Star Wars “Prototype Armor” Boba Fett Super Shogun Figure by Super7 x Funko

Yesterday, Funko announced a surprise third colorway of its super popular Boba Fett Super Shogun Star Wars figure!!! Released exclusively at the brand spanking new Funko online store, the “Prototype Armor” Boba Fett Super Shogun features the all-white color scheme (with black facemask) that was originally envisioned for the character by designer Ralph Mcquarrie. Looks amazing don’t you think!?! If The Blot had won the Powerball lottery last night this figure would soooo be mine!

The Star Wars “Prototype Armor” Boba Fett Super Shogun stands a whopping 24” tall, features 3 points of articulation, and includes all of the features that you’d expect from an authentic Jumbo: free rotating wheels on the bottom of his feet, spring-loaded missile firing jetpack and wrist launcher, and comes with metallic foil stickers. Utilizing the same techniques implemented by Japanese toy manufacturers in the 1970s, this Star Wars Super Shogun is constructed from durable, blow-molded polyethylene with a painted vinyl helmet.

Star Wars “Empire Version” Boba Fett Super Shogun Figure by Super7 x Funko

Star Wars “Empire Version” Boba Fett Super Shogun Figure by Super7 x Funko

The Blot almost woke up my sleeping kids last night when I freaking squealed like a little girl after randomly visiting Super7’s online store and noticing they’d posted the all new Star Wars “Empire Version” Boba Fett Super Shogun vinyl figure!!! I’ve been waiting years for this figure to finally be released to the general public and it happened this week. Thank you Super7 and Funko, who have teamed up to release this perfect mash-up of Star Wars and Jumbo Machinder toys (marketed in the US as Shogun Warriors).

The Star Wars “Empire Version” Boba Fett Super Shogun features a color scheme based on the character’s appearance in Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back and stands a whopping 24” tall! Each figure includes all of the features that you’d expect from an authentic Jumbo: free rotating wheels on the bottom of his feet, spring-loaded missile firing jetpack and wrist launcher, and comes with metallic foil stickers. Utilizing the same techniques implemented by Japanese toy manufacturers in the 1970s, this Star Wars Super Shogun is constructed from durable, blow-molded polyethylene with a painted vinyl helmet. I cannot wait to get my hands on this release!

Collectors can order this amazing Boba Fett Super Shogun now (yes, it’s actually in stock!) at Entertainment Earth for $199.99 here

Star Wars Celebration Exclusive Boba Fett & Shadowtrooper Super Shogun by Super7 & Funko

Star Wars Celebration 2015 Exclusive Boba Fett Super Shogun Vinyl Figure by Super7 & Funko

Funko has announced its newest collaboration with Super7 will be debuting this week at Star Wars Celebration 2015, and The Blot can’t wait! After a five year delay, the Star Wars Super Shogun toy line is finally being extended with the release of the epic Boba Fett and Shadowtrooper Super Shogun figures! While these are being marketed as Star Wars Celebration 2015 exclusives, I have a hard time believing the Boba Fett figure, with all that tooling, won’t be seeing a wider release. Plus, I really need one in my collection! The last I heard it was only the Shadowtrooper, which is just an all black edition of the original Stormtrooper Super Shogun, that would be a Celebration exclusive.

Star Wars Celebration 2015 Exclusive Shadowtrooper Super Shogun Vinyl Figure by Super7 & Funko

Both the Boba Fett and Shadwotrooper Super Shogun vinyl figures by Super7 and Funko stand 24” tall, have wheeled feet, and feature rocket blasting weapons (left fist and jetpack launcher for Boba and left fist for the Shadowtrooper). Both of these massive figures can be purchased at the Funko Star Wars Celebration booth #1410 this week.

