Marvel’s Secret Wars Wolverine 12” Jumbo Vintage Action Figure by Gentle Giant

Gentle Giant has announced the third figure in its new Marvel’s Secret Wars Jumbo 12” Action Figure toy line, and it’s everyone’s favorite mutant, Wolverine! Based on the character's look in the iconic '84 comic book limited series Secret Wars, the X-Men leader was digitally scanned from Mattel’s original Secret Wars action figure from the 1980s and reproduced as a whopping 12” tall collectible.

Roto and injection molded and made of durable plastics, this articulated jumbo Marvel’s Secret Wars figure includes a faithfully reproduced lenticular shield just like the classic ‘80s toy. Wolverine also comes with two pairs of re-produced clip on claws. To further capture the vintage feel, Gentle Giant has packaged this Marvel action figure with a Secret Wars inspired backer card featuring original photos and artwork in a resealable plastic outer clam shell.

RSD 2015 Exclusive Better Call Saul Theme Song 7” Single Vinyl Record by Junior Brown & SPACELAB9

Record Store Day recently announced their long list of RSD 2015 exclusives, and The Blot was super excited to learn that our friends at SPACELAB9 were releasing a 7” single of the Better Call Saul theme song by Junior Brown! The Breaking Bad prequel is one of The Blot’s favorite television shows on air right now, and I love that SPACELAB9 has teamed up with AMC to release the theme on vinyl. The single’s Side A is Junior Brown performing the Better Call Saul theme song, while Side B is an instrumental version of the song.

G.I. Joe Snake Eyes 12” Jumbo Vintage Action Figure by Gentle Giant

Gentle Giant has unveiled the third figure in its new G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero Jumbo 12” Action Figure toy line, and it’s the Joe’s most popular member, Snake Eyes! The G.I. Joe Commando was one of the first figures released in Hasbro’s Real American Hero toy line that started way back in 1982. These jumbo figures are exact reproductions of the original 3 ¾” figures, using digital scanning and outputting to create an exact replica, only larger! Each figure will be reproduced using the original engineering of this iconic retro toy line, right down to the internal rubber band.

The G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero Snake Eyes Jumbo 12” Action Figure by Gentle Giant features accurate articulation, character specific accessories, and comes packaged on a backer card featuring photos and artwork from the original RAH packaging. Funko (through its Vinyl Sugar imprint) has officially released its new toy line Dorbz, and they’re kicking it off with a gigantic wave of Guardians of the Galaxy vinyl figures. Man, these Marvel characters have never looked so cute! Each Guardians of the Galaxy Dorbz vinyl figure stands 3” tall and features a high quality paint design. The best part of this series is that it’s not being sold blind box style! Collectors get to pick and choose the characters you want to buy.

The Guardians of the Galaxy Dorbz Vinyl Figure Series includes heroes Star-Lord (masked and unmasked), Rocket Raccoon, Groot, Gamora and Drax, and villains Ronan, Nebula, Yondu, Korath and The Collector. The only character missing is the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s big bad, the mad Titan Thanos!

ECCC Exclusive Soundwave Transformers Vinyl Figure by WeLoveFine

The Blot’s been going back and forth for a couple of weeks now trying to decide whether or not to blog about this Emerald City Comicon 2015 exclusive. While I personally think this officially licensed Transformers vinyl figure designed by Wade Schin and produced by WeLoveFine looks awesome, it also looks (at least on the surface) to be based on Rich Page’s (of UME Toys) Scamwave figure. The resemblances are uncanny to say the least. That being said, I’m going to give Schin the benefit of the doubt and hope it’s not a complete copy.

The Emerald City Comicon 2015 Exclusive Soundwave Transformers vinyl figure stands 7” tall and 5.5” wide, and retails for just $40. What’s interesting is the figure itself is not an ECCC exclusive. What is exclusive is Soundwave’s green Super Mix tape accessory that can actually be placed inside of his chest. The green tape is limited to just 1,400 pieces (yeah that does sound like a lot!). It’s a pretty cool feature for a designer toy, but I do wish the standard edition, which also retails for $40, at least included a different color tape. Otherwise what’s the point of having the figure’s chest be able to be opened? Doctor Fate Helmet Constantine Prop Replica by DC Comics

While The Blot isn’t that into NBC’s Constantine live action television show, I’m kind of obsessed with the show accurate Doctor Fate Helmet prop replicas DC Comics is about to release! Originally appearing in the Constantine pilot episode, the Helmet of Fate was designed by Alex Ross and Larry Malott and sculpted by Adam Ross. This killer comic book prop stands 18” tall and comes in two super expensive editions: a Standard Edition that features an electroplated metallic finish and a very rare limited edition 24K Gold Edition.

While both versions of DC Comics’ Doctor Fate Helmet Constantine Prop Replica aren't scheduled to hit store shelves until October 2015, they are currently available for pre-order from our friends at Entertainment Earth! “Green Slime” Alien Popy Vinyl Figure by Super7 & Secret Base

The deadly Xenomorph from the Alien film franchise gets ejected into outer space, burned, shot, stabbed, you name it, and it just keeps coming back for more. So too does the Alien Popy vinyl figure by Super7 and Secret Base! For its fifth colorway, the Alien Xenomorph “Big Chap” has been cast in stunning translucent green soft Japanese vinyl with a killer black paint rub and crystal clear vinyl dome. Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron Character Movie Poster Set - James Spader as Ultron

After releasing an epic nine piece Avengers: Age of Ultron Character Movie Poster Set (seen here), you know it was only a matter of time before Marvel released a poster for the film’s big bad guy. Thankfully they didn’t wait long, because here it is! The poster still isn’t a full on view of James Spader’s Ultron, it is a pretty awesome looking poster. Doesn’t he look super ominous?

Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron assembles in theaters on May 1, 2015. Age of Ultron also stars Robert Downey, Jr. as Iron Man, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Mark Ruffalo as Hulk, Chris Evans as Captain America, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, Samuel L. RSD 2015 Exclusive WWE The Wrestling Album & Piledriver Double LP Colored Vinyl Records

Record Store Day has announced their long list of RSD 2015 exclusives, and at the top of The Blot’s must get list is this double LP of WWE’s classic ‘80s albums, The Wrestling Album and Piledriver: The Wrestling Album 2! The Wrestling Album was the first album released by the WWE (then the WWF) back in 1985, and featured mostly theme music of wrestlers on the roster at the time. Piledriver was released two years later (1987) and features actual vocal performances from several of the wrestlers themselves. I can still remember buying Piledriver on CD and listening to that album over and over again! I can’t wait to rebuy it for the first time in almost 30 years, but this time on vinyl.

The Record Store Day 2015 Exclusive The Wrestling Album and Piledriver Double LP by WWE and Legacy on two 12” colored vinyl records and is limited to 2,755 pieces.
