The Rocketeer Screen Print by Anthony Petrie x Bottleneck Gallery

Bottleneck Gallery and artist Anthony Petrie take us to the skies with this new The Rocketeer screen print! AS BNG explained, “1980’s pulp hero, Cliff Secord, is one of our favorite takes on the heroes without powers genre. Cliff’s many adventures as the righteous Rocketeer capture the true essence of pulp stories, and Anthony’s print is a full metal ode to Cliff and his trusty jetpack. Using an art deco and metal motif, Anthony’s print is an awe-inspiring mix of both his unique aesthetic and the world of the Rocketeer.

The Rocketeer by Anthony Petrie is a 24”x36” hand numbered screen print with metallic shimmer. The Regular Edition is limited to 125 pieces and will retail for $60, while the Variant is limited to 50 pieces and will retail for $75. There is also a super cool Aluminum Print on a 2mm thick aluminum panel with archival pigment inks, and a Multi-Layer Acrylic Print on three layers of acrylic panel with archival pigment inks. The Rocketeer Screen Print by Raid71 x Bottleneck Gallery

It’s SDCC 2024 week and to celebrate, Bottleneck Gallery is releasing a ton of new comic book and pop culture inspired prints! Check out this amazing The Rocketeer screen print by one of The Blot’s favorite artists, Raid71! As Bottleneck explained, “Raid71 pays tribute to an iconic pulp hero with his newest print for The Rocketeer! Appearing in comics in the early 1980s, The Rocketeer brought a flying everyman (without powers!) pulp hero to comics. SDCC 2021 Exclusive Funko Pop! & Vinyl Soda Figures

As part of Comic-Con@Home 2021, Funko will be releasing over 50 new San Diego Comic-Con 2021 Exclusive Vinyl Soda and Pop! vinyl figures! This includes characters from your favorite comic books (Marvel and DC Comics), movies (Harry Potter, Star Wars, The Suicide Squad, and Jay and Silent Bob), animated cartoons (The Simpsons, Masters of the Universe, G.I. Joe and Transformers), Disney (Mickey Mouse and Alice in Wonderland) and more!  There’s even a new line of Tokidoki Pop! figures that I know designer toy collectors will not want to miss! There is a catch though – these SDCC exclusives are now being branded FunKon Summer 2021 exclusives and will be going on sale the first week of August (Aug 4th, 5th, 6th) at Funko.com and participating retailers.

Influential Figures Solo Art Show by Lou Pimentel at Gallery1988

This Friday, January 8th, Lou Pimentel’s new solo art show, Influential Figures, opens at Gallery1988 in Los Angeles.  For this exciting new show, Lou has created 37 original watercolor paintings inspired by vintage action figures and pop culture icons.  Each watercolor painting ranges in size from 6”x9” to 11”x14” and is then mounted onto a laser cut backer board with a silk-screened wood back. The corresponding classic vintage-style action figure is then mounted onto the art with a blister to make the final pieces.

Originally dubbed Vintage Gold, the Influential Figures art show, curated by DKE Toys, is a continuation of the series that premiered at New York Comic Con in 2018 with the first 20 pieces (seen here) and followed by another 20 pieces for NYCC 2019 (seen here).  The complete show will be available for viewing and sale at gallery1988.com starting at 12pm PST on Friday, January 8th. Following the virtual launch, at 1:30pm PST Gallery1988 is hosting an Instagram livestream virtual gallery tour with artist Lou Pimentel and Jensen Karp at Instagram.com/Galleries1988.

WonderCon 2019 Exclusive The Rocketeer Screen Print by James Silvani x Cyclops Print Works x Disney

Cyclops Print Works will be setting up shop at WonderCon 2019 this weekend where they will be releasing some really awesome exclusives. That includes this fun Disney screen print “The Rocketeer” by artist James Silvani.

The Rocketeer Be@rbrick Vinyl Figures by Medicom Toy x Disney

Now here’s a really cool release that I know will excite both Disney fans and comic book collectors! Medicom Toy has announced it is releasing an officially licensed The Rocketeer Be@rbrick 400% and 100% Be@rbrick 2 Pack. The figures are based on the beloved live action Disney film that was released in 1991, which in turn is based on the iconic comic book character created by legendary writer/artist Dave Stevens. Each figure stands 11” and 3” tall respectively.

Classic Sci-Fi Mystery Minis Blind Box Series by Funko

Funko has announced their newest line of Mystery Minis blind box series, and it has to be setting some kind of record for most licensed properties ever in a blind box toy line! The Classic Sci-Fi Mystery Minis Series includes adorable 2.5” versions of iconic characters from science fiction movies and television shows such as Predator, Alien, Mars Attacks Alien, Judge Dredd, Robby the Robot, Robocop, Star Trek’s Spock, B-9 from Lost in Space, Tron, Metaluna Mutant, E.T., The Rocketeer, and Mal and Jayne from Firefly/Serenity!

The Classic Sci-Fi Mystery Minis Series also includes a couple of sweet glow in the dark, clear, metallic and blood splattered variants. While most figures have a 1/12 ratio, there are a few harder to find designs that feature 1/36 and 1/72 ratios making this one of the harder Mystery Minis Series to complete.