Toy Fair 1st Look: Boba Fett & Shadowtrooper Star Wars Super Shoguns by Super7 & Funko

Toy Fair 1st Look: Boba Fett & Shadowtrooper Super Shoguns by Super7 & Funko

After first being teased almost five years ago (seen here), the Boba Fett Super Shogun vinyl figure is finally being released! Just like the ReAction figure toy line, the Star Wars Super Shogun line will now be produced as a collaboration between Super7 and Funko. Fans went crazy for the original Stormtrooper Super Shogun, but after all this time The Blot honestly thought this project had been abandoned. Now not only are we getting a Boba Fett Super Shogun, but S7 and Funko are expanding the line to include a Shadowtrooper as well. Just check out this awesome picture from Funko’s Instagram feed, which shows both figures on display at Toy Fair 2015.

Star Wars x Super7 Imperial Forces Wallpaper

Star Wars x Super7 Imperial Forces Wallpaper

Here’s a little known fact: when The Blot was a little kid (from the age of 5 until 13 to be exact) I had the coolest Return of the Jedi wallpaper in my room! Yup, I was the envy of elementary school age Star Wars fans across the state of Alabama. The only reason it wasn’t in my room after the age of 13 is because we moved…and I still miss that wallpaper. Thankfully Super7 has teamed up with Lucasfilm to produce this incredible “Imperial Forces” Star Wars wallpaper! Only question I have now is how do I convince my wife to let me wallpaper one of the rooms in our new house?

Star Wars x Super7 Imperial Forces Wallpaper

The Imperial Forces wallpaper features textured portraits of Darth Vader, Boba Fett and members of the Empire. This hand-screened, flocked, designer wallpaper is an artistic way to decorate your office, collectibles room, or space station…and The Blot must have it! Originally created by Super7 founder Brian Flynn as unique decoration for his retail store on San Francisco’s historic Haight St., the wallpaper was noticed by Star Wars super-collector and author Steve Sansweet, who took note of the high-quality and striking presentation. Super7 then contacted Lucasfilm to turn the one-of-a-kind wall art into an officially licensed product.

The Star Wars x Super7 Imperial Forces wallpaper is available at the Super7 online store in a variety of roll sizes: Half Roll (27" x 90" able to cover 17 sq ft) for $75; Single Roll (27" x 180" able to cover 33.75 sq ft) for $120; Double Roll (27" x 360" able to cover 67.5 sq ft) for $240; and a Triple Roll (27" x 540" able to cover 101 sq ft) for $350.

Star Wars x adidas Originals Fall/Winter 2010 Sneaker Collection

The adidas Originals x Star Wars Collection continues this fall/winter with five new Star Wars inspired sneakers from adidas. The first is the Han Solo SL-72 sneaker which is based on the scene in The Empire Strikes Back where Han is frozen in carbonite. It’s a pretty cool idea if you ask me, and the shoes actually come with a silver cover so you can freeze your sneakers in carbonite too!

Star Wars x adidas Originals Fall/Winter 2010 Collection - Han Solo in Carbonite SL-72 Sneakers
While the Han Solo in Carbonite SL-72s are The Blot’s personal favorite, I’ve got a feeling a lot of Star Wars fans will be going crazy over the Droids Top Ten Low, which features the most popular droids in the galaxy, R2-D2 and C-3PO. Each sneaker is split down the middle, with the outside representing R2-D2’s blue, white and silver color scheme and the inside resembling C-3PO’s gold and black colors. If you notice in the photot, inside the adidas stripes you can see wiring that looks like 3PO’s midsection.

Star Wars x adidas Originals Fall/Winter 2010 Collection - R2-D2 and C-3PO Droids Top Ten Low Sneakers
Rounding out the adidas Originals x Star Wars Fall/Winter 2010 sneaker collection is a green Metro Attitude sneaker inspired by Jabba the Hutt, a furry brown Jogging High sneaker inspired by Chewbacca, and a Boba Fett inspired ZX 800 sneaker. Adidas did an amazing job with colors of the ZX 800, it really does look just like Boba Fett’s armor.

