Kranky Mini Figure Blind Box Series 1 by Superplastic

The Blot was thrilled to learn yesterday that Superplastic is releasing a new blind box artist series of Kranky mini figures!!! Kranky is an awesome mash-up by Sket One of Superplastic’s Janky platform vinyl figure with a Krylon spray can. For Kranky Series One, Superplastic has enlisted 14 amazing graffiti and street artists to put their unique art styles onto the Kranky platform.  The Blot especially loves to see how they’ve incorporated the removable cap into their designs.

Each Kranky mini figure is 3.5” of soft vinyl, features a removable cap and actually rattle just like your favorite spray paint cans! Artists in Kranky Series One include 123Klan, ADD FUEL, CHEO, Clogtwo, CRAOLA, Dalek, DELVS, Flying Fortress, MIST, REDS, Scribe, Sket One, TooFly and a mystery artist. Each design will have its own ratios for a variety of rarities like you’d expect with a blind box series. And along with the designs seen here, be on the lookout for some super secret, ultra exclusive, barely any made alternate colorways.

First Look: Rancid Ralf “I’m Scared” Vinyl Figure by Craola

Spinning out of Greg “Craola” Simkins’ popular Kickstarter campaign for his upcoming stop-motion animated short I’m Scared comes an awesome new 6” vinyl figure of the cartoon’s star, Rancid Ralf! Originally designed as an incentive for donating to Craola’s Kickstarter campaign, Greg has expanded the figure’s release to 5 colorways in all (OG White, Azul, Crimson, In Shadows and the GID Glowing Fear). Which means now all of us who missed out on the Kickstarter Exclusive Rancid Ralf will now have a chance to add this awesome figure to our collections!

I’m Scared is the age old story of the conflict between the imaginations of little boys and the monsters they battle on a nightly basis. It is also the story of the dynamics of brothers and how each looks at the world through completely different lenses. Sounds awesome right? The Orange Lantern Print by Greg Simkins & Alex Pardee

The Blot loves it when Alex Pardee and Greg “Craola” Simkins team up to produce crazy super hero themed artwork, and they definitely didn’t disappoint with their latest collaboration, the Halloween inspired print “The Orange Lantern.” The newest addition to Alex and Greg's "Scared Friends" universe (a riff on DC’s Super Friends) is a brand new monstrous holiday icon named Jackson O’Malley, the Orange Lantern. Keel Haul Cleg Red Colorway by Craola

To be honest, I’ve never been a huge fan of Greg “Craola” Simkins’ Cap’n Rotnclaw and Keel Haul Cleg PVC vinyl figures produced by STRANGEco. They are just a little too abstract for my taste. But when I heard STRANGEco would be releasing a super secret, limited edition Keel Haul Cleg colorway at Craola’s “It Wanders West” show at Gallery 1988 in Los Angeles last Thursday, I knew I was going to have to get one. Not because red is my favorite color, but because this particular colorway has Keel Haul Cleg painted as one of my all time favorite DC super heroes, The Flash.


While the red and yellow color scheme looks good on the Keel Haul Cleg figure, The Blot’s favorite part has to be The Flash’s logo on its chest. I think the Red colorway actually makes Keel Haul Cleg look fast, even if he does run around on crab legs. The Keel Haul Cleg Red colorway is going to look very sweet next to my other comic book inspired designer vinyl figures.


Keel Haul Cleg is available now on a first come, first serve basis from G1988 for $60 each. The figure is 7 inches tall and is limited to just 300 figures.
