Zack Snyder’s Justice League Soundtrack 7LP Box Set by Mondo

Today, Mondo continues its DC Comics Universe movie soundtrack series with Tom Holkenborg’s nearly 4 hour, 7 disc soundtrack to the much talked about streaming phenomenon, Zack Snyder’s Justice League!  The Snyder Cut presented Holkenborg with the opportunity to build upon what he had started many years ago, with new skills and tools - this time with no other cook in the kitchen but his director and friend. 

As Mondo explained, “As pure as any film music expression has ever existed, Holkenborg’s nearly 4 hour opus is as bombastic and singular as the film it compliments, and we are honored to present the premiere physical release of this staggering work of expression.”

Released in conjunction with WaterTower Music, this limited edition collectible set features all four hours of Holkenborg’s score pressed across 7 180 gram vinyl discs (with a laser etched B-Side on the final disc) and housed in a beautiful black, white and silver foil stamped hard shell slipcase. Pearl Jam Gigaton Fine Art Print by Ken Taylor

As a diehard Pearl Jam fan, The Blot was really excited to learn the band had teamed up with artists the Ken Taylor, Ames Bros and Krzysztof Domaradzki to create fine art prints inspired by PJ’s first new album in seven years, Gigaton! These prints were originally to be released at a New York City pop-up shop the day of the album’s release, but those plans were put on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic. I guess New York’s loss is our gain as all three artists will be releasing their Pearl Jam Gigaton art prints online instead today, Monday, April 20th.

The Ken Taylor Pearl Jam Gigaton art print is a large format 30”x30” signed and numbered 7 color screen print on 100% cotton archival paper with hand deckled edges. This screen print is limited to 200 pieces and comes hand numbered. Ken Taylor’s copies will be the odd numbers and will come signed, while the Pearl Jam fan club, Ten Club, will be selling the even numbers at a later date and those will be unsigned. The artist copies will go on sale at 6pm EDT on Monday, April 20th, at BeyondThePale.com.au for $250.

MondoCon 2019 Exclusive 2001: A Space Odyssey Soundtrack Vinyl Records by Mondo

Mondo continues to unveil its diverse line-up of officially licensed exclusives for MondoCon 2019! Check out this really cool MondoCon 5 Exclusive 2001: A Space Odyssey Original Motion Picture Score on 2xLP vinyl records featuring a die-cut gatefold jacket designed by artist Matthew Woodson.

This MondoCon exclusive variant two disc set will be the first time the remastered soundtrack has been released on vinyl. Alex North’s iconic score was remastered at Abbey Road Studios and cut at 45 RPM. The 2001 soundtrack was then pressed on two 180 gram colored vinyl. It will also be available on two 180 gram black vinyl. It will be available exclusively at Mondo’s booth for $40.

Marvel's Iron Fist Screen Print by Matthew Woodson x Mondo

Last November, Mondo released a trio of vinyl soundtracks and posters for Netflix’s Marvel television series – Daredevil, Jessica Jones and Luke Cage – featuring stunning artwork by Matthew Woodson. All three are now proudly in The Blot’s screen print collection! Now later today, Danny Rand joins their ranks with Mondo’s vinyl and poster release for Marvel’s Iron Fist! What a perfect way to commemorate today’s release of The Defenders on Netflix. Now if only we could get a team screen print too!

Iron Fist by Matthew Woodson is an 18”x24” hand numbered screen print with spot varnish. Limited to 250 pieces, this poster will retail for $45. Marvel's Iron Fist Original Soundtrack LP ($25) features music by Trevor Morris, including “Come Down” by Anderson.Paak. The LPs cover artwork is by Matthew Woodson and was pressed on 180 gram green vinyl. It’s also available on 180 gram black vinyl.

Both the Iron Fist soundtrack and screen print will go on sale at noon CST today, Friday, August 18th, at the Mondo online store.

There are a number of awesome exclusives this year, including this awesome reissue of the original The Dark Crystal soundtrack in honor of the film’s 35th anniversary! This is the first time the soundtrack has been available on vinyl since the film’s original release. The Record Store Day 2017 Exclusive The Dark Crystal Original Soundtrack LP Vinyl Record features Richard Amsel’s original movie poster for the film as its cover artwork and is pressed on 140 gram “Crystal Clear” vinyl.

The Dark Crystal: The Original Soundtrack features Trevor Jones’ musical score written for the film, arranged specifically for an album listening experience. The album was recorded by the London Symphony Orchestra at the legendary Abby road studios in 1982. The 12” picture disc features two new recordings by Gerard, which were written to go with his new comic book series Cave Carson Has A Cybernetic Eye from DC Comics’ Young Animal imprint.

The Record Store Day 2017 Exclusive Young Animal Mixtape “Into The Cave We Wander” Vinyl Picture Disc was designed by Paul Rentler using Michael Avon Oeming's art from the new Cave Carson series as well as older Cave Carson artwork. Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me Soundtrack 2xLP Vinyl Record by Mondo x Sam Smith x Jay Shaw

Mondo has followed up its popular release of the Twin Peaks original score on vinyl with the release of the original motion picture soundtrack for Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me on vinyl!!! As Mondo explains, “Fire Walk With Me is an altogether more brooding affair than the Twin Peaks series soundtrack. Angelo Badalamenti won a Grammy for the title track of this LP and it’s not hard to see why; it’s dangerous, dark and bristling with smoky jazz so thick you can barely breathe. We went back to the master tapes in the Warner Archives and had this recut to fit across two LPs as the score clocks in at 51 minutes. It sounds incredible and punchy, but super nuanced, too.”

The Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me Original Motion Picture Soundtrack 2xLP comes housed inside a 425gsm gatefold sleeve housed inside a bespoke black die cut outer jacket with black spot varnish finish, complete with obi strip featuring sleeve notes by film critic Mark Kermode (approved by David Lynch and Angelo Badalamenti). The artwork for this release was designed by Sam Smith, while the layout and design was by Jay Shaw. The soundtrack is pressed on two 180g “Cherry Pie” colored vinyl records.
