Ian Glaubinger’s NYCC 2024 Exclusive Prints!

Ian Glaubinger will be set up all weekend long at New York Comic Con 2024 with fellow artist Dave Perillo at their NYCC booth #1770.  Ian’s brought some fantastic exclusives with him this year at the Javits Center in NYC. First up is a fun Tiki screen print that measures 8”x8”.

Inspired by the first page of the Mirage issue #1, Ian is releasing this killer set of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Sold only as a complete set of four prints with a different turtle on each print (Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, and Michelangelo), this TMNT release is limited to just 50 sets.

Last is this fantastic MCU inspired Stark Expo screen print! It’s the perfect companion piece to a Stark Expo pennant Glaubinger did way back in 2019. Stark Expo is an 18”x24” 3 color Marvel screen print limited to just 50 pieces. And be on the look out for a super limited edition Iron Man inspired Red Foil Variant!

As Ian explained, “I always loved that design and wanted to expand on the concept without just reprinting the pennant itself. So I asked myself what would a poster look like that you either saw or purchased at the actual Stark Expo back in 1943? This was the Expo depicted in Captain America: The First Avenger so nailing that feeling of retrofuturism, optimism, time period and swagger of Howard Stark was my goal.”

Captain America: The First Avenger Screen Print by Mark Brooks x Mondo x Marvel

True Believers, today Mondo is releasing two pretty marvelous new screen prints! First up is a killer movie poster for Captain America: The First Avenger by Mark Brooks. As Mondo explained, “Mark is an excellent artist known for his beautiful cover work, and it’s awesome to see his work translated into silkscreen posters. These will be available as a regular edition, as well as a more patriotic variant edition, naturally.”

NYCC Exclusive Captain America: The First Avenger Screen Print by Matt Ferguson

Grey Matter Art will be setting up shop at New York Comic Con this weekend and they’re bringing with them three killer, officially licensed Marvel Comics exclusives! For NYCC, GMA is teaming up with Matt Ferguson once again to release his third Marvel Cinematic Universe movie poster. Ferguson has been killing it on this series, and each one has seriously been better than the last. Iron Man…Thor…and now Captain America: The First Avenger!

The New York Comic Con 2015 Exclusive Captain America: The First Avenger movie screen print by Matt Ferguson measures 24”x36” and comes hand numbered. The Regular Edition is limited to 200 pieces and will retail for $50, the Variant Edition is limited to 125 and will retail for $70, while the Foil Variant is limited to just 100 pieces and will retail for $100. All three will be sold exclusively at the Grey Matter Art NYCC booth #2366. Any remaining prints will be sold at a random time between 1-2pm EDT on Monday, October 12th, at the Grey Matter Art online store.

Captain America: The First Avenger Dyptich Screen Prints by Marko Manev

Grey Matter Art has unveiled the second movie poster in their epic Marvel Cinematic Universe Screen Print Series and it’s a beauty! With last week’s Iron Man print and now this killer Captain America: The First Avengers screen print by Marko Manev, GMA is seriously hitting it out of the park with this license! This is the first time Grey Matter Art has worked with Marko, and they are releasing basically two movie posters – one blue Captain America print and one red Red Skull print - that work together to form a dyptich.

Each Captain America: The First Avenger Screen Print by Marko Manev measures 24”x36”, is limited to 200 pieces and will retail for $50. Fans can purchase the Standard Edition Captain America print and the Variant Red Skull print individually or as a two print set for just $90. Both prints are scheduled to go on sale between 1-2pm EDT this Wednesday, June 17th, at the Grey Matter Art online store.

Marvel Movie Poster Series by DaveWill

The Blot was recently introduced to the amazing work of British artist Dave Williams (aka DaveWill), and boy is he producing some really fun movie prints. I just wish I’d found out about him before his Marvel Movie Poster Series sold out! DaveWill is a graphic designer/illustrator from Liverpool, UK who loves to design alternative movie posters in his spare time. Over the past year he’s designed movie posters for X-Men: First Class, Captain America: The First Avenger, Thor and now The Avengers!

While all four posters are great, I especially like DaveWill’s designs for Thor and X-Men: First Class because of their retro feel. The SHILED logo in The Avengers poster is also pretty awesome.  Each movie poster in DaveWill’s Marvel Movie Poster Series has been released as an 18”x24” print on 350gsm stock. Only 10 prints of each Marvel movie poster were produced and they retailed for around $40, but unfortunately they’re all gone now. Keep your eyes peeled to DaveWill’s official website for future releases in this exciting series.

Captain America: The First Avenger Final One Sheet Movie Posters

Early yesterday morning hundreds of people at San Diego Comic-Con 2011 got a special sneak preview of Captain America: the First Avenger and you know what? They really liked it! I know this exactly the type of audience the film was produced for, but if they had hated it the film would have been D.O.A. As it is now, it seems like generally audiences like it and it’s holding strong on Rotten Tomatoes with a 71% Tomatometer score. Can’t ask for more than that!

