Apocalypse Grin 8” Dunny by Ron English

Next week Kidrobot will be releasing its newest 8” production Dunny and it’s by the king of popaganda, Ron English! The Apocalypse Grin 8” Dunny combines English’s creepy grinning design with Disney’s Mickey Mouse….it’s just another perfect example of Ron English’s epic twisting of pop culture! The Apocalypse Grin Dunny was originally produced as a 3” Dunny as part of KR’s 2012 Apocalypse Dunny Series and can now be yours in 8” form!

To commemorate the exciting new release, Kidrobot is also producing a super rare white, pink and blue chase colorway that will be randomly inserted in the Apocalypse Grin packaging. Ron English’s Apocalypse Grin 8” Dunny will go on sale at 10am CST on Friday, September 4th, at select retailers worldwide and online at Kidrobot.com for $75.

First Look at Kidrobot’s Upcoming Slate of 8” & 20” Dunnys by Ron English, J*RYU, Scott Tolleson & WuzOne

Thanks to our friends at myplasticheart, we now have our official first look at Kidrobot’s upcoming slate of 8” and 20” Dunnys! While KR has been teasing these four releases pretty hard over the past 6 weeks, this is the first time the designs have been seen in full. The most impressive of the four designs is without a doubt J*RYU’s breathtaking “It’s a F.A.D.” 20 inch Dunny! “It’s a F.A.D.” was originally designed as part of Kidrobot’s now canceled Army of Snipers 3” Dunny Series. Once that production series was discontinued, J*RYU took matters into his own hands and turned it into a seriously amazing custom 20” Dunny. Thankfully Kidrobot felt the same way and decided to produce the design as a 20” production Dunny. Expected to ship in Fall 2015, “It’s a F.A.D.” will retail for $449.99.

Releasing in August 2015 is the Pinocchio inspired “No Strings On Me” 8 inch Dunny by WuzOne! This is the super talented customizer’s first production Dunny and it’s about time. WuzOne has been killing it with his customs for years now. Based on a previously released 3” custom, this Disney themed design looks fantastic and will retail for just $59.99. Ron English fans should be very excited to learn that his classic Grin 3” Dunny (inspired by Disney’s Mickey Mouse) from Kidrobot’s Dunny Apocalypse Series will be given the 8” Dunny treatment this September 2015 when “Grin” is released for $74.99.

Last but certainly not least is the beautiful Imperial Lotus Dragon 8” Dunny by Scott Tolleson! Based on his design in the Dunny Evolved Series, this super detailed figure will ship in Fall 2015 and retail for $99.99. Is this piece stunning or what!?! While I am surprised Kidrobot chose to release so many previously produced designs, albeit now in a larger scale, I can’t imagine any collectors complaining. All four artists have huge followings and these Dunnys look killer! I just wish we had more time to save up for their releases.

Clusterf*ck Custom Munny by Huck Gee

This is it, the final custom figure in Huck Gee’s Heavy Trooper series! When Enclave 13's Heavy Trooper badboys and badgirls need backup, they call in "Clusterf*ck". Trading mobility and vertical clearance for mech stopping fire power, the cluster rocket mounted variant of the GR4 Heavy Trooper shell is one evil mother!

Heavy Trooper Vasquez Custom 8” Dunny by Huck Gee

Huck Gee continues his line of 8" custom Dunny vinyl figures based on his epic Post-Apocalypse 3” Dunny Series produced by Kidrobot. Long before there was the Dread Squad, there was Enclave 13, the utopian hypercity that became Vasquez's early adopted home. Plucked from the wasteland at a very young age, Vasquez was hosed down, suited up and conscripted into the military academy. It was within the walls of this academy that a young Vasquez would come to meet two of his future Dread Squad mates, Lensman and Thundersticks. Once out of the academy Vasquez quickly worked his way up the military ladder and into the ranks of Enclave 13's Heavy Troopers.

Penelope the Heavy Trooper Custom 8” Dunny by Huck Gee

Exploding out of Kidrobot’s Post-Apocalypse 3” Dunny Series comes Penelope the Heavy Trooper, an amazing custom 8” Dunny by Huck Gee. The Heavy Assault Trooper is the baddest of the bad. Wired, armed and armored for everything the surrounding wastelands can throw at it. When things get tense you call in the guards but when the shit hits the pretty, chrome, perfectly oscillating fan of Enclave 13, you call in The Heavy Troopers. Heavy Trooper Penelope is actually based on Huck’s daughter and looks amazing. This is just another beautiful example of Huck’s amazing custom work.

