Dave Perillo’s NYCC 2024 Exclusive Prints!

Dave Perillo will be set up all weekend long at New York Comic Con 2024 with fellow artist Ian Glaubinger at their NYCC booth #1770.  Dave’s brought some fantastic exclusives with him this year at the Javits Center in NYC. First up is killer Halloween horror movie inspired screen print “Fright Fight!” This NYCC 2024 Exclusive is a 12”x12” hand numbered 7 color screen print. Who do you think would win in this ghoulish battle royale?

Then there is the McDonald’s inspired “Village Nuggest”! Don’t these Chicken McNuggets look adorable!?!  It is a set of six 4”x4” screen prints, each featuring a different Chicken McNugget character.

Then there’s this awesome Halloween two color screen print. As Perillo explained, it is “Based on one of my favorites Halloween III: Season of the Witch.” This print is a 12”x12” hand numbered 2 color screen print on French Speckletone paper to give it that extra vintage vibe. Limited to just 31 pieces, it will retail for $31 (with a one dollar NYCC discount, so $30 at the show).

McDonald’s “McPunk’n” Art Print by Dave Perillo

There’s been a ton of McDonald’s talk the past few weeks between the new Cactus Plant Flea Market Adult Happy Meal collab and the return of their beloved Happy Meal Halloween buckets. So it’s the perfect time for artist Dave Perillo to release this fantastic retro McPunk’n art print! It’s a loving tribute by Dave to all of Mickey D’s Halloween releases from years past. McPunk’n includes the popular Halloween Happy Buckets, the Happy Meal food characters and those crazy cosplaying Chicken McNuggest. The nostalgia is strong in this art print!

Today, McDonald’s launched their new collab with streetwear brand Cactus Plant Flea Market! McD’s is now selling an Adult Happy Meal that includes either a Big Mac or 10 piece Chicken McNuggets, fries and a drink, plus a limited edition Cactus Plant Flea Market x McDonald’s collectible figure!  There are four figures to choose from featuring CPFM signature art style: Cactus Buddy, Grimace, Birdie and The Hamburglar. But that’s not all! DCon 2021 Exclusive Sexy Ronald OG Edition Vinyl Figure by Wizard Skull x UVD Toys

SDCC 2020 Exclusive False Idols Mini Art Show by ADi

San Diego Comic-Con 2020 may be canceled, but that doesn’t mean the exclusives have been! Comic-Con at Home is just around the corner, and DKE Toys will be releasing a ton of awesome exclusives. This includes hosting a mini art show by artist ADi entitled “False Idols”! ADi is an Australian born artist who caught DKE Toys’ attention with his series called False Idols. Each False Idol is a one of a kind handmade wooden statue that reduces a character’s traits to simple colors and geometric shapes. DKE Toys was fortunate to receive about a dozen pieces, which range in price from $140-240 each.

DKE Toys is hosting a LIVE virtual event in place of the canceled San Diego Comic-Con 2020. For your enjoyment DKE Toys has created #DKECON to fill the gaping hole in your canceled convention season. The pandemic has provided the unusual opportunity of inviting everyone the DKE team knows to their San Diego Comic-Con “booth”.

The DKE Toys booth will be set up in the DKE warehouse and available to all via a live continuous Zoom meeting and for the first time in DKE Toys history all of the SDCC convention releases will be available in an online store.

The online store will open at 5pm on Wednesday, July 22nd, and remain open 24 hours a day through Sunday, July 26th, for the duration of the show.

All exclusive products will be limited to one per person per item on Wednesday night. Starting Thursday two or more will be available. Starting Thursday at 10am the DKE Toys warehouse will be open for walk in business one customer at a time, state and local government regulations permitting.

Mighty Jaxx has released the third colorway of Friendly Fire, the explosive new reisn figure by Jason Freeny. “The Big Mic Attack” colorway was inspired by the fast food juggernaut McDonalds and its clown of a mascot. Released exclusively via the Mighty Jaxx newsletter, a small number of these Ronald McDonald inspired resin figures were also made available at Kidrobot.com. Freeny’s juxtaposition of Disney’s Mickey Mouse with a devastating bomb in McDonalds’ signature red, white and yellow color scheme is definitely a conversation starter!

“My Merica” Print by Aaron Kaufman

Our friends at Inside the Rock Poster Frame have teamed up with Canadian artist Aaron Kaufman to produce a pretty powerful new print entitled “My Merica.” As Kaufman explains, “This piece began as an exercise of juxtaposition, by taking colloquialisms, news headlines and visuals, and mixing them together to create imagery. The expression "my 'merica" was a catalyst in the creation of this piece, as I tried to imagine how contemporary America could be portrayed and understood in the world. It became a response to the constant news headlines and media stories in the US: gun control, school shootings, weight loss, obesity and fast food culture.”

The killer Deadbeet colorways just keep on coming! This time it’s another collaboration between Scott Tolleson and Nebulon5. Based on the popular McDonalds character, the Grimace Deadbeet is a metallic purple monster with bright gold eyes and tongue. While the figure alone is pretty cool, it’s the packaging that really makes this figure something special! I love Tolleson’s version of Ronald McDonald and friends that adorn the header card, and how awesome is it that Scott is wrapping each figure in an actual McDonalds cheeseburger wrapper. That’s really thinking outside the Big Mac box!
