DCon Summer 2021 Exclusive Back to the Future “McFly” Vinyl Figure by Joe Ledbetter x 3DRetro

As part of its Designer Con Summer 2021 event on Pop Shop Live this weekend (Aug 28-29), 3DRetro has teamed up with popular LA artist Joe Ledbetter to release this epic Back to the Future McFly vinyl figure. For this release, Ledbetter has applied his signature anthropomorphic style to a fly transforming it into a killer tribute to Michael J. Fox’s Marty McFly from the BTTF trilogy. Produced by 3DRetro and sculpted by Dave Bondi, McFly stands 5” tall and is limited to just 200 pieces. It will go on sale at 10am PT today, Saturday, August 28th, via the Pop Shop Live mobile app for $65.

DC Comics Artists Alley Batman GID Vinyl Figure by Joe Ledbetter x DC Direct – A DC Universe Exclusive!

This week has been a brutal week for DC Comics and its employees. Not only was a ton of editorial staff laid off, but evidently Warner Bros shutdown DC Direct completely and let go its entire team! The Blot was super bummed because I was such a fan of so many of their products, including the epic DC Artists Alley vinyl figure line. Since the line is probably ending, now is the time to get the very last colorway of Joe Ledbetter’s killer Batman vinyl figure! The Glow in the Dark Batman vinyl figure showcases Ledbetter’s vibrant mix of literalism and playfulness. This GID Batman is an anthropomorphic delight, bringing a cute but fierce design to the Dark Knight.

DCon 2019 Exclusive Be@rbrick Artist Series Box Set by MEDICOM TOY

Thanks to Hypebeast, we finally have an official photo of the Designer Con 2019 exclusive The Blot is dying to get his hands on – the Designer Con 2019 Exclusive Be@rbrick Art Series Box Set by MEDICOM TOY! This 100% Be@rbrick box set features designs from five of the biggest artists in the designer art toy scene - Steven Harrington, Tristan Eaton, Joe Ledbetter, Luke Chueh and kaNO. And according to Tristan, each of his Be@rbrick vinyl figures features a one of a kind design. What is a little unclear is where you can purchase this box set. It will be available either at the official Designer Con merchandise booth or the MEDICOM TOY booth (or both).

The Blot was pumped to learn that Toy Tokyo will be releasing this adorable New York Comic Con 2019 Exclusive DC Artists Alley Batman Bubble Gum Variant Vinyl Figure by Joe Ledbetter and DC Collectibles! This 6.5” vinyl figure is limited to just 500 pieces and can be purchased exclusively at the Toy Tokyo NYCC booth #588/688. And for the first time in 8 years Joe Ledbetter will be traveling to New York! He will be present at the Toy Tokyo booth on Friday, Saturday and Sunday to sign this limited edition colorway of his DC Comics figure. Each figure is made of PVC plastic, and comes in a 5th panel box packaging with artwork from Ledbetter.

DC Collectibles has unveiled a new wave of Black and White Variants for its DC Comics Artists Alley designer vinyl statues by Joe Ledbetter! This exciting line of DC Artists Alley statues is an artist focused collection that merges indie designs with the most iconic characters in the DC Universe. IKEA Art Event 2018 Designer Glass Figurines by Joe Ledbetter, Junko Mizuno, Michael Lau and More!

Today The Blot visited my local IKEA store to discover that the IKEA Art Event 2018 had hit Houston, Texas a few weeks earlier than advertised!!! The goal of this event is to “make art affordable for everyone while exploring the imaginative world connected to figurines.” For 2018’s Art event release, IKEA has teamed up with some of the biggest names in designer art toys – Joe Ledbetter, Junko Mizuno, Michael Lau, James Jarvis, Coarse, Nathan Jurevicius, Arkiv Vilmansa and Ludvig Löfgren – to create some amazing (and affordable) glass art figurines.

For the IKEA Art Event 2018, these eight artists were invited to the Målerås glass factory in southern Sweden to create contemporary glass figurines. Henrik Most, Creative Leader of this collection, explained, “we want to celebrate the amazing world of art collectibles and the imaginative universe connected to figurines, how they spark our fantasy, represent everyday and turn it upside down with fun and playfulness.”

While glass is a new material for many of the artists, IKEA was curious about how the different artists would apply their creativity, skill and knowledge to working with this unique substance. From a bunny to a, owl to fingers giving the peace sign, these detailed miniature glass sculptures have emerged from the imaginations of the contemporary urban artists. The IKEA Art Event 2018 will be available at all IKEA stores for a limited time for just $29.99 starting in April 2018 – but many stores already have these amazing designer glass figurines on store shelves now!

The IKEA Art Event 2018 Collection includes eight glass art multiples: a clear “Soul Toy” ghost by Michael Lau, a blue fox “Coarse” by Mark Landwehr and Sven Wasch, “Hira” by Arkiv Vilmansa, a green owl “Sutemos” by Nathan Jurevicius, the beautiful purple “Nocturnal” by Junko Mizuno, the “Evil Eye” by Ludvig Löfgren, a red “Bunny” by Joe Ledbetter, and a clear “Peace Sign” by James Jarvis.
