Terminator 2 Movie Poster Screen Print by Craig Drake x Hero Complex Gallery

Hero Complex Gallery has just released this beautiful, officially licensed Terminator 2 movie poster by popular artist Craig Drake! The Blot loves the composition of Drake’s design, with the juxtaposition between Linda Hamilton’s Sarah Connor in the foreground and the shadow portrait of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s The Terminator in the background. Plus, does Drake’s take on Sarah Connor look bad ass or what!?!

Toy Review: EE Exclusive Terminator 2 “Final Battle” T-1000 ReAction Figures by Funko

Toy Review: Entertainment Earth Exclusive Terminator 2 “Final Battle” T-1000 ReAction Retro Action Figures by Funko

Today the beloved Terminator franchise makes its long awaited return to theaters with Terminator Genisys starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and Emilia Clarke. Is it just The Blot, or does it feel like The Terminator is everywhere this summer? Along with Genisys, which is a soft reboot of the franchise, both NECA and Funko are releasing San Diego Comic-Con 2015 Exclusive Terminator 2: Judgement Day action figures. Funko alone is releasing three SDCC exclusive Terminator 2 ReAction figures. So I thought what better time than now to do a proper review of these fantastic Entertainment Earth exclusive Terminator 2 “Final Battle” T-1000 ReAction figures!

James Cameron's Terminator 2 is still an amazing sci-fi action film that I put up against any other film in the genre. While Arnold’s T-800 may have been the star of the film, it was Robert Patrick’s liquid metal shapeshifting T-1000 that stole the show! To this day I can remember sitting in the theater watching T2 and being blown away by how they transformed Patrick’s body throughout the film. So it’s really cool that these EE Exclusive Terminator 2 ReAction figures revisit some of the film’s coolest T-1000 transformations!

Toy Review: Entertainment Earth Exclusive Terminator 2 “Final Battle” T-1000 ReAction Retro Action Figure by Funko

The Blot has been a huge fan of Funko’s Kenner inspired ReAction toy line from the very beginning. These retro figures are based on Kenner’s limited articulation action figures of the ‘70s and ‘80s, which made up for the non-articulated knees and elbows with highly detailed body sculpts and killer blister card artwork. These Terminator 2 figures fit that description to a T! The key here is not caring that none of Funko’s ReAction figure head sculpts look anything like the actors they are based on. It’s intentional on Funko’s part, and helps give these figures their retro feel.

Toy Review: Entertainment Earth Exclusive Terminator 2 “Final Battle” T-1000 ReAction Retro Action Figures by Funko

The Blot loves the extra molding Funko added to the “Final Battle” T-1000 to replicate the blasts it sustained while battling Arnold’s T-800. That was such a cool scene, and it actually looks like a retro way to recreate the fight. And how can you not love the all metallic silver "Final Battle Metal Form" T-1000 that recreates the evil robot’s malleable all metal form. I still remember the audience’s gasp when Robert Patrick went all metal and lost his corporal form. For such simple “retro” style figures, these retailer exclusive ReAction figures turned out sick!

What’s really great about these figures are their packaging. Funko spared no expense creating the full color backing boards, which include live still photos from the movie that match each limited edition variants. And like all figures from the ‘70s and ‘80s there’s a checklist on the back of all the figures in the collection. If you’re a collector of Terminator toys and are already planning to pick up Funko’s San Diego Comic-Con 2015 releases, then you will definitely want to buy these Entertainment Earth exclusives!

Each Entertainment Earth Exclusive Terminator 2: Judgement Day “Final Battle” T-1000 ReAction Retro Action Figure stands 3¾” tall, includes 5 points of articulation and comes packaged on a full color “retro” blister card. These figures are in stock, and can be purchased exclusively at the Entertainment Earth online store for $12.99 each here.

SDCC 15 Exclusive Terminator 2 “Hole in Head” T-1000 ReAction Retro Action Figure by Funko & Super7

San Diego Comic-Con 2015 Exclusive Terminator 2 “Hole in Head” T-1000 ReAction Retro Action Figure by Funko & Super7

Funko has unveiled their fourth batch of San Diego Comic-Con 2015 exclusives, and their third SDCC exclusive ReAction figure is this bad ass Terminator 2 “Hole in Head” T-1000! The coolest part of T2 was the T-1000 ability to morph its body into different shapes and appearances, and this Comic-Con exclusive variant recreates one of the film’s most iconic scenes.

