Marvel Character Portrait Enamel Pins by Tom Whalen

Tonight Mondo is holding the opening reception for its newest group art show “SNIKT BAMF THWIP: A Celebration of Marvel Comics”! This epic exhibit features some amazing new officially licensed Marvel Comics screen prints, paintings, and these amazing Marvel Character Portrait Pins by Tom Whalen! The Blot’s just not sure what I love more, these enamel pins or their Marvel comic book inspired packaging.

For the SNIKT BAMF THWIP group art show, Tom has designed character portrait pins of Spider-Man, Daredevil, Bullseye, Wolverine and Ultron. Each pin retails for just $10, with any remaining inventory going on sale at the Mondo online store in the coming weeks. This killer celebration of Marvel Comics opens tonight, Friday, December 11th, at the Mondo Gallery (4115 Guadalupe Street) in Austin, Texas from 7 - 10pm.

Avengers: Age of Ultron Screen Print by Tyler Stout

Later today, Hero Complex Gallery will be releasing one of the most hotly requested screen prints of the year, an Avengers: Age of Ultron movie poster by Tyler Stout! The Blot’s been dying to see a Stout Age of Ultron design, and TStout definitely knocked it out of the park. Has anyone ever crammed so much Marvel goodness in one poster!?!

The Avengers: Age of Ultron screen print by Tyler Stout will be released in three limited edition colorways. The Regular Edition features metallic silver inks, is limited to 750 pieces and will retail for $60. The Variant Edition features metallic gold and silver inks, is limited to 350 pieces and retails for $110. Last but not least is the Cast and Crew Variant Edition, which will not be made publicly available and was given out to the cast and crew of the film, features multiple metallic inks and is limited to just 160 pieces.

SDCC 15 Exclusive Avengers: Age of Ultron Variant Screen Print by Martin Ansin

Yesterday at San Diego Comic-Con 2015, Mondo had a truly epic surprise release! Check out this killer Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron screen print by Martin Ansin!!! I seriously love this design. It has a very comic book style feel to it while featuring the characters’ looks from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. And Ansin did a really cool job of fitting in Bruce Banner in the design as well. The San Diego Comic-Con 2015 Exclusive Avengers: Age of Ultron Variant Screen Print by Martin Ansin measures 36”x24” and is limited to just 250 pieces.

At the same time this print dropped at SDCC, Mondo also released the Standard Edition of the movie poster online! Unfortunately it sold out almost immediately upon release. The Age of Ultron Standard Edition Print has a limited edition run size of 450 pieces and retail for $50.

SDCC 15 Exclusive Skottie Young Marvel Pin Series

Marvel’s SDCC booth last year was one of the hottest destination spots for limited edition Comic-Con exclusive. That is sure to continue again this year with a ton of movie tie-in releases. Thanks to MTV, we now know Marvel will be releasing an amazing San Diego Comic-Con 2015 Exclusive Skottie Young Pin Series! The Blot loves a good cloisonne pin and these look freaking amazing! Just hoping I can find someone to snag me some.

The San Diego Comic-Con 2015 Exclusive Marvel Pin Series by Skottie Young includes 28 pins in all released two ways: in 4 piece sets and in blind box mystery 2 packs. How great are the Thanos and Rocket Raccoon/Groot pins!?! Here’s what we know so far… The Skottie Young Marvel Pin 4 Piece Sets will retail for $25, while the blind box 2 Packs will retail $12.50.

But that’s not all! The SDCC Exclusive Skottie Young Nick Fury Pin will only be available as part of a pin and lanyard pack for $15, and the Ultron, Ant-Man and Vision pins will only be available in extremely limited quantities for $10 each. However, to get an opportunity to even buy Ultron, Ant-Man or Vision pins you must first make a qualifying purchase. If you spend $30 at the Marvel Shop SDCC booth you’ll be able to buy 1 of these limited edition pins, if you spend $65 you can then buy 2 pins, or spend $100 to purchase all three.

LEGO’s SDCC exclusives have become some of the hottest (and hardest to get) releases at Comic-Con, so you know fans are going to be going crazy over this 203 piece Marvel Comics set. While the Throne set is just ho-hum, The Blot’s really digging the four mini-figures that come with it! That Ultron looks so bad ass. Fans can purchase this set at the LEGO booth for $39.99 each.

Marvel x ThreeA Ultron 1/6 Scale Action Figures

The third figure in ThreeA’s epic line of Marvel 1/6 action figures has been announced, and it is the evil Ultron, the star of this summer’s biggest blockbuster Avengers: Age of Ultron! The Avengers’ archenemy became available for pre-order today online, and these figure look fantastic. The Blot loves Ashley Wood’s take on the iconic Marvel villain, which includes plated armor and illuminated details. ThreeA has released three unique Ultron colorways: the metallic silver Classic Edition, the all black Stealth Edition, and the Bambaland exclusive all white Ghost Edition.

ThreeA x Marvel Ultron 1/6 Scale Action Figure stands 13” tall, is fully poseable, including articulated fingers, and LED illuminated eyes, mouth, chest and back thrusters. All three colorways are currently available for pre-order at the Bambaland online store for $220 (including shipping). While the Ghost Edition is exclusive to Bambaland, the other two colorways are available for pre-order now at Entertainment Earth for $219.99 each here. Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron “All of You, Against All of Me!” Screen Print by Bruce Yan

Last weekend Hero Complex Gallery hosted a ridiculously awesome, officially licensed Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron Group Art Show! Since Avengers 2 opens today and all of the remaining artwork from the show is now available at the Hero Complex Gallery online store, The Blot thought I’d spotlight some of my favorite pieces still available. My favorite full team design is this very patriotic “All of you, against all of me!” screen print by Bruce Yan.

The Blot really loves this print’s animated feel, and I love all the action and movement Bruce included in its design. But what really put this movie poster over the top for me is all the Kirby krackle in its design! Seriously, every comic book inspired print should always include Kirby dots.

Tonight, in theaters all across the US, fans will be attending opening night screenings of Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron! Sadly, The Blot won’t be one of those fans. But I can’t wait to hear what everyone thinks. From all the reviews around the globe it sounds like we’ve got another Marvel blockbuster on our hands! To get you excited for the Avengers 2 screenings tonight check out these awesome international theatrical one sheet movie posters. The only thing I can’t figure out is why they made the Hulk so tiny in the poster above. Did they mistake him for Ant-Man?
