Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger Season 2 Television Series Teaser Poster

The Blot still hasn’t watched season 1 of Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger on Freeform – I’ve got the entire season sitting on my DVR – and season 2 is almost here. People seem to like it, but I struggle with watching a show on the teen-skewing Freeform network. That being said, I’m a big Cloak and Dagger fan so I’m sure I’ll give the show a shot eventually. It’s gotta be good with a tag line like “Season 2 will be MAYHEM.”

Marvel's Cloak and Dagger Season 2 is set to premiere in Spring 2019 on Freeform. The television series’ official synopsis states: “Tandy Bowen and Tyrone Johnson come from starkly different backgrounds, each growing up with a secret they never dared share with another soul. Tandy Bowen watched as her family was destroyed by a disastrous storm that uprooted her life, and when everything he held close was taken away, life taught Tyrone to be afraid.” Now what that has to do with super heroes Cloak and Dagger I’ll never understand.

SDCC 2018 Exclusive Marvel Comics T-Shirt Collection

The Marvel Comics San Diego Comic-Con booth is going to be stack once again this year with a ton of fantastic exclusives! As always, there will be lots of limited edition pins, hats, lanyards, glasses and comic books. Spider-Man: Maximum Carnage Marvel Minimates Series by Diamond Select Toys

Diamond Select Toys has unveiled Marvel Minimates Series 76, and it’s based on one of the most epic Spider-Man stories of the ‘90s, Maximum Carnage! The Blot was a diehard reader of Spider-Man comic books when this comic book event was released, and I can still remember reading each issue as it came out. This new assortment of Marvel Minimates mini figures features super heroes and villains central to this sprawling Spider-Man crossover. Series 76 includes Spider-Man with Black Cat, Venom with Doppelganger, Carnage with Demogoblin, and Cloak with Dagger. Plus, if you collect all four 2 Packs you get the pieces to build Shriek!

Each Spider-Man: Maximum Carnage Marvel Minimates Set includes two 2” mini figures featuring 14 points of articulation and a variety of interchangeable parts and accessories. SDCC 2018 Exclusive Infinity Gauntlet and Marvel Mutants Pin Mate Box Sets by Entertainment Earth

Entertainment Earth has begun to announce their exclusives for San Diego Comic-Con 2018, which includes two fantastic new Marvel Comics Pin Mate Wooden Figure Box Sets! First up is this epic Infinity Gauntlet Pin Mate Set, which is based on the iconic 1991 Marvel Comics mini-series of the same name by Jim Starlin, George Pérez and Ron Lim. This is also the comic book series which Avengers: Infinity War is based on.

The San Diego Comic-Con 2018 Exclusive Infinity Gauntlet Pin Mate Wooden Figure Collectibles Set features a whopping 16 different characters based on their appearance in the comic book mini series. This limited edition set includes heroes Adam Warlock, Pip the Troll, Drax, Quasar, Nova, Spider-Man, Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Hulk, She-Hulk, Doctor Strange, Vision, Namor the Sub-Mariner, Cloak, and the evil Thanos.

Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger Television Show Teaser Posters

Although The Blot hasn’t seen a single episode yet, I think it’s safe to say my new TV guilty pleasure is Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger television series – which premiers on Freeform tonight! As a kid I was huge Cloak and Dagger fan, but since the duo’s heyday of the ‘80s and ‘90s they’ve only made sporadic appearances in the comic book Marvel Universe. That all changes tonight once the new live action TV show airs, as Marvel’s already announced a new comic book starring these two teenage super heroes.

If you’re not familiar with Cloak and Dagger, it stars Olivai Holt as Tandy Bowen aka Dagger and Aubrey Joseph as Tyrone Johnson aka Cloak, teenagers who are awakened to newly acquired superpowers which are mysteriously linked to one another. The characters were created by Bill Mantlo and Ed Hannigan and debuted in Peter Parker, the Spectacular Spider-Man #64 back in 1982. As Freeform explains, “Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger is a coming-of-age series based on the beloved comic characters. Tandy Bowen and Tyrone Johnson come from starkly different backgrounds, each growing up with a secret they never dared share with another soul.”

To hype up the series, Marvel and Freeform have released the three Cloak and Dagger teaser posters above, one of which is currently hanging up in my twins’ bedroom - my local comic shop was giving out the top poster at Free Comic Book Day last month. The illustrated poster was given away to fans at New York Comic Con 2017 last summer. Who’s planning on checking out this new Marvel TV show airing on the Disney/ABC owned Freeform channel?

Mondo’s “SNIKT. BAMF. THWIP: A Celebration of Marvel Comics” Online Release Part 2

Later today Mondo will be releasing its second batch of prints from “SNKIT. BAMF. TWHIP: A Celebration of Marvel Comics”, a gallery show featuring prints and original artwork honoring the rich history of Marvel characters that began over 75 years ago. The exhibit runs through December 19th, with the second batch of screen prints and giclees being released at a random time today, Friday, December 18th, at the Mondo online store!