Meltdown GID 8” Dunny by Chris Ryniak

Remember the days when collectors would beg Kidrobot to transform their favorite 3” Dunny designs into giant 8” Dunnys? They’d start “petitions” on the Kidrobot message boards that had thousands of “signatures” but it never worked. Now all of a sudden KR is reusing designs left and right (not that that’s a bad thing)! Chris Ryniak’s Meltdown Dunny from 2012’s Apocalypse Series is one of the most popular 3” designs released in the past few years, and I’m sure fans are going to go crazy over these florescent, glow in the dark 8 inch colorways.

Kidrobot’s Dunny went on holiday to Chernobyl, which turned out to be a very bad idea. GID and semi-translucent, Chris Ryniak’s Meltdown Dunny is an 8 inch vinyl glowing ghost featuring dead eyes and what’s left of his pet fish. Only 500 of each color edition survived, and each is exclusively available through a specific type of retailer. The Green Edition is sold through Kidrobot retail stores, the Yellow Edition is available through Kidrobot.com, the Pink Edition is sold through specialty toy stores here in the US, and the Orange Edition will be available internationally through specialty toy shops overseas. Shadow Edition Kukulcan 3″ Dunny by Jesse Hernandez

If you thought Kidrobot’s Apocalypse Dunny Series was over, think again! Jesse Hernandez’ popular Apocalypse Series winged snake design (entitled Kulkukan) is back for a very special release. In fact, Kidrobot is set to drop a limited edition variant of Jesse Hernandez’s Kukulcan 3” Dunny from the Apocalypse Dunny Series next week. The Shadow Edition Kukulcan features a grey, black and green color scheme, and looks freaking awesome!

Kukulcan, known later as Quetzalcoatl to the Aztecs, is a feathered serpent Mayan deity. It has been said Kukulcan can make the earth shake, that he can predict storms, that he is a messenger between the Kings and the Gods. It has also been prophesized by the Mayans that in 2012, as the 5th world ends, he will return to walk the Earth, just in time to watch it burn! This amazingly sculpted Dunny designed by Jesse Hernandez has a limited edition run size of 2012 pieces, and is scheduled to descend at all Kidrobot retail stores and Kidrobot.com on Thursday, December 20th, retailing for $14.95 each.

Neon Dog Custom 8” Dunny by Huck Gee

Yesterday Huck Gee announced the release of a second colorway of his 8” custom Dog Dunnys, which are based on his design from Kidrobot’s Apocalypse Dunny Series. The original custom set proved so popular Huck decided to release another batch of 10 Dog 8” Dunnys, this time sporting a toxic mutant neon green Mohawk. Each Neon Dog Custom 8" Dunny comes signed and numbered by Huck Gee, retails for $800, and includes all of the accessories shown above. Dog 8” Custom Apocalypse Dunny by Huck Gee

Yesterday Huck Gee released a custom 8” version of his popular Apocalypse Dunny. Named Dog, this dangerous road warrior is ready to kick ass and…well, that’s it really. Each handmade custom Dog vinyl figure comes signed and numbered by Huck, and includes all of the accessories seen here (including that awesome Skullhead belt). The Four Horsemen of the Dunny Apocalypse by The Beast Brothers

Later this week Kidrobot is releasing its new Apocalypse Dunny Series, but can you really have an Apocalypse Series without the Four Horsemen!?! That’s the question The Beast Brothers have been asking this week on Instagram as they unveil their Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse designs. I believe these were their submissions to KR for the Apocalypse Series that Kidrobot decided not to use. 

I don’t know about you, but Kidrobot made a big mistake not including these in the release. They’re awesome! Maybe KR will come to their sense and release a very special Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse set in conjunction with the Apocalypse Series, similar to what they did with Huck Gee’s Gold Life Series.

UPDATE:  Thanks to Patricio Oliver it looks like the Four Horsemen are represented in Kidrobot's upcoming Apocalypse Dunny Series! PO's awesome design is War, which begs the question which designs are Death, Pest & Famine? More details to come! Thanks for the heads up PO!

Dunny celebrates the end of the world with a group of artists so badass, you’ll wish every year prophesized mass destruction!