Star Wars x adidas Originals Fall/Winter 2010 Collection - Jabba the Hutt Green Metro Attitude Sneakers, Chewbacca Brown Furry Jogging Hight Sneakers & Boba Fett ZX 800 Sneakers
While the Han Solo in Carbonite SL-72s are my favorite because of their creativity and uniqueness, these Boba Fett sneakers are the shoes I’m most likely to buy! The adidas Originals x Star Wars Fall/Winter 2010 Collection should start showing up in adidas Originals retail locations sometime in September, so be on the look out.

Star Wars x Super7 Boba Fett Super Shogun Teaser Image

Super7’s hotly anticipated collaboration with Star Wars, the Stormtrooper Super Shogun, was officially released over the weekend and there was an extra special teaser included on the figure’s packaging…a teaser image for the upcoming Boba Fett Super Shogun!!!

Star Wars x Super7 Boba Fett Super Shogun Teaser Image
Not only that, but the packaged noted that the Stormtrooper Super Shogun was the 1st in a series, so hopefully there’ll are even more Star Wars Super Shoguns in the works. As you know, Boba Fett is one of The Blot’s favorite Star Wars characters, so this is definitely going to be a must get for me.

Star Wars x Super7 Stormtrooper Super Shogun Packaging

Super7 recently unveiled the packaging of its upcoming Star Wars collaboration, the limited edition 24 inch Stormtrooper Super Shogun. Both the figure’s color packaging and cardboard shipping carton look awesome, and I love the way they’ve modeled it after the packaging of old school Super Shogun figures from long ago (see the second photo below).

Star Wars x Super7 Stormtrooper Super Shogun Packaging
Star Wars x Super7 Stormtrooper Super Shogun Packaging Comparison
Each figure also includes two torso stickers, one in English and one in Japanese. Just from the packaging alone, you can really tell the love and passion that was put into this product by the good folks at Super7, and The Blot can’t wait to see the final version of the 24” Stormtrooper Super Shogun in person.

Star Wars x Super7 Stormtrooper Super Shogun Torso Stickers
The Star Wars x Super7 Stormtrooper Super Shogun is currently available for pre-order directly from Super7 here. The figure retails for $299.00, and even at that price these amazing retro figures won’t last long.

Super7 x Star Wars Stormtrooper Super Shogun

Both toy collectors and Star Wars fans alike have been waiting for an official announcement concerning this amazing collaboration between Super7 and Lucasfilm Ltd. for a very long time, and yesterday that announcement was finally released! Utilizing the same techniques implemented by Japanese toy manufacturers in the 1970s, the Super Shogun Stormtrooper is constructed from durable, blow-molded polyethylene with a painted vinyl helmet.

Super7 x Lucasfilm Ltd. Star Wars Super Shogun Stormtrooper
The Star Wars Stormtrooper Super Shogun stands a whopping 24 inches tall and includes all of the features that you expect from an authentic Jumbo: free rotating wheels on the bottom of his feet, and a spring-loaded Rocket Punch firing fist! The figure is articulated at the neck and shoulders, and includes a removable, highly-detailed BlasTech E-11 laser blaster. The blaster even features a posable stock that unfolds from below the barrel. Collectors of both Japanese and Star Wars memorabilia are sure to be impressed with the care taken to fuse the disparate concepts into a new unique entity.

Super7 x Lucasfilm Ltd. Star Wars Super Shogun Stormtrooper
Packaged in an illustrated gift box with iconic graphics from both franchises, each Stormtrooper is individually serial numbered as part of this one time limited edition production run. As a special bonus, metallic foil stickers are included for you to customize the torso with the character name in English or in Japanese. The 24” Super7 x Star Wars Super Shogun Stormtrooper will retail for $300 each and will go be available through www.starwars.super7store.com soon, a new dedicated mini-website launched in celebration of this figure’s impending release.

