Molten Lava & Sewer Sludge Resin Dunnys by OsirisOrion

OsirisOrion has got a pretty exciting new release that dropped this week. He’s created two new resin Dunnys, Molten Lava and Sewer Sludge! Each 3” figure is hand cast and hand painted in some awesome metallic colors. The Molten Lava Dunny features flesh tones, metallic red and metallic yellow spray with a black wash. The Sewer Sludge Dunny features flesh tones, metallic green, blue and yellow spray with a black wash. Both look pretty awesome, especially the head sculpt, and will make an excellent addition to anyone’s custom Dunny collection.

OsirisOrion has created ten Molten Lava and Sewer Sludge Resin Dunnys each sold in two different ways. Five of each figure will be sold in a special set for $100. NYCC 12 Exclusive Space Junk Destroyers, Dust Mitez & Two-Faced Rotten Applez by Bad Applez Inc.

OsiRisORion and NeMo of Bad Applez Inc. have put together a crazy line-up of original custom resin figures for New York Comic-Con 2012. Along with some awesome one off Space Junk Destroyers and Two-Faced Rotten Applez, NYCC 2012 marks the world debut of BAI’s new Dust Mitez and Crabby Mitez!!!

The Blot’s been waiting for the release of a Dust Mitez figure for years, and from the look of this new figure it’s been well worth the wait. I was lucky enough to score a hand drawn Dust Mitez sticker from Nemo and Tenacious Toys a number of years ago and fell in love with the character. It’s just too bad I’m allergic to dust mites in real life. Pick up all of the killer resin figures seen here and so much more at the Tenacious Toys NYCC booth #3121 this weekend!

Resin is King Blind Box Series 2

The Resin is King Series is back and better than ever! Tenacious Toys and Dead Hand Toys have teamed up once again to curate an incredible new “Resin is King” blind box series featuring 16 talented artists. For Resin is King Series 2, each artist was asked to develop a new sub-3" resin figure and submit 10 pieces to the series using that sculpt. That’s 160 figures in all!!! The Blot honestly never thought we’d see a resin series to this magnitude, and it just shows how far the medium has come.

Resin is King Series 2 includes works by Brian Ahlbeck (of Dead Hand Toys), Dave Bondi, Rich Page (of UME Toys), NEMO and OsirisOrion (of Bad Applez Inc.), Jay222, Motorbot, Matt A*, Argonaut Resins, Selina Briggs (of The Jelly Empire), Kilroy III, Kris Dulfer (of KiD iNK iNDUSTRiES), JC Rivera, Christopher Moore (of We Become Monsters), Vanessa Ramirez, Scott Kinnebrew (of Forces of Dorkness) and Tim Stephson.

This incredible resin series makes its debut at Kidrobot NY with a very special release party on Thursday, October 4th, from 6-8pm, where many of the artists involved will be on hand to sign and sketch. Each blind box will retail for $25, and collectors can also purchase a full case of Resin is King Series 2 blind boxes, which is guaranteed to contain 1 piece from each of the 16 artists, for $400 at the Tenacious Toys online store. But that’s not all! Be on the lookout for the series’ Golden Ticket, which can be redeemed for a one of a kind 8” Tuttz resin figure by Argonaut Resins!

Resin is King Blind Box Series 1

When The Blot first heard about this series organized by Tenacious Toys and Brian Ahlbeck (aka Lysol), I got really excited. Resin definitely seems to be the future of designer art toys, and so it was only a matter of time until we got our very first resin blind box series! Resin is King Series 1 includes seven brand new 3” resin figures by seven talented artist: Motorbot, Jay222, Matt A*, Brian Ahlbeck (of Dead Hand Toys), Dave Bondi, Rich Page (of Ume Toys), and Bad Applez Inc (NEMO and OsirisOrion).

Just like the majority of resin figures out there, each piece is cast and painted by hand. Because of this, no two pieces will be identical. And remember the picture above only showcases one of the many colorways for each sculpt. Each Resin is King blind boxes will retail for $25, which includes one random figure, a ratio card and a sticker. There will also be one Golden Ticket randomly inserted into one of the 40 blind boxes in this series, which can be redeemed for a 7" Teuth resin figure by Brian Ahlbeck!

Sweet Demon Custom 8” Dunny by OsiRisORion

This weekend OsiRisORion is unleashing his newest creation at Tenacious Toys’ Candy Coated Custom Show on Saturday, April 21st, at The London Candy Company in New York City. The Blot’s always been a big fan of OsiRisORion’s custom figures, especially his Demon and Space Junk characters, so of course I’m really digging this brand new 8 inch custom Dunny entitled “Sweet Demon.”

This bad boy includes all of the classic elements that make an OsiRisORion custom great! Just check out those eyes, teeth and amazing paint job! I also love the peppermint the Sweet Demon is sporting in its chest to go along with the candy theme of the show. I’m just bummed I won’t be able to see this crazy looking custom in person, but hopefully those of you living in the NYC area will be able to hit up the show on Saturday!

