Drive Screen Print by Hugh Fleming x Bottleneck Gallery

Today, Bottleneck Gallery releases this awesome Drive movie poster by artist Hugh Fleming! As BNG explained, “We’re over a decade out from Nicolas Winding Refn’s breakout movie, Drive, and we simply cannot get over it. We can’t get over the visuals, the acting, the soundtrack filled with earworms, and now we can’t get over Hugh’s newest alternative movie poster for the cult classic. Hugh’s poster uses a color palette that mostly mimics a traffic light with its various red, yellows, and greens permeating an intense collage of scenes and characters from the frenetic film.”

Drive Screen Print by Laurent Durieux x Mad Duck Posters

Mad Duck Posters is releasing the final movie poster in their epic Drive print series, and it’s by acclaimed artist Laurent Durieux!!! As Mad Duck Posters explained, “Laurent is one of the best artists designing movie posters today, and his stunning artwork for Drive presents a fresh take on the movie with amazing results!”

Drive by Laurent Durieux is a 24”x36” hand numbered screen print. The Regular Edition is limited to 350 pieces and will retail for $85, while the Variant is limited to 275 pieces and will retail for $105.  There is also a Chrome Variant limited to 200 pieces and will retail for $155. Drive Screen Print by Gabz (Grzegorz Domaradzki) x Mad Duck Posters

Mad Duck Posters is teaming up with artist Gabz (Grzegorz Domaradzki) to release a killer new officially licensed movie poster for Drive! As Gabz explained, “Drive remains my favorite Nicholas Winding Refn film to date (not just because of the incredible music score) and I was super excited for the opportunity to create a licensed poster for it. I came up with 3 different color versions: neon-like Regular, sunset inspired English Variant (to be screen printed on Gold Foil!) and last but not least a true treat for all the people who like Japanese lettering like myself - the Samurai Variant with popping red colors and types to be printed with metallic gold ink. Each composition is character heavy with a very limited color palette and a focus on not just the movie’s general mood but also hinting the bloodiness and the thrill of the chase.”

SDCC 2022 Exclusive Prints by Kevin Tong

Kevin Tong will be at San Diego Comic-Con setting up shop at booth #933 with a bunch of really cool new SDCC 2022 Exclusive Prints! First up, Kevin will be releasing three beautiful new SDCC 2022 Exclusive 9”x12” Letterpress Prints. “Orbital Decay”, “Nymph” and “Wendigo” are each limited to just 60 pieces.

Check out the Comic-Con 2022 Exclusive “Arecibo”, which is an 18”x24” signed and numbered fine art giclee print. It’s limited to just 40 pieces! As Tong explained, “When the Arecibo Radio Telescope collapsed a few years back, a small part of me collapsed too. In addition to bringing to humanity vast troves of information about the cosmos, it was a great set piece for films like Goldeneye, Contact, and The X-Files. There are efforts to try to rebuild it and the valuable data it has collected since the 1960s was saved by an amazing team of people at the University of Texas. Hopefully in the future, it will continue to have a use, even if it's only for two people.”

Tong will also be releasing a new Screen Print Edition of his Drive movie poster, which will be available for the very first time at SDCC. As Kevin explained, “The colors and metallic inks came out beautifully. It's fitting to be debuting this poster at San Diego Comic-Con because I always see people dressed in Drive cosplay as if the Driver was a hero to emulate. He’s not meant to be an aspirational hero, but rather the movie deconstructs what our notion of a “real hero” is. The gruesome violence and lack of humanity required to defeat “bad guys” is shown and anyone the Driver is connected to, despite their innocence, gets injured, threatened, and killed. His intentions might be good, but he can’t change his nature.” 

“This theme is repeated over and over again in the stories about the scorpion and the frog as well as the bit about sharks. He’s not a hero and he was never supposed to be. I wanted my poster to be emulate that. Lots of Drive art shows the Driver more prominently. I wanted to make him look more questionable and like his world was eternally separate from the shimmering world of good people like Irene and Benicio.” – Kevin Tong

Later today Mondo will be releasing this beautiful new movie poster for Drive starring Ryan Gosling by acclaimed artist Rory Kurtz! Kurtz has been killing it the past year with his movie poster designs, and this Drive screen print is another perfect example of the evolution of his amazing art. Drive “The Driver” Resin Figure by WheresChappell

While The Blot was at San Diego Comic-Con 2016, WheresChappell made available for pre-order the next figure in his killer line of resin figures, which features some of the world’s most popular characters from pop culture rocking classic sneakers. His latest release, which is now sold out, was based on Ryan Gosling’s The Driver from the cult classic 2011 film Drive! Doesn’t this figure look fantastic?

Gosling’s The Driver was available in four colorways’ Clean, Bloody, Black and White, and Bloody Black and White. Each Drive resin figure features the character’s iconic Scorpion jacket and driving gloves, stands 20cm tall and is made of dyed resin with some hand painted parts. These sold out figures originally went up for sale at the Cracked Hatchet online store for just £24.99 each.

RSD 13 Exclusive Drive Soundtrack Tyler Stout Picture Disc LP by Mondo

It’s Record Store Day 2013! This year the one release The Blot is dying to get my hands on is Mondo’s Drive OST LP Picture Disc featuring artwork by Tyler Stout! They took Stout’s two killer Drive screen prints and turned them into two LP vinyl records. Pretty awesome right!?!

The Record Store Day 2013 Exclusive Drive Original Soundtrack LP Picture Disc featuring artwork by Tyler Stout and produced by Mondo has a limited edition run size of just 1,000 pieces and retails for $29.99. Evidently the record had some shipping delays so probably won’t be showing up at your local record store day this weekend, but be sure to call in to if and when they’ll be receiving this awesome release.
