NYCC 2018 Exclusive Firefly Screen Print by Tracie Ching x Spoke Art

Spoke Art will be at New York Comic Con once again this year, and they’re bringing with them some incredible exclusives, like this fantastic Firefly print by Tracie Ching! What a beautiful tribute to Joss Whedon’s cult classic sci-fi western television show. This limited edition screen print will come signed and numbered, and will go on sale Thursday, October 4th, at the Spoke Art NYCC booth #675.

Previews Exclusive Firefly Jayne Cobb with Hat Legacy Collection 6” Action Figure

Like any good Firefly fan, The Blot prefers my Jayne Cobb wearing his signature knitted hat! So I was really excited to find out Funko was teaming up with Diamond Comics’ Previews to release a variant Jayne Cobb Firefly Legacy Collection 6” action figure that includes his trademark orange and yellow pom beanie. Now this is how every Jayne figure should look!

The Previews Exclusive Firefly Jayne Cobb with Hat Legacy Collection action figure stands 6” tall, features over 20 points of articulation, and comes with three character specific accessories, including his trusty Callahan Full-bore Auto-lock, nicknamed “Vera”, all packaged in a full color window box. While this figure is not expected to ship to local comic book and specialty stores until June 2015, you can pre-order one now from Entertainment Earth for $19.99 here.

Firefly Legacy Collection 6” Action Figure Series 1 by Funko

While Funko’s Legacy Collection 6” action figures look really nice, except for Game of Thrones The Blot’s been pretty underwhelmed by the properties Funko has chosen for the toy line. That all changed last weekend when Funko unveiled their new line of Firefly Legacy Collection action figures at Toy Fair 2015! I’m a huge fan of Joss Whedon’s Firefly/Serenity universe, and am so excited to see Captain Mal and the crew of the Serenity finally get released as highly articulated 6” scale action figures. Firefly Legacy Collection Action Figure Series 1 includes Malcolm Reynolds, Jayne Cobb, Zoe Washburne, Hoban Washburne and Kaylee Frye.

Each Firefly Legacy Collection action figure stands 6-6.5” tall, features 20+ points of articulation, and includes character specific removable accessories all packaged in a full color window box. While these awesome Television accurate figures are not expected to hit store shelves until May 2015, you can pre-order the entire Firefly wave from Entertainment Earth for $19.99 each here.

Classic Sci-Fi Mystery Minis Blind Box Series by Funko

Funko has announced their newest line of Mystery Minis blind box series, and it has to be setting some kind of record for most licensed properties ever in a blind box toy line! The Classic Sci-Fi Mystery Minis Series includes adorable 2.5” versions of iconic characters from science fiction movies and television shows such as Predator, Alien, Mars Attacks Alien, Judge Dredd, Robby the Robot, Robocop, Star Trek’s Spock, B-9 from Lost in Space, Tron, Metaluna Mutant, E.T., The Rocketeer, and Mal and Jayne from Firefly/Serenity!

The Classic Sci-Fi Mystery Minis Series also includes a couple of sweet glow in the dark, clear, metallic and blood splattered variants. While most figures have a 1/12 ratio, there are a few harder to find designs that feature 1/36 and 1/72 ratios making this one of the harder Mystery Minis Series to complete.

The Classic Sci-Fi Minis Blind Box Series is not scheduled to hit store shelves later this month (September 2014), but you can pre-order it now from Entertainment Earth! Firefly Pop! Vinyl Figures by Funko

Finally! The Blot has been anxiously awaiting this new line of Firefly Pop! Television vinyl figures ever since Funko teased it almost a year ago. The Blot’s a huge fan of Joss Whedon’s sci-fi western, and it’s great to see Firefly/Serenity live on in Funko’s Pop! and ReAction figure toy lines. Firefly Series 1 includes Captain Mal, Jayne, Zoe, Wash and Kaylee. “Lost my love, lost my land. Lost the last place I could stand. There's no place I can be, since I've found Serenity. And you can't take the sky from me.”

Each Firefly Pop! vinyl figure stands 3.75” tall, features one point of articulation and comes packaged in a full color displayable window box. SDCC 14 Exclusive Firefly Mal & Jayne ReAction Retro Action Figures by Funko & Super7

If like The Blot you’re loving Funko and Super7’s new Kenner inspired line of ReAction retro action figures, then you’re really going to wish you were attending San Diego Comic-Con 2014 because both toy companies will releasing a ton of SDCC 2014 exclusive ReAction figure colorways. So far, my personal favorite Funko exclusive are these Firefly ReAction figures! The Comic-Con 2014 Exclusive Captain Malcolm Reynolds comes with a real cloth brown coat, while Jayne comes with his signature knitted hat. These are some definitely must gets for The Blot.

Each figure features 5 points of articulation and comes packaged on a “retro” blister card. Collectors can pick up this limited edition release exclusively at the Funko SDCC booth.

Firefly ReAction Retro Action Figures by Funko & Super7

If you loved the original Aliens ReAction Figure toy line from Funko and Super7 as much as The Blot then you’ll be excited to see even more waves have been announced! Thanks to Entertainment Earth we now have pictures of the upcoming Firefly ReAction Figures, which includes (most of) the crew of the starship Serenity: Malcolm Reynolds, Jayne Cobb, Zoe Washburne, Hoban Washburne and Kaylee Frye. Firefly is still The Blot’s favorite Joss Whedon creation (sorry movie Avengers). Personally I can’t get enough Firefly/Serenity, whether it be tie-in comic books, t-shirts, statues or toys. Here’s hoping we get a second wave of Firefly Reaction figures to round out the show’s large ensemble cast.