Star Wars x adidas Originals Clothing Line and Sneakers

Star Wars x adidas Originals - StormtrooperEveryone and their mother is freaking out about today’s release of the new Star Wars x adidas Origianls line of clothing and sneakers. While The Blot is not a huge shell toe sneaker kind of a guy, I can definitely get behind this adidas Originals x Star Wars collaboration way more than the previously released Mark Ekco line of Star Wars clothing. ADIDAS new chain of Originals stores are amazing and always have the best retro gear. Sadly there isn’t one in Houston, but when I’m out of town I always try to hit one up.

Star Wars x adidas Originals - Star Wars T-Shirt
Star Wars x adidas Originals - TIE Fighter Sneakers
This stellar collection fuses iconic Star Wars characters and scenes with classic adidas Originals footwear and apparel silhouettes. Inspired by the galactic saga, the Star Wars collection consists of limited edition as well as mass distribution footwear, apparel and accessories for men, women and kids. Classic adidas Originals track tops, and several legendary sneaker styles are represented with characters and scenes from the epic saga in reinterpreted versions.

Star Wars x adidas Originals - Darth Vader Hooded Track Jacket
Star Wars x adidas Originals - Yoda Sneakers
The collection for the first season is split into three packs -- The Characters Pack, the Vehicles Pack and the Direct Pack. The products in each pack take inspiration from the respective aspect of the Star Wars lexicon from legendary characters and crafts to classic scenes and fuse them with iconic adidas Originals silhouettes. The pieces will begin to hit all adidas Originals stores and other select retailers in January 2010.

Star Wars x adidas Originals - Slave Princess Leia Organa Sneakers
Star Wars x adidas Originals - X-Wing Pilot Luke Skywalker Sneakers
The Characters Pack takes the most iconic moments and characters from the Star Wars saga and brings them to life across five sneakers, two short sleeve T-shirts and the Superstar Track Top. The Vehicles Pack takes inspiration from the well known vehicles and crafts from the Star Wars saga and translates them to our five most iconic adidas Originals sneakers and two key adidas Originals apparel models. And lastly, the Direct Pack features Darth Vader, the Stormtroopers as well as the Women's Game Mid silhouette that is inspired by Princess Leia, featuring gold detailing paired with a modern high-top silhouette with matching apparel.

Star Wars x adidas Originals - AT-AT Sneakers
Star Wars x adidas Originals - Stormtrooper Sneakers
The limited edition sneakers are going to be impossible to find and probably already sold out around the world. I’m currently on the hunt for a pair of either the Slave Leia sneakers or Yoda sneakers in size 14 or 15, but I’ve got a feeling my search is going to be pretty unsuccessful. What’s really cool about the limited edition Star Wars x adidas Original sneakers is that they come packaged in full color blister cards just like Star Wars action figures. How cool is that!

Star Wars x adidas Originals - Darth Vader T-Shirt
Star Wars x adidas Originals - Star Wars Famous Scenes Micropacer
The mass produced (and reasonably priced) Star Wars x adidas Originals clothing line and sneakers can be purchased directly from ADIDAS here. For those of you looking for the hard to find stuff, May The Force Be With You!

Star Wars Ahsoka Mighty Muggs at The Empire Muggs Back Charity Auction

It seems like everyone has been anxiously awaiting news on the long rumored Ahsoka Mighty Mugg that showed up on the back of a few packages earlier this year. While The Blot doesn’t have any concrete information on the status of the Ahsoka Star Wars Mighty Muggs, I have a hunch the latest addition to The Empire Muggs Back charity auction has probably given us our answer.

The Empire Muggs Back - Custom Star Wars Mighty Muggs Charity Auction
There were two new custom Mighty Muggs added to the Star Wars charity auction website recently, and both were created by Hasbro employees. While the first one is nice, it’s the second one everyone should find extremely interesting as it is described as an Ahsoka unproduced prototype created by Chris Hicks, Hasbro’s Mighty Mugg Overlord. Now I don’t know if the release of this figure spells certain doom for a mass produced Ahsoka Mighty Mugg, but it certainly doesn’t look good for this popular Clone Wars character.

