Black Panther: Wakanda Forever Screen Print by DKNG x Marvel Studios x AMC Theaters

To commemorate the world premiere of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever last weekend in theaters, DKNG teamed up with Marvel Studios and AMC Theaters to release this fantastic new movie poster for the film. As DKNG explained, “The poster is illustrated from an aerial view, looking down at what appears to be both the Wakanda Royal Talon Fighter while also representing the mask of the fallen King T’Challa. The signature claw necklace may appear to be just that at first glance, but upon closer inspection the claws are actually a row of Dora Milaje special forces warriors, holding their spears and defending the space craft. Emerging from the water and onto the beach are the Talocan warriors led by prince Namor.”

“Spider-Verse” Marvel Spider-Man Screen Print by DKNG x Mondo

Without a doubt, one of the most beloved super heroes in the world is Marvel’s Spider-Man! For over 55 years he’s been swing through New York City (and beyond) saving the day. In 2014, Marvel published an event called “Spider-Verse”, which featured every version of the Spider-Man character ever created during his extremely rich history. Mondo is using that storyline as the basis for a “history of” type poster that features the many various Spider-people over the course of Spider-Man’s 55 year history.

To create this awesome design, Mondo has enlisted the magicians at DKNG to design a Spider-Verse screen print that includes upwards of 70 different incarnations of Marvel’s ol’ web head from alternate Peter Parkers (and Porkers) to other iconic characters who also donned spider powers of their own.

Back to the Future Day is finally here! We’ve only been waiting since 1989 for the future in Back to the Future Part 2 to finally catch up to us. To celebrate this momentous occasion, Mondo is releasing the complete trilogy score on vinyl in two versions. All of the epic BTTF original motion picture soundtrack vinyl records seen here will go on sale at 12pm CDT today, October 21st, at the Mondo online store.

The Back To The Future Original Score 2xLP was composed and conducted by Alan Silvestri with artwork by Matt Taylor. The Mondo Web Exclusive version is pressed on Clear 180 Gram Vinyl with Electric Blue splatter and will retail for $35. D23 Expo Exclusive Star Wars: The Force Awakens Prints by Mark Englert & DKNG

Gallery 1988 is teaming up with Lucasfilm and HP for a very special event entitled “Art Awakens” to celebrate the upcoming release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. To promote this event, Gallery1988 will be releasing two epic Star Wars: The Force Awakens screen prints exclusively at this weekend’s D23 Expo.

Mark Englert’s The Force Awakens print features good guys Finn, Rey and droid BB-8, along with a squad of X-Wings and the Millennium Falcon, while DKNG’s Star Wars print features the bad guys Kylo Ren, Captain Phasma and a pair of First Order Stormtroopers, plus a squadron of TIE Fighters, printed on metal. Both prints can be purchased at the Art Awakens D23 Expo booth #1415.

The Wizard of OZ Screen Print by DKNG

Mondo continues its colorful The Wizard of OZ Screen Print Series today with a beautiful new movie poster by DKNG! What’s really cool about this release is Mondo has produced three different versions of it with each colorway featuring a different colored horse. Diehard OZ fans know that Dorothy was brought into the Emerald City on a carriage drawn by The Horse of a Different Color, making these three variants movie accurate!

As DKNG explained, “When approaching a film as iconic as The Wizard of Oz, we wanted to find a unique focal point beyond the main iconography of the film. The Horse of a Different Color occupies just a brief scene, but proved to be a great subject for a print series that includes the three different colors - red, purple, and yellow - that the horse takes on in the film. Each print shares three ink colors with the fourth screen customized to provide the color change for each variant.”

Mondo's 75 Years of Batman: Part 3 On Sale Info!

Later today Mondo will be releasing its third batch of prints from their “75 Years of Batman” group art show! This epic gallery show celebrates the 75th anniversary of the first publication of a Batman comic book by DC Comics. The theme of 75 Years of Batman: Part 3 is movies, with all of these prints inspired by the Dark Knight’s many appearances on the big screen. This final wave of Batman prints includes designs by Kevin Tong, Craig Drake, Phantom City Creative, Jay Shaw, DKNG and Jason Edmiston. All of the prints seen here will go on sale at a random time today, Thursday, November 20th, at the Mondo online store.

After originally being released as an extremely limited Record Store Day 2014 exclusive, Mondo will be releasing the standard edition ParaNorman soundtrack tomorrow! At least now The Blot can take a little solace in not being able to score the RSD exclusive Glow in the Dark Edition last Saturday. What’s really awesome about this Mondo x LAIKA Animation Studios release is that while the Standard Edition ParaNorman soundtrack is being released on two 180 gram black vinyl records, there will be a limited number of “Aggie Fights” highlighter yellow with bone haze vinyl records randomly inserted into the run!

The ParaNorman original motion picture soundtrack features music by Jon Brion and cover artwork by DKNG. This is the first time ever the ParaNorman sound track has been released on vinyl, and it goes on sale at a random time on Tuesday, April 22nd, at the Mondo online store for $30.

Ghostbusters 30th Anniversary “Ecto-1” Screen Print by DKNG

This past week Gallery1988 launched their amazing Ghostbusters 30th Anniversary Traveling Group Art Show in New York City! RSD 2014 Exclusive GID ParaNorman Soundtrack Vinyl Record by Mondo

Mondo is teaming up with LAIKA Animation Studios to release the ParaNorman soundtrack on deluxe limited edition vinyl for the very first time! The Blot’s a huge fan of stop-motion animation, and I love the renewed passion and interest LAIKA has brought to the medium over the past few years with releases like ParaNorman and Coraline. While a standard edition version of the 2LP soundtrack will be released next week at the Mondo online store, this weekend Mondo will be releasing an extremely limited Glow in the Dark Edition as part of Record Store Day 2014!

For those familiar with the works of Jon Brion (Magnolia, Punch Drunk Love) you’ll immediately recognize the melancholy, ear-worm melodies in his score to ParaNorman. Mixed with 80′s slasher throwback motifs and a whimsical family sensibility it is a terrific score front-to-back.

The Record Store Day Exclusive ParaNorman Soundtrack 2LP Vinyl Records features glow in the dark cover artwork designed by DKNG, as well as mystery colored GID vinyl. This edition is limited to just 500 copies, with each copy including randomly inserted clear splatter 180 gram 12” discs that glow one of three colors (red, blue or green). I want this so freaking bad! Too bad there's no way I can camp out early enough to snag a RSD 2014 this limited.