Each San Diego Comic-Con 2015 Exclusive Terminator 2 “Hole in Head” T-1000 ReAction Retro Action Figure stands 3¾” tall, includes 5 points of articulation and comes packaged on a full color “retro” blister card. Collectors can purchase this Comic-Con exclusive at the Funko SDCC booth.

Terminator 2: Judgment Day Screen Print by Grzegorz Domaradzki

Terminator 2: Judgment Day Standard Edition Screen Print by Grzegorz Domaradzki

This Tuesday, January 13th, Grey Matter Art will release the second and final screen print in its awesome Terminator dyptich by Grzegorz Domaradzki (aka Gabz)! The Blot was wondering how Gabz could top his first Terminator movie poster (originally seen here), but boy did he do it. I love how these two images fit together with the red smoke engulfing the stark images of the two Terminator robots. This might just be Grey Matter Art’s best release since the fledgling company launched less than a year ago.

Terminator Dyptich Screen Print Series by Grzegorz Domaradzki - Terminator & Terminator 2: Judgment Day

Terminator 2: Judgment Day by Grzegorz Domaradzki is a 24”x36” hand numbered screen print. The Regular Edition has a limited edition run size of 325 pieces and will retail for $50, while the Variant is limited to 175 pieces and will retail for $75. There is also a super limited Foil Edition Variant limited to just 50 that will retail for $125. Terminator 2 Screen Print by Tom Whalen

Terminator 2: Judgment Day Screen Print by Tom Whalen

At a random time today, June 2nd, Mondo will be releasing this awesome Terminator 2: Judgment Day screen print by Tom Whalen! Originally released as part of Frightmare 2014, this poster pretty much sums up the badassery that is James Cameron’s 1991 classic, T2.  It's just too bad all of the subsequent Terminator films haven't been this good.

“Terminator 2: Judgment Day” by Tom Whalen is a 24”x36” hand numbered screen print. It has a limited edition run size of 425 pieces and will retail for $50 exclusively at the Mondo online store.

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles Debuts This Weekend On FOX

While The Blot has no idea if it’s going to be good or not, I wanted to remind readers that the new Terminator television show, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, debuts this weekend with a two night premier on FOX. The first episode is this Sunday, January 13th at 8/7 Central and the second episode is Monday, January 14th at 9/8 Central.

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles
The show picks up after events in Terminator 2: Judgment Day (commonly referred to as T2) and unfortunately does not star the Governator Arnold Schwarzenegger. The new show stars Lena Headey (300) as Sarah Connor (the role made famous by Linda Hamilton), Thomas Dekker (Heroes, Honey, I Shrunk the Kids) as John Connor and Summer Glau (Firefly, Serenity) as Cameron Phillips, a reprogrammed Terminator from the future sent back in time to protect John Connor by any means necessary. Since it hasn’t premiered yet we’ll have to just go with FOX’s description of the new show:

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles

At the end of Terminator 2: Judgment Day, Sarah vanquished the Terminator sent from the future to kill her teenage son, John. Sarah and John now find themselves alone in a very dangerous, complicated world. Fugitives from the law, they are confronted with the reality that still more enemies from the future, and the present, could attack at any moment.

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles reveals what happens when Sarah stops running and goes on the offensive against an ever-evolving technological enemy bent on destroying her life, and perhaps the world. Her son, 15-year-old John Connor, knows that he may be the future savior of mankind, but is not yet ready to take on the mantle of leadership that he's told is his destiny. John finds himself inextricably drawn to Cameron, an enigmatic and otherworldly student at his high school, who soon proves to be much more than his confidante - she assumes the role of Sarah and John's fearless protector. On their trail are not only threats from the future, but an intelligent and tough FBI agent, James Ellison (Richard T. Jones), who soon becomes a powerful ally. (link)