The Empire Muggs Back Charity Auction - Ahsoka Unproduced Prototype Mighty Mugg by Chris Hicks, Hasbro's Mighty Mugg Overlord
The Ahsoka unproduced prototype Mighty Mugg is currently up for auction here and, as of the time I am writing this, only going for $60. All proceeds go to the Make-A-Wish foundation, so big early and often!

The Empire Muggs Back - Custom Star Wars Mighty Muggs Charity Auction

The Empire Muggs Back logoIf you’re a Mighty Muggs fan and have some spare funds to throw around, The Blot highly recommends picking up one of these amazing Star Wars custom Mighty Muggs. They look amazing and all proceeds go to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Supposedly they had a bunch of these on display at San Diego Comic Con, but I could never find them. You can check out all of the custom Mighty Muggs vinyl figures for sale here. The Blot meant to post this yesterday since the charity auction started yesterday, but I ran out of time before flying home to Alabama last night. I've included the official press release below:

Lucasfilm Ltd. and StarWars.com are pleased to present The Empire Muggs Back, an auction hosted by the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Artists, comic book creators, toy designers, and celebrity fans armed with markers, paint brushes and glue guns transformed blank Mighty Muggs into one-of-a-kind Star Wars art to be auctioned by the Foundation.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars Animated Feature Film

The Blot was all excited to talk about Star Wars: The Clone Wars, the animated feature film debuting in theaters today, but then reviews of the movie started to trickle out from media outlets and around the web. Let’s just put it bluntly, everyone hates it! I can’t tell you how disappointing that news is, but at least it’ll save me from having to take a trip to my local theater and shell out who knows how much money.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars Anakin Skywalker Movie Banner
Star Wars The Clone Wars Ahsoka Tano vs. Asajj Ventress Movie PosterI guess now I’ll just wait for the movie's DVD release or its replay on TNT before the start of the new Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated television series. I had some high hopes for this animated movie, but I should have learned by now that any movie associated with George Lucas in this day and age is going to be a disappointment (no matter how much money a movie grosses). It really sucks that his ideas and imagination can’t be translated into movie masterpieces like they once were in the 70’s and 80’s.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars Theatrical Trailer and Poster

Star Wars: The Clone Wars LogoIf you’re thinking, wait I thought Star Wars: The Clone Wars cartoon was an upcoming animated television series and not an animated movie, you’d be half right. As it turns out the folks at Lucasfilm Animation have decided to launch the upcoming animated television series by first releasing a full length movie in theaters on August 15th, which “tells an all-new story that leads directly in to this fall’s premiere of a weekly, animated Star Wars: The Clone Wars television series.” (link) The CG-animated television series will first air on the “Cartoon Network, followed by airings on TNT” (both of which are Turner Networks). (link)

Star Wars: The Clone Wars Theatrical One Sheet Movie Poster
Star Wars: The Clone Wars Celebration IV PosterThe Blot is actually more excited about this upcoming ongoing Star Wars: The Clone Wars series than I am the rumored to be in production live action Star Wars television show. Hopefully this show will be as good as Star Wars: Clone Wars, a series of 20 animated shorts that also aired on the Cartoon Network in 2003, was. Star Wars: The Clone Wars focuses “on the front lines of an intergalactic struggle between good and evil” as “Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Padme Amidala, along with brand-new heroes like Anakin’s padawan learner, Ahsoka,” struggle against “sinister villains - led by Palpatine, Count Dooku and General Grievous,” who “are poised to rule the galaxy.” (link) If you haven’t seen the new Star Wars: The Clone Wars trailer yet, watch the video below because the CG-animation looks really great.
