Funko continues its line of Mystery Minis vinyl figures with a new blind box series featuring characters from AMC’s hit television show The Walking Dead! You’ve read that right, Funko has shrunk down the cast of The Walking Dead and all of its gruesomely awesome zombies into adorable 2.5” vinyl figures. Space City Con 2013: The Final Frontier

It’s hard to believe it’s August is almost here, which means it’s almost time for Houston’s 2nd annual Space City Con! If you’re a fan of sci-fi, especially Star Trek, and live anywhere in or around Texas then you’ll definitely want to plan a trip to Houston August 2nd-4th. This new con has put together an impressive list of celebrity guests, including Doctor Who's Seventh Doctor Sylvester McCoy, Firefly’s Jewel Staite and more Star Trek cast members than you can share a stick at!

This year SCC is hosting Walter Koeing from TOS, John de Lancie and Denise Crosby from TNG, and Robert Picardo and Tim Russ from Voyager. There’s also 8 different Mighty Morphin Power Ranger cast members and a couple of big names from Babylon 5. Personally The Blot is more excited about the artists and comic creators at this year’s show including animator Rich Arons, Keu Cha and Art Thibert! It should be a fantastic show and The Blot will hopefully be there throughout the weekend. Hope to see you there!

X-Men: Days of Future Past “X Split” Character Teaser Movie Posters - Professor X & Magneto

X-Men: Days of Future Past may be the most ambitious X-Men movie yet! With one of the largest casts of any superhero film ever produced combined with a legendary comic book story line it is sure to be a massive hit. But even The Blot isn’t sure the movie can live up to how awesome these “Split” character teaser movie posters are! These beautiful posters feature the past and future versions of two of the film franchise’s three main characters, Professor X and Magneto.

The first print juxtaposes Patrick Stewart, the modern day Professor X, with his younger self, portrayed by James McAvoy. The second poster does the same with Magneto, combining the faces of present day Magnet portrayed by Ian McKellen and with Michael Fassbender’s ‘60s era Magneto. Are these posters awesome or what!??!

SDCC 2013 X-Men: Days of Future Past Propaganda Posters

At San Diego Comic-Con 2013 FOX debuted these amazing X-Men: Days of Future Past propaganda posters. Released in conjunction with the unveiling of the film’s Sentinels, these propaganda posters would make some seriously awesome X-Men screen prints! I love how they evoke the feeling of old military themed posters while still clearly being X-Men related. Marvel needs to make sure these posters get produced!

The Blot loves that not only is FOX’s live action film franchise tackling the iconic "Days of Future Past" storyline, but that they’re also finally bringing Marvel’s Sentinels to life. Even more amazing is this film is bringing both the cast of the original X-Men trilogy together with the cast of X-Men: First Class. Here’s hoping First Class’ cast doesn’t get the short end of the stick with so many “big names” being brought back to the X-Men fold.

SDCC 13 Exclusive Mecha Zangief Street Fighter Mini Figure by Kidrobot

Kidrobot and Capcom took you back to the arcade with the Street Fighter Mini Series, which featured all 12 of Street Fighter II’s original cast of characters stylized in 3 inch vinyl figures. Now complete your collection with this San Diego Comic-Con 2013 Exclusive Mecha Zangief (Thanks to Spanky Stokes for the photo!). Is this colorway actually based on a version of the character from the video game?

With this SDCC 2013 Exclusive the Red Cyclone goes heavy metal! Zangief has transformed into a 3” cyber colored vinyl figure. Even super powers can’t knock down this Russian wrestler.

SDCC 13 First Look: Choices Resin Figure by Jermaine Rogers

At San Diego Comic-Con 2013, Jermaine Rogers gave the world its first look at his brand new Choices resin figure! Jermaine has made a huge return to the world of designer toys with his second new release of 2013 and The Blot couldn’t be happier. I’ve always loved Jermaine’s killer bunny and this hand painted, 3D rendering (sculpted by Klim Kozinevich and Bigshot ToyWorks) is awesome. Look for at least 3 variant editions of Choices to hit Jermaine’s online store beginning in Fall of 2013!

SDCC 13 Exclusive Blue Painted Mecha Greasebat by Jeff Lamm

Last weekend at San Diego Comic-Con 2013 Jeff Lamm and Monster Worship released the first painted release of Lamm’s new Mecha Greasebat vinyl figure! This beautiful painted Mecha Greasebat was cast in blue soft Japanese vinyl and includes switchable right fists (non-firing rocket and spikeball). This massive 9” figure features 8 points of articulation retailed exclusively at SDCC 2013 for $95 each.

Frank Mysterio debuted his very first original vinyl figure last weekend at San Diego Comic-Con 2013! Sculpted by Chauskoskis and cast in black soft Japanese vinyl, Anticristo 666 is a massive three headed demon ready to take over the world. Frank Kozik’s Labbit has never looked so good (or so creepy!).