“I’m a Bad Apple” Group Custom Show by Bad Applez Inc.

The creative minds behind Bad Applez Inc., OsiRisORion and NeMo, have put together an exciting online group show entitled “I’m a Bad Apple.” They selected over 30 artists to customize those little plastic apples you find at a craft store, and told the artists to do whatever they want with these common craft store items. From the few teaser images The Blot’s seen so far, these custom apples are going to be sick!

“I’m a Bad Apple” will go live this Valentine’s Day, February 14th, on the Bad Applez Inc. website. Head over there next Tuesday, and click on the “I’m a Bad Apple” gallery page where you’ll be able to see pictures of each piece from all 30 artists involved. Every custom apple from the show will also be available for purchase from the Bad Applez Inc. online store. So if you see a piece you like, definitely pick it up! On Halloween Bad Applez Inc. (aka OsiRisORion and NeMo) will be taking pre-orders for 2 new colorways of the company’s first resin figure, the Space Junk Destroyer! The colorways are entitled “Bloody Meat” and “Goblin,” which together have been dubbed the Halloween Edition. I really love all the crazy details OsiRisORion and NeMo put into this figure, it's almost like a different figure every time you rotate a SJD.

NYCC 2011 Exclusive Plaseebo x Bad Applez Inc Space Junk Destroyer

Space Junk Destroyer Resin Figure by NeMo & OsirisOrion

Bad Applez Inc, the new art toy company by NeMo and OsiRisORion, is about to release upon the world its very first designer resin figure! The Space Junk Destroyer will be making its debut at Rotofugi’s Toy Karma III one week from Saturday (on September 10, 2011). Two one of a kind Space Junk Destroyers will be available, with each figure hand painted by the company’s two founders: NeMo and OsiRisORion. Don’t these look crazy!?! Not only is the figure’s sculpt and design off the wall, but each artist did an incredible job applying their unique styles to this devilish monster.

This Friday at Toy Street Tenacious Toys will releasing a very special custom series by one of The Blot’s favorite artists, OsirisOrion. This isn’t your run of the mill collaboration, Benny of Tenacious Toys sent OsirisOrion four dozen of Buff Monster’s mini Ice Cream vinyl figures to be customized for this very special release. Yes, you read that right…four dozen! The OsirisOrion x Tenacious Toys Custom Buff Monster Mini Ice Cream Series includes four different shaped vinyl figures, with each shape featuring its own unique Osiris-style colorway. From left to right they are Sewer Sludge, Oil Slick, Molten Lava and Rainbow Cookie.

OsirisOrion x Skinner x Deadbear Studios Oil Slick Outsider Resin Figures

This is one of those releases The Blot’s been looking forward to for months! A while ago OsirisOrion let it slip on Twitter that he was working on a special collaboration with Skinner and Deadbear Studios (aka Motorbot), which to The Blot could only meant one thing…The Outsider! The Outsider was one of The Blot’s favorite sculpts from 2010 and I knew Osiris could do something really special with this articulated and highly detailed resin figure. Osiris finally unveiled what he’s been working on all this time, and he definitely didn’t disappoint with this four figure set of Oil Slick Outsiders.

Osiris’s oil slick design is definitely my favorite of his trademark (and quite unique) colorways, and I think it actually adds to the depth of The Outsider’s sculpt. I honestly didn’t think you could make The Outsider’s body look any crazier, but Osiris did it! The Oil Slick Outsider resin figure by Osiris Orion has a limited edition run size of 4 figures, and goes on sale this Friday for $100 each exclusively at Toy Street. The Blot is seriously jealous of the 4 lucky collectors who add this great collaboration to their collection.

NYCC 2010 Exclusive OsiRisORion x Dead Hand Toys Custom Gread Resin Figures

The Blot can't get over the sheer number of custom figures OsiRisORion will be releasing at New York Comic-Con 2010. Along with his custom Oil Slick Ripples, OsiRisORion has customized four different sets of Lysol and Dead Hand Toys' Gread resin figure. The four custom Gread sets are entitled “Metallic Nightshade,” “Molten Lava,” “Oil Slick,” and “Sewer Sludge.” While each set is better than the last, I think the “Metallic Nightshade” might be my favorite…then again, you can’t go wrong with OsiRisORion’s classic “Oil Slick” colorway. Custom Kaiju by OsirisOrion for Red Carpet Kaiju Show at TAG

This Saturday is the opening Reception for Toy Art Gallery’s newest group show Red Carpet Kaiju. TAG has invited some of the best monster and kaiju-inspired artists from around the world to showcase their unique visions and talents within this strange and wonderful sub-genre of art toys. OsirisOrion customized an army of killer looking kaiju for the show and these paintjobs were so beautiful The Blot just had to share them:
