Dream BIG Friends Kickstarter Campaign Needs Your Support!

Dream BIG Friends by David Horvath, Sun Min & Klim Kozinevich - Yuna 10” Articulate Doll and Her Cat Kamata

What happens when veterans of the toy industry come together to pour their vision into a concept whose time has come? Something BIG! After watching their own kids play, David Horvath and Sun Min (award winning designers of Uglydoll) began a discussion with Klim Kozinevich (Creative Director of Bigshot Toyworks) and wondered what if there was more? The worlds of princesses and pixies, fashion models and super heroes are all fantastic, but something was missing.

Dream BIG Friends by David Horvath, Sun Min & Klim Kozinevich - Yuna 10” Articulate Doll and Her Cat Kamata

The trio set out to create a unique personality in a small plastic body, focusing on aspirational, inspirational and imaginative play. Something that would encourage kids around the world to embrace what makes them who and what they are, inside and out. David, Sun Min and Klim wanted their first doll, and all of her friends, to feel like very real characters, complete with rich backgrounds and boundless potential. True avatars for your imagination. And with that, Yuna was born!

Yuna is the very first 10" articulated doll in an all new line called “Dream BIG Friends”. She's also the first Asian American girl to be the center of a doll line! She loves science, travel, rockets, art, design, and Korean food. Her BIG dream is to run a company designing rockets that will one day take her to Mars. With your help, she’s sure to get there.

Dream BIG Friends by David Horvath, Sun Min & Klim Kozinevich - Yuna 10” Articulate Doll and Her Cat Kamata

Late last month a Kickstarter campaign was launched for Dream BIG Friends, and now we can all invite Yuna and her cat Kamata into our homes by pledging to the campaign. There’s just 10 days left and every dollar counts! So head over to the Dream BIG Friends Kickstarter campaign page and find out how you can help support this exciting endeavor.

Super7 Strawberry GID Foster & Purple Puncher Power Mister by Sun-Min & David Horvath

Super7 Strawberry Glow in the Dark Foster & Purple Puncher Power Mister by Sun-Min & David Horvath

This one’s a week late, but these latest two releases from Super7 were just too cute to ignore. Power Mister by Sun-Min & David Horvath is a bit blue in the face as he is still having difficulty getting his gloves off. This purple puncher is ready to take over the world but will settle for being your best friend for now. Purple Puncher Power Mister ($35) is cast in lavender vinyl with dark blue, silver and light green sprays.

Sandwiched between two glow in the dark cookies, this bright pink strawberry filled Foster will melt your heart if not in your hand. The Strawberry Pink Filled GID Foster ice cream sandwich ($25) is cast in glow vinyl with pink sprays. Power Mister and Foster are both currently available for purchase at the Super7 online store.

David Horvath 36” Bossy Bear Qee

Toy2R - David Horvath 36” Bossy Bear Qee

Yesterday, the third figure in Toy2R’s upcoming 36" Artist Qee Collection was officially revealed, and was there any doubt David Horvath’s 36 inch Qee design would be his popular Bossy Bear? At this point Bossy Bear has been produced in just about every size imaginable, from his original 4" vinyl figure to his 12" Monster Bossy Bear series. But The Blot’s pretty sure he’s never been like this before!

Standing a gigantic 3 feet tall, David Horvath’s Bossy Bear XL Scale Qee has a limited edition run size of just 36 pieces and will retail for $2,800. While the limited edition nature of these 36” Qees is quite impressive, I’m dying to know how well they’ve been selling with such a steep price tag. I have to imagine no store is just blindly pre-ordering these, and any purchases made placed at this point are by the artists’ diehard collectors. But either way I have to commend Toy2R for producing such an ambitious series!

For some reason The Blot’s never really covered Toy2R’s Qees before. But it’s hard to ignore 36 inch designer toys, especially when they feature the artwork of some incredibly talented artists. Definitely expect more coverage of this exciting release in the weeks to come here on TheBlotSays.com!
