National Lampoon’s Vacation Screen Print by Andrew Kolb

National Lampoon’s Vacation Screen Print by Andrew Kolb x Mondo

Later today Mondo will be releasing a movie poster for National Lampoon’s Vacation by Andrew Kolb! His fun, whimsical art style works so well to capture the essence of this comedy classic. As Kolb explained “Before the crew brought me the project, I'd only seen the film a half dozen times, but thought I knew it pretty well. Wrong. After watching it again - taking notes, rewinding, and jotting down ideas the whole time - I realized just how brilliantly paced the whole thing is. In working through concepts (maps, postcards, etc.), the goal was to make something as expansive as a film about a road trip deserves, while also literally packing in as many references as possible."

National Lampoon's Vacation by Andrew Kolb is an 18”x24” hand numbered screen print. Limited to 200 pieces, this movie poster will go on sale at a random time today, Thursday, July 30th, at the Mondo online store for $40.

The Blot Returns

You know what is really, really annoying? Not having internet access for 5 days and then when you finally get home late last night and need to check your email, you find out your modem has crashed and died in your absence. Then, after exchanging it for a new modem this morning, that one gets mysteriously fried by the signal sent from the cable company to activate it. I’m now on my third modem of the day, and things seem to finally be back up and running.

I’ve got more emails than I could every actually read, so this will probably be my only post of the day. But The Blot Says… will be back up and running on a more consistent basis tomorrow. Hope everyone enjoyed the Lost season finale last week! I am planning on rewatching all three hours of it tonight and will be posting a full recap of it tomorrow. See you all then…

F.Y.I. - The Blot’s On Vacation

The Blot’s heading out of town today for an early summer vacation in sunny California. I won’t have internet access for five whole days, so it's goint to take a while for me to respond to any comments or e-mails from the next few days. I know Aly is pretty excited to see how I do away from my computer for almost a full week.

The Blot Has A Posse
Even though I won’t be back until Wednesday morning, fret not. I’ve gone ahead and set up some automated posts for the next three days. There won’t be as many posts while I’m out of town, but there’s definitely some interesting stuff coming up. I’m sure I will have tons of late breaking news to catch up on when I get back. And don’t worry, I definitely found time to watch Lost before heading out of town. Look for my full recap on Lost’s 2-hour season finale sometime next week. Have a good weekend everyone!
