees than with this beautiful The Crow custom Dragon King.

According to kaNO, he posted the photo to gage interest in a run of custom The Crow Dragon Kings. Well with 30 comments and almost 150 likes on Instagram, I’d say this piece definitely speaks to a large number of people in our little corner of the art world. But if you’re seriously about adding a beautiful piece like this to your collection, definitely shoot kaNO an email and let him know!

The Crow Screen Print by James O’Barr

The Crow Screen Print by James O’Barr

Tim Doyle and Nakatomi, Inc. have teamed up with James O’Barr, a true comic book legend, for its newest release and The Blot is super pumped! If you read comics in the ‘90s then you’re definitely familiar with The Crow (Eric Draven), O’Barr’s signature character, who was resurrected by a supernatural crow to avenge his and his fiancée’s murders. The Crow indie comic book proved so popular that it spurred multiple movies, novels and even a television series. Tim’s been hinting at this release for a while, but the actual image of the print has been under tight wraps…until now!

James O’Barr signing copies of The Crow screen print

The Nakatomi crew first met James at a Texas based comic convention. O’Barr was struck by the screen printing process and how rich the colors and textures could be. After a few more conversations the deal was sealed, and Nakatomi was finding itself planning a print with one of the most influential artistic voices to come out of indie-comics. This is a Texas collaboration at its finest!

The Crow by James O’Barr is an 18”x24” screen print that comes signed and numbered by the artist! Only 150 of these prints have been created, and they go on sale at the Nakatomi online store today, Tuesday, April 10th, at 2pm CST.
