The Wolverine Soundtrack Picture Disc Vinyl Record 2xLP by Spacelab9

SNIKT! Appearing on vinyl for the very first time, The Wolverine Original Motion Picture Soundtrack Picture Disc Vinyl Record Double LP will be available exclusively at Hot Topic (and the Spacelab9 online store) beginning Tuesday, May 26th. Produced by Spacelab9, The Wolverine Soundtrack Picture Disc 2xLP includes the original 22 tracks from the soundtrack album by renowned composer Marco Beltrami (Hellboy, Terminator 3) plus the bonus track “Yukiko” which had been previously released as a digital-only track.

With several more superhero-related soundtrack releases on the horizon, Spacelab9 kicks off their “Heroes on Vinyl” Series with this beautiful picture disc that features artwork from the film’s theatrical one sheet movie poster. It’s kind of amazing how good Marvel’s most popular mutant looks on vinyl don’t you think!?!

The Wolverine Sumi-e Character Movie Posters Series 2 including Jean Grey!

With The Wolverine debuting in theaters tonight at midnight, I thought it only appropriate to highlight the film’s second wave of these beautiful The Wolverine sumi-e character movie posters! Sumi-e (or suibokuga) is a traditional Japanese ink wash painting technique and it is used masterfully here in creating these awesome one sheet movie posters. They also do a fantastic job setting the mood for the film, don’t you think?  That little splash of red is intense!

The Wolverine International Movie Posters

We’re just a few days away from the world premiere of The Wolverine!!! For decades now Wolverine has been Marvel’s most popular member of the X-Men, not to mention superhero in general. While the first Wolverine solo film, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, was good, The Wolverine looks incredible. And I really love the vibe of these international one sheet movie posters for the film. They do such a great job invoking the rage and ferociousness of Logan in this adaptation of the classic Chris Claremont /Frank Miller storyline.

The superhero film The Blot’s been looking forward to the most this summer is Marvel’s The Wolverine starring Hugh Jackman as Logan! Last November FOX released the killer The Wolverine character movie poster seen above designed using the ink wash painting technique known as sumi-e or suibokuga in Japanese. That poster proved so popular FOX decided to release an entire set of The Wolverine Sumi-e character one sheet movie posters! Pretty awesome, right!?!

This The Wolverine Sumi-e Character Movie Poster Set includes Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, Will Yun Lee as Silver Samurai, Svetlana Khodchenkova as Viper and Rila Fukushima as Yukio. The Wolverine Ninja Teaser Movie Poster

Wolverine surrounded by ninjas may make for a pretty striking image in a comic book, but as a teaser movie poster it’s kinda weak. The Blot’s been pretty impressed by all of The Wolverine movie posters released so far, but this one looks just a little too photoshopped for my taste. I don't know about you, but I could watch Hugh Jackman as Wolverine for years.  Hopefully FOX turns it around with some better posters soon!

The Wolverine International Movie Poster

The Wolverine looks pretty awesome, and I love how much they’re focusing on the samurai aspect of Wolverine’s history. It’s a little known part of his decades long past and a huge part of who Logan is. I’ve been told the Japanese kanji at the top of the one sheet movie poster stand for life and death, but obviously I don’t know that to be true. If so, it seems to fit really well with the trailers I’ve seen so far for The Wolverine. I really can’t wait to see this one!

The Wolverine Logan Pop! Marvel Vinyl Figure by Funko

Of all the comic book movies coming out this summer the one The Blot is looking forward to the most is The Wolverine! That wasn’t true until about a week ago when FOX started releasing all of these amazing trailers and posters for their newest X-Men film. Before that it was Iron Man 3, with Man of Steel in the lead for a brief hot minute. I’m sure all three films will be great, but The Wolverine just looks to have so much more potential! Released in conjunction with the film is this awesome Logan Pop! Marvel vinyl figure by Funko. Who needs a costume when you’ve got claws like Wolverine!?!

The Wolverine Logan Pop! Marvel vinyl figure bobble head by Funko stands 3.75” tall, features one point of articulation, and comes packaged in a full color displayable window box. Expect these to retail for around $9.99 when they hit store shelves later this summer.

New The Wolverine in 3D Teaser Character Movie Posters

Over the past two weeks FOX has really revved up their marketing of this summer’s X-Men spin-off The Wolverine by releasing three different movie posters and a teaser trailer! First up are these two awesome The Wolverine in 3D teaser one sheet movie posters. The Blot’s not all that thrilled to hear the film will be released in 3D, but I love this image of Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine with a katana sword in one hand and his claws extended on the other. These posters actually give me hope that The Wolverine is going to be a kick ass flick! At least this time FOX is basing the film on one of Marvel’s all time great storylines, Wolverine’s original journey to Japan.

The Wolverine International Teaser Movie Poster

Last night Fox released a killer new international teaser one sheet movie poster for this summer’s The Wolverine! From the few stills The Blot’s seen so far the X-Men spin-off looks fantastic. I love that they’ve transported Logan to Japan and all that comes with it. Hopefully they will be following the original Marvel Comics Wolverine min-series by Chris Claremont and Frank Miller, which was also set in Japan. That helped pave the way for the Wolverine we all know and love today, so I think it’s a good sign they’re taking Logan back to basics with this film. Less mutants, more action could equal an epic combination!

The Wolverine Teaser Movie Poster

Earlier this week FOX released the first movie poster for next summer’s surefire hit The Wolverine and it looks awesome! The teaser poster seen above feature’s Wolverine’s silhouette rendered in a traditional Asian watercolor style. The reason for this is most of the film is based on Chris Claremont and Frank Miller’s original 1982 Marvel limited series Wolverine, which features Logan traveling to Japanese on a crazy adventure. The Blot’s always loved Wolverine’s Japan based stories and his rich Japanese supporting cast, which includes Mariko Yashida, Yukio, Viper and the Silver Samurai.

Expect lots more coverage of The Wolverine over the next year here on TheBlotSays.com before the film slices into theaters on July 26, 2013.
