Sprayed Away Series 1 Custom Resin Figures by Josh Mayhem x Tenacious Toys

Tenacious Toys is teaming up with Josh Mayhem to release a limited edition series of customs based on the 4” Toy2R SprayeeQ Mini Qee, and they look amazing!!! The Tenacious Toys exclusive Sprayed Away Series 1 features 12 unique, hand-customized resin figures in Josh Mayhem's signature “Blown Away” style. One of the 12 will be a randomly packed glow in the dark chase.

These Sprayed Away Series 1 Custom Resin Figures by Josh Mayhem will go on sale at 3pm EST today, Wednesday, December 19th, at the Tenacious Toys online store for $150 each.

Hellboy 5” Mini Qee Wave 2 Vinyl Figures by Toy2R & Dark Horse

Fans loved Dark Horse and Toy2R’s new line of Hellboy 5” Mini Qees they’ve decided to release a second wave of figures! For this release, Dark Horse has taken Mike Mignola’s signature creation and turned him into a chunkier and stylized version of the world’s favorite superhero demon. There are three colorways in Hellboy Mini Qee Wave 2: Horned Hellboy, Monotone Hellboy, and the blank all white DIY Hellboy.

SDCC 13 Exclusive Caveman Domo Qee 2” Vinyl Figure by Toy2R & Dark Horse

Personally, The Blot doesn’t get the Domo obsession, but there’s no denying the popularity of this Japanese television mascot. Once again Dark Horse and Toy2R are teaming up to produce limited edition San Diego Comic-Con exclusive Domo Qee vinyl figure. For 2013 they’re releasing the Caveman Domo Qee, which stand 2” tall, has a limited edition run size of 1,200, and will retail exclusively at the Dark Horse Comics SDCC booth for $8.99.

SDCC 13 Exclusive Hellboy Qee 5” Vinyl Figure by Toy2R & Dark Horse

In conjunction with the anticipated release of the all new Mike Mignola's Hellboy Qee 5” vinyl figures (seen here), Dark Horse and Toy2R are teaming up to produce this limited edition San Diego Comic-Con 2013 Variant Hellboy Qee! This SDCC Exclusive Hellboy Qee comes dressed in an officially licensed Comic-Con logo t-shirt! I don’t know why, but The Blot loves pretty much any exclusive that sports the Comic-Con logo. Hellboy 5” Mini Qee Vinyl Figures by Toy2R

The Blot won’t lie, I really don’t get this new Hellboy Qee release by Toy2R. Didn’t T2R already do this 5 years ago!?! This new collaboration with Mike Mignola and Dark Horse is a little chunkier and styalized. Plus, this is the first time a Hellboy Qee has been released in Toy2R’s 5 inch “Mini Qee” scale. There are three colorways in this Mini Qee release: Original, B.P.R.D. Edition, and Glow in the Dark.

Each Hellboy 5" Mini Qee vinyl figure is sold separately and features 3 points of articulation. While these are not expected to hit store shelves until July 2013, you can pre-order all three versions from Entertainment Earth for $15.99 each here.

NYCC 12 Exclusive Custom Vinyl Figures by VISEone

Along with the world debut of his awesome vinyl Tube Monsters, VISEone will also be bringing with him to New York Comic-Con 2012 some amazing customs sold exclusively at Tenacious Toys’ NYCC booth #3121. VISEone will have two custom Dunny series available for purchase (a Classic Mustard Dunny Tube Drip Series as well as a black Ink Tube Drip Dunny Series), along with a number killer Qee and Munny customs. VISEone has really perfected his trademark tube drip style, and it’s really taken customizing to another level.

NYCC 12 Exclusive Blue Pandaimyo Vinyl Figure by Jon-Paul Kaiser

Tenacious Toys has teamed up with artist Jon-Paul Kaiser and Toy2R to release a very cool New York Comic-Con 2012 Exclusive colorway of JPK’s Pandaimyo Mini Qee. The Pandaimyo Mini Qee features Jon-Paul Kaiser's classic black and white style, with blue accents on Pandaimyo's garments. Limited to 300 pieces, the NYCC 2012 Exclusive Blue Pandaimyo vinyl figure is a classic example of Jon-Paul’s amazing line work. There will be five colorways of this figure released in all, but only one’s a New York Comic-Con 2012 exclusive sold exclusively at Tenacious Toys’ NYCC booth #3121 for $28!

Mr. Pinkerton 5” Mini Qee by Scott Tolleson

Toy2R is teaming up with Scott Tolleson once again to bring another of Scott’s adorable creations to life! Preston T. Pinkerton, or just Mr. Pinkerton to his close friends, is the most intelligent and lovable hare in all the forest. He enjoys wearing his lucky pair of magic spectacles while skipping about on his many adventures. Wind him up and watch him hop, and your joy for Mr. Pinkerton will never stop.

The Mr. Pinkerton 5 inch Mini Qee vinyl figures will drop in late July in the Standard Edition Pink and the AniQee Blue colorways you see here. Grapes Bear 5" Mini Qee by Street Grapes

Toy2R unveiled its newest Mini Qee this week, and it really got The Blot’s attention. While I’m not usually into Qees, I found myself doing a double take after seeing the Grapes Bear by Street Grapes. I was not only interested in seeing more of the design, but finding out more about the artist involved. It turns out Street Grapes is an up and coming street artist and illustrator who was born and raised in Russia, but is now living in the United States.

Street Grapes combines hand drawn and graphic art together to make sophisticated and distinctive designs, and his art can now be seen in many parts of the US, from NYC to LA, as well as in other parts of the world. According to Toy2R, Street Grapes is influenced by many art forms ranging from classical Russian art and Medieval illustrations, to old-school graffiti. He enjoys the art of many people from all over the world, contemporary and classical.

The Grapes Bear is a funny little character who loves to travel around the world. Maybe you'll see him around next time you're in the streets. The Grapes Bear is scheduled to go on sale in mid-June as one of Toy2R's many summer releases and will retail for $28 each.

Support the Tenacious Toys x Scott Tolleson Noir Uncle Argh Qee Kickstarter Project – Only 5 Days Left!

You probably remember The Blot’s post last month on the exciting new Kickstarter project from Tenacious Toys and Scott Tolleson. The two had teamed up to produce a limited edition second colorway of Scott’s Uncle Argh Mini Qee. Well there’s less than 5 days left and the Kickstarter project is 96% funded. But it still needs your help to reach the finish line! Tenacious Toys is less than $250 away from starting production on its exclusive monochromatic Noir Edition colorway but it still needs a few more backers to bring this cute little figure to the toy craving masses. So let’s help them get there!

“Waves” Custom Qee by Matt JOnes

Over the weekend The Blot got introduced to Matt JOnes’ newest custom 8” Qee for the Heavy Metal Qee Project taking place now at Forbidden Planet in London and it blew me away. Entitled “Waves,” this Custom Knuckles Qee features waves both made of water and the ones you make using your hand. “Waves” is controlled by “Quite New,” who while rising up from the murky depths is seen waiving his hand in a welcoming gesture (while sporting a Lunartik t-shirt naturally). 

This fun custom can be purchased at the Lunartik online store for £1400, part of its proceeds going to the Garden House Hospice.

Pandaimyo 5” Mini Qee by Jon-Paul Kaiser

For some reason The Blot never posts enough about the amazing work Jon-Paul Kaiser does with both custom and production toys. The UK based artist has been releasing some amazing figures through Toy2R, and his latest is no exception! Meet Pandaimyo, a samurai panda you do not want to mess with! JPK’s unique black and white style really shines with this bad ass panda, and rumor has it that other members of his warrior clan will be released soon as well.

The Pandaimyo Mini Qee by Jon-Paul Kaiser stands 5” tall, retails for $28 each, and is expected to start hitting store shelves this summer.

Tenacious Toys Exclusive Uncle Argh Noir Qee by Scott Tolleson Kickstarter Project

The second colorway of Scott Tolleson’s popular Uncle Argh Mini Qee is in the works, but it needs your support to make it happen. This particular Kickstarter project is intended to fund an exclusive grayscale colorway, the Noir Edition, of Scott's 5" Uncle Argh Mini Qee. Toy2R will produce 500 of these figures in all, with all (minus the Kickstarter rewards) sold as Tenacious Toys exclusive. Everything for this project is ready to go, all that’s left is to raise the money! All funds raised through this Kickstarter project will be used to manufacture the Uncle Argh NOIR vinyl figures and cover their shipping from Hong Kong to the US.

The Blot’s a huge fan of both Scott Tolleson and Tenacious Toys, so here’s hoping these two forces can make this project happen. There’s still 34 days to go and the Noir Edition Uncle Argh Qee is almost funded, but there’s still a way to go! Star Wars 10-11-12: Jon Paul Kaiser x Toy2R x Yoyamart

UK artist Jon Paul Kaiser will be returning to the US for New York Comic-Con once again and this time he’s got something very special in store. On the opening night of NYCC 2012 there will be what The Blot can only assume from the teaser image above is a Star Wars themed show held at Yoyamart in conjunction with Toy2R. JPK has been releasing some amazing Star Wars customs over the past few years, and I can only imagine what he has in store for this event. Personally I would love a JPK Boba Fett production Qee, but that might only be a pipe dream! More details to come…

Jon-Paul Kaiser 36” Zombie Pirate Olaf the Mute Qee

Following in the footsteps of the Maori Warrior 36” Qee comes Jon-Paul Kaiser’s Zombie Pirate Olaf the Mute 36” Qee! It’s rare for a release to catch The Blot completely by surprise, but this one certainly did. Especially since Toy2R already announced one 36" Artist Qee by JPK last week. The fifth design in Toy2R’s 36” XL Scale Artist Qee Collection has a limited edition run size of just 36 pieces and will retail for $2,800.

