To round out Kidrobot’s 10th Anniversary Collection comes the massive 20” Gold King Dunny by Tristan Eaton! You know Kidrobot X had to include at least one 20” Dunny. So simple and yet so awesome! This metallic Gold King would definitely be a standout piece in anyone’s collection. I just wish/hope there’s an ultra rare Silver King mystery chase in the works!

Kidrobot X: 10th Anniversary Mini ‘Bot

Of all the Kidrobot X releases in honor of Kidrobot’s 10th Anniversary, this is the figure that’s got my scratching my head. The Blot just doesn’t see how it fits in. I would rather have seen a 7” full sized ‘Bot featuring Tristan Eaton’s design than this 10th Anniversary Mini ‘Bot that’s dressed to accept an award rather than celebrate the company’s birthday. And the Mister Universe sash is for what again!?! Although, I am happy to see how popular KR’s Mini ‘Bots have become and how dedicated Kidrobot is to continuing the line. It feels like these Mini ‘Bots are poised to replace their 7” counterparts completely.

The Kidrobot X Mini ‘Bot is the VIP of the Kidrobot anniversary event "Kidrobot X: 10 Years of Art + Design", all suped up in black tie garb (complete with his name printed on his back), black and white kicks, and a “Mister Universe” sash to let the world know: he did it! This 3” figure is scheduled to retail for $14.95 each, and goes on sale October 12th at all Kidrobot stores, Kidrobot.com, and select retailers worldwide.

The Blot was so happy to find out Tristan Eaton’s 10th Anniversary Mini Bot was not a STGCC exclusive after all (as was previously speculated here)! Personally I love this figure’s simple black and gold design rocking one of Tristan’s Kidrobot X logos on its front and Tristan’s logo on its back. Produced to commemorate 10 years of Kidrobot, KR is seriously pulling out all the stops in this month long celebration in conjunction with their retrospective event Kidrobot X: 10 Years of Art + Design.

Tristan Easton’s 10th Anniversary Edition Mini ‘Bot features Kidrobot X’ signature color scheme (black with metallic gold details) and will retail for $14.95 beginning Friday, October 12th, at all Kidrobot retail locations and Kidrobot.com.

Kidrobot X: 10 Years of Art + Design T-Shirt Collection

In celebration of Kidrobot’s 10th Anniversary, KR is releasing five Kidrobot X: 10 Years of Art + Design t-shirts designed by three people extremely influential to the history of KR: Paul Budnitz, Tristan Eaton and Frank Kozik. Paul Budnitz’ t-shirt features a Dunny head sketch on loose leaf paper, while Kozik’s t-shirt features his signature Dunny design cutting into a KR’s birthday cake. Tristan’s t-shirts feature the three Kidrobot X logos he designed that are also being used on the packaging of the Kidrobot X vinyl figures. All five designs come printed on black t-shirts, which matches Kidrobot X’s color scheme of gold, black and white.

All in all The Blot likes this t-shirt collection, but I was hoping for a little bit more. Clearly these three individuals have had a huge impact on Kidrobot being that they created the company’s three signature characters: Dunny, Munny and Labbit. There are a number of other artists that been hugely influential in Kidrobot’s 10 years and I would have loved to see their involvement in the celebration. I guess that’s what the custom pieces at the Kidrobot X: 10 Years of Art + Design show are for? Regardless, I love Tristan’s logos and designs, and think these make an excellent addition to the KR X collection. I just wish they came in white as well!

Kidrobot X: Silver King 8” Dunny by Tristan Eaton

With the return of Tristan Eaton’s Gold King Dunny was there any doubt his rare chase Silver King Dunny could be far behind!?! In honor of Kidrobot’s 10th Anniversary, KR has resurrected Tristan Eaton’s OG Dunny design the Silver King from Dunny Series 1. The Silver King will be unveiled at the Kidrobot X: 10 Years of Art + Design opening night event, Friday, October 12th, at Kidrobot New York. The upstairs of KRNY will be transformed into an exhibition showcasing a variety of toys, plush, and other special creations from Kidrobot’s past, 2002 to the present. Limited to just 300 pieces and available only at KRNY means this figure is going to be the crown jewel of some very lucky collectors’ collections!

The Dunny Kings reign again! In honor of Kidrobot’s 10th Anniversary, KR has resurrected Tristan Eaton’s OG Dunny design the Gold King from Dunny Series 1. The Blot loves that Kidrobot is going old school as part of their month long Kidrobot X: 10 Years of Art + Design celebration. IMHO, any long time collector of designer art toys is going to want to add this figure to their collection. It’s such a signature piece in the history of Kidrobot and this genre in general.

Kidrobot X: 10 Years of Art + Design

It’s hard to believe this October Kidrobot turns 10 years old! That’s pretty ancient in the world of designer art toys. To celebrate this impressive milestone, Kidrobot has some really exciting releases and events planned for the entire month of October all centered around the theme “Kidrobot X : 10 years of art + design”. In honor of this magical 10 year milestone, KR will be busting out 10 special releases including 2 new Mini ‘Bots, a 20 inch and two 8 inch Dunnys, plus 5 new 10th Anniversary t-shirts designed by Paul Budnitz, Tristan Eaton and Frank Kozik.

Kidrobot will also be hosting a Kidrobot X Anniversary Party and 10 day art toy retrospective on the 2nd floor of Kidrobot New York, from Friday, October 12th, through Monday, October 22nd. This event will open during NYCC and highlight some of the most iconic art toys Kidrobot has produced these past ten years, as well as feature custom 20 inch & 8 inch Dunnys by some of your favorite designers. The Blot would love to get up to NYC for the KR X show, although I’m not 100% sure it’s in the cards. Kidrobot 10th Anniversary Mini 'Bot by Tristan Eaton

This weekend is the 2012 Singapore Toy, Game and Comic Convention, and according to its website Tristan Eaton will be releasing a STGCC Exclusive Kidrobot 10th Anniversary Mini Bot there! Thanks to Vinyl Pulse, we have the awesome pictures above, and man does this vinyl figure look slick! This beautiful black and gold 3” ‘Bot features a “10” on its chest (for KR’s 10th Anniversary) and Tristan’s autograph on its back. I’m really hoping this is not a STGCC exclusive as advertised, because I know a ton of diehard Kidrobot fans who are already itching to get their hands on this 10th Anniversary figure.
