Sandwich City T-Shirt Series by Deli Fresh Threads

Deli Fresh Threads has released an awesome new collection of t-shirts entitled the Sandwich City Series, which mashes-up three cities’ signature sandwiches with the iconic logos of a professional sports team from each corresponding location. These designs are Deli Fresh Threads’ way of showing love to these wonderful sandwiches and the cities they call home. The “Cheesesteak” combines the Philly Cheeseteak with the Philadelphia Phillies logo, the “Cuban” is a mash-up of the Cuban Sandwich with the Miami Dolphins logo, and the “Pastrami on Rye” is a homage to the New York Knicks logo.

As a sports fans and a devoted sandwich eater, The Blot really loves the inspiration behind Deli Fresh Threads’ Sandwich City Series! I also think it’s pretty cool that Biggie of Deli Fresh Threads made sure each design paid tribute to a different sport, with teams from the NFL, NBA and MLB all represented in this release. NBA Pop! Series 1 Concept Artwork by Funko

Funko has teamed with MINDstyle (yes, that MINDstyle) to produce a line of officially licensed NBA Pop! vinyl figures. Series 1 includes Lebron James, Blake Griffin, Kevin Durant, Carmelo Anthony, Pau Gasol, Rajon Rondo, Kevin Love, Lamarcus Aldridge and the reigning MVP, Derrick Rose. While these figures look awesome, The Blot has just one question…where’s the beef? As in where’s Kobe Bryant!?! Pau’s great, but the Lakers fan in me needs a Kobe Pop! vinyl figure immediately. I guess I'll just have to wait until Series 2.

As a University of Texas alum, I also think it’s pretty cool to see two fellow longhorns included in this release, Kevin Durant and Lamarcus Aldridge. I guess they can’t say we’re just a football school anymore! Funko also leaked the preliminary artwork for a future Jeremy Lin NBA Pop! vinyl figure. This would make a pretty sweet New York Comic-Con 2012 exclusive wouldn’t it?

NBA Pop! Series 1 will begin shipping in late April to ensure they reach you in time to cheer on your favorite team during the playoffs!

Mitchell & Ness NBA Hall of Fame Fitted Hat Collection

This past Friday night in Springfield, Massachusetts was the 2008 Basketball Hall of Fame induction, which saw seven new members enshrined into the Hall. The 2008 class was headlined by NBA greats Hakeem Olajuwon, Patrick Ewing and Pat Riley, along with ESPN college basketball commentator Dick Vitale. (link)

To commemorate this amazing achievement, Mitchell & Ness is releasing a new line of fitted caps entitled the NBA Hall of Fame Collection. The Hall of Fame Collection's first two hats honor the induction of two of the NBA’s 50 Greatest Players of all time, Patrick Ewing and Hakeem “The Dream” Olajuwon.



These hats are extremely limited edition and can be found at the NBA Store in New York and other select Mitchell & Ness retailers. The hats are really detailed and include career stats, pictures of the players and team logos. If you’re a New York Knicks or Houston Rockets fan then I high recommend getting your hands on one of these sweet fitted hats before they’re gone forever.



Also inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame this year were former NBA player Adrian Dantley, Detroit Pistons and Shock owner Bill Davidson and former Immaculata University coach Cathy Rush.