The gargantuan crewmember of the Whispering Corsair, prized for his great strength and unwavering loyalty to Captain Stūrnbrau, was discovered upon a rocky island, blanketed in thick mists. Protecting his adopted home, Olaf attacked the crew with his bare hands. Despite being well armed with cutlass & musket, many of the Corsair’s crew were rendered in twain by the enraged assailant until the dark captain strode fearlessly up to Olaf and offered him passage on his ship. Olaf accepted and has proved his worth in many a skirmish; always at the head of the charge into battle, no matter the odds.

Jon-Paul Kaiser 36” Maori Warrior Qee

The fourth design in Toy2R’s upcoming 36" Artist Qee Collection has debuted online and it’s awesome! Jon-Paul Kaiser chose to honor the fierce Maori Warriors with entry in this series by incorporating their unique tribal tattoos. Maori tattoos are among the most distinctive tattoos in the world and have their own identity amongst the Polynesian tattoos. Tattooing is a sacred art among the Maori and is very beautiful, consisting of curved shapes and spirals in intricate patterns. Tā moko is the permanent body and face marking by the Māori. Traditionally it is distinct from tattoo and tatau in that the skin is carved by uhi (chisels) rather than punctured. This left the skin with grooves, rather than a smooth surface.

Standing a whopping 3 feet tall, Jon-Paul Kaiser’s Maori Warrior XL Scale Qee has a limited edition run size of just 36 pieces and will retail for $2,800.

David Horvath 36” Bossy Bear Qee

Yesterday, the third figure in Toy2R’s upcoming 36" Artist Qee Collection was officially revealed, and was there any doubt David Horvath’s 36 inch Qee design would be his popular Bossy Bear? At this point Bossy Bear has been produced in just about every size imaginable, from his original 4" vinyl figure to his 12" Monster Bossy Bear series. But The Blot’s pretty sure he’s never been like this before!

Standing a gigantic 3 feet tall, David Horvath’s Bossy Bear XL Scale Qee has a limited edition run size of just 36 pieces and will retail for $2,800. While the limited edition nature of these 36” Qees is quite impressive, I’m dying to know how well they’ve been selling with such a steep price tag. I have to imagine no store is just blindly pre-ordering these, and any purchases made placed at this point are by the artists’ diehard collectors. But either way I have to commend Toy2R for producing such an ambitious series!

Jason Freeny 36” Tongue Tied Qee

The second figure in Toy2R’s upcoming 36" Artist Qee Collection was unveiled yesterday, and it looks like a really fun design. With that being said, here is the first reveal of Jason Freeny’s Tongue Tied Qee in XL scale. Limited to only 36 pieces worldwide, this unique and oversized Qee depicts Jason's artistic nature with humor and style. The Blot was secretly hoping for a 3 foot tall version of Freeny’s Visible Qee (how bad ass would that be!?!), but this design is still pretty cool in its own right. And a 3’ Visible Qee by Freeny would probably retail for even more than this figure’s $2,800 price tag.

Emilio Garcia 36” Brain Pattern Qee

After a week of unveiling the roster of Toy2R’s upcoming 36" Artist Qee Collection, the designer toy world now gets its very first look at Emilio Garcia's Brain Pattern Qee in XL scale - 36 inches of awe inspiring brain power! Limited to only 36 pieces worldwide, these special editions 3 foot tall vinyl figures are made to order and once they are gone - that's it - so collectors get ready! The Blot had no idea when Toy2R first announced its new line of 36” Artist Qees they would be this limited (or this expensive). With a retail price of $2,800 each, these artist editions are some serious high end collectibles. I hope everyone’s been pinching their pennies!

Jason Freeny’s 7” Visible Qee

After more than 2 years in the laboratory, Toy2R has announced the upcoming release of Jason Freeny’s 7 inch Visible Qee. Based on an original illustration by Freeny, Toy2R has taken every effort to recreate this limited edition production Qee in unequivocal detail including having the actual artist sculpt the Qee innards. Freeny’s dissected custom figures are amazing, and The Blot’s been waiting for a toy company to step-up and create a production version of his work. Toy2R definitely took on this challenge and knocked it out of the park!

While Jason Freeny’s 7” Visible Qee is really cool, I am a little perplexed. As Jeremy Brautman pointed out on his blog the news of this release came just 1 week “after Toy2R’s announcement of a very similar anatomical Qee simply called 7-inch Visible Qee” with “the main difference between the two [being] that Freeny sculpted (and signed off on) the Freeny version, whereas the sans-Freeny Qee was inspired by, but not designed by Freeny.” Seems like a really strange decision to produce both versions but only give Freeny credit for one of them. I am guessing the non-Freeny version will be cheaper with a larger run size, but aren’t they practically the same figure?

Jason Freeny’s 7” Visible Qee will drop later this year with a retail price of $80. Available in original form and the extremely limited glow-in-the-dark edition, this is a wonderful figure for any fan of designer art toys. There is a limited edition version of the non-Freeny 7” Visible Qee. The Glow in the Dark Edition 7" Visible Qee is an Artoyz exclusive had has a limited edition run size of 200.