In case you’re still on the fence about seeing Captain America, don’t look at the film’s final theatrical one sheet movie posters shown here. While the first poster is ok, the second one leaves must to be desired. Whoever photoshopped Chris Evans’ head on that Captain America body needs to go back to school. Why they wouldn’t have just used his original masked head is beyond me. It’s not like Chris Evans is a draw for this movie. The draw is Marvel’s Captain America, just like all of their other super hero films.

We’re officially two days away from the world premiere of Captain America: The First Avenger and I have to admit, I’m actually pretty excited for it. There was a time when The Blot had extremely low expectations for this film but that all changed over the past 2 months. What can I say, Marvel has really won me over with the film’s incredible trailers. I am still a little worried about the fact that Captain America stars Chris Evans (he’s proven to be the kiss of death for comic book adaptations ala Fantastic Four, Scott Pilgrim and The Losers), but I’m willing to give him a pass since I actually enjoyed all three of those movies.

SDCC 2011 Exclusive Captain America: The First Avenger Mondo Screen Print Series by Olly Moss, Tyler Stout & Eric Tan

For the first time ever, Mondo will have its very own booth at San Diego Comic-Con 2011! Not only that, but the Austin based company will be releasing six all new Captain America: The First Avenger screen prints by three fan favorites: Olly Moss, Tyler Stout and Eric Tan. Marvel Comics fans may recognize Tyler Stout’s two prints, as the image was first seen as the cover the comic books Captain America: First Vengence issue #4. The other four propaganda style prints by Olly Moss and Eric Tan will be making their debut at SDCC.

Tyler Stout’s Captain America print measures 24″x36″, has a limited edition run size of 650 pieces and will sell for $50. The Stout’s Metallic Variant has a run size of 220 pieces and will retail for $100. Olly Moss’ Captain America Propaganda screen prints measure 18″x24″, have run sizes of 375 pieces, and will retail for $85 per set. Eric Tan’s Captain America Propaganda screen prints measure 18″x24″, have run sizes of 220 pieces, and will cost $80 per set.

There has been no word on when these prints will go on sale at Comic-Con, but I believe they will be made available for purchase at random times throughout San Diego Comic-Con 2011 at Mondo’s SDCC Booth #433. Captain America: The First Avenger Trailer #2 & Television Spot

By the time you read this, The Blot will be on my way to Los Angeles where I will be celebrating the 4th of July. While I’m gone, check out these awesome trailers for Captain America: The First Avenger. Seriously, what’s more patriotic than Captain America! The Blot can admit it when I’m was wrong, and I was all wrong about this movie (at least based on what we’ve seen so far). These latest trailers are seriously good, especially the film's newest television commercial (above) which debuted last week.  Then watch the second official Captain America: The First Avenger trailer below which features the Red Skull and HYDRA! Marvel definitely knows what they're doing with these movies, don't they?

Of the four big comic book films being released this summer, the one I expected the least from was Captain America but so far it’s looking to be as good if not better than Thor and X-Men: First Class (Green Lantern has already taken the crown as worst comic book adaptation of summer 2011). I hope everyone has a fun filled holiday weekend filled with hot dog eating contests, fireworks and good old Steve Rogers (a.k.a. Captain America)!

Captain America: The First Avenger Movie Poster by Paolo Rivera

Check out this awesome retro cast and crew exclusive one sheet movie poster for Captain America: The First Avenger! As Marvel.com explained, “the lucky cast and crew members who worked on Captain America: The First Avenger got a special treat for their work on the film, namely an exclusive poster created by Paolo Rivera, artist of Mythos: Captain America and and the upcoming Daredevil! Done in a retro 1940s style, Rivera captures Captain America in action in this dynamic composition.” Pretty cool huh!?! The Blot’s a little bummed this limited edition one sheet is not available to the public, but at least Marvel shared it with the world.

Captain America: The First Avenger is scheduled to invade theaters on Friday, July 22, 2011.

The Avengers Cosbaby Mini Figure Series

To celebrate the launch of The Avengers movie from Marvel Studio in 2012, Hot Toys is releasing the Marvel Avengers Assemble Cosbaby Series! Featuring characters from Iron Man 2, Thor and the upcoming Captain America: The First Avenger, the Avengers Assemble Cosbaby Series includes Iron Man [Mark V], Tony Stark, Thor, Loki, Captain America and the Red Skull. The Blot’s been wondering when we’d get another super hero movie series from Hot Toys, and this Avengers line up definitely doesn’t disappoint! But do we really need more Iron Man Cosbaby figures after 2 full Iron Man series?

To be honest, I half expected to see a Green Lantern movie series, but these will do just nicely instead! No word yet on when these 3” CosBaby figures will be hitting store shelves, but I would imagine it’ll happen sometime before the end of the summer. Each figure comes packed on a 4-color blister card and will retail for around $10.
