DCon 2019 Exclusive Jiangshi Pac-Man Edition Vinyl Figures by Luke Chueh x VTSS

Later this month, VTSS will be releasing this Pac-Man inspired series of Jiangshi sofubi by Luke Chueh exclusively at Designer Con 2019! This convention exclusive wave of figures includes red, orange, pink and blue colorways of Chueh’s Jiangshi soft vinyl figure. Each figure stands 6.7” tall and comes with a totem on its forehead. Collectors can purchase these limited edition figures at the VTSS DCon booth #834 for $90 each or $320 for a four piece set.

Threadless “Pop Culture” Soda Can T-Shirt

This newest pop culture inspired design by Threadless definitely puts the “pop” in soda pop! As you can tell, "Pop Culture" takes the minimalistic design craze that is sweeping the nation and applies it to coke cans (or beer cans depending on your preference). Each minimalistic designed can represents a key figure in pop culture. I would have liked this t-shirt a whole lot more if I hadn’t seen a million different versions of it over the past 6 months, but that’s also probably why the shirt got printed in the first place. They’re all fairly easy to identify, except maybe the first two. Although once you read who they are you’ll see it right away.

If Star Wars is Threadless’ favorite pop culture subject to spoof, then coming in at a very close second is Pac-Man. “Late Night Snack” is the third Pac-Man themed shirt released by Threadless in the last two months, and it’s definitely my favorite of the bunch. I love its use of Pac-Man as the moon, and the fact that the artists included all four ghosts, power pellets and even some of the bonus fruit! But where are the 8-bit strawberries!?!

Threadless Pac-Man Inspired Ghost T-Shirts

In the last two weeks Threadless has released 2 awesome Pac-Man themed t-shirts that I know fans of the classic arcade game will want to pick up! The first is “Medium Difficulty,” which features Blinky being summoned to a séance straight out of the 1920s. While that shirt’s cool, The Blot really likes “Incognito,” which features a defenseless blue ghost in disguise (probably hiding out from a hungry Pac-Man).

The Blot’s a sucker for video game themed t-shirts, and “This Game Sucks” from Threadless.com is a “must get” if for no other reason than the sheer number of classic arcade game characters incorporated in the design. From old school legends like Pac-Man, Q-Bert, Frogger and Dig Dug to Nintendo mainstays like Mario, Link, Mega Man and Donkey Kong, how could you not like this shirt!?! “This Game Sucks” by David Creighton-Pester

Normally, I would have already purchased this geek-tastic shirt, but there’s one thing holding me back: the tee’s dreadful color. I can’t stand the creme colored shirt Threadless chose for this design. Here’s hoping “This Game Sucks” sells out quickly so Threadless can reprint it on a color tee I don’t mind wearing.

Pac-Man Hooded Sweatshirt

Sticking with today’s theme of classic arcade game related products, The Blot just had to talk about this awesome Pac-Man Hoodie. I think this black and blue hoodie based on the Namco video game has been out for a while, but it’s new to me which means it’s also new to The Blot Says… Pac-Man is THE quintessential 80’s video game and this hoodie’s crazy design is like wearing the actual game.


As you can see from the pictures, the Pac-Man Hooded Sweatshirt has the Pac-Man game board all over its front, back and hood, and even features Pac-Man being chased by those pesky ghosts, Blinky, Pinky, Inky and Clyde.
