DuckTales Screen Print by Tom Whalen x Cyclops Print Works x Gallery Nucleus x Disney

Earlier this month Gallery Nucleus and Cyclops Print Works presented “An Art Tribute to Disney Television Animation”, which celebrated Disney’s TV glory days known as the Disney Afternoon! As part of this art show a number of killer, officially licensed prints were released, including this fantastic DuckTales poster by Tom Whalen! What’s great about this print is that it’s available in two editions featuring different characters.

DuckTales by Tom Whalen is a 12”x36” hand numbered 12 color screen print on Iced Silver 320 gsm paper with a spot varnish finish. This poster is available in a Magica De Spell Edition and a Flintheart Glomgold Edition. Both versions are limited to 195 pieces and retail for $75 each. There’s also a Cyclops Print Works Exclusive DuckTales 25”x36” Uncut Edition that is limited to just 23 pieces and will retail for $170. These Disney screen prints are available now at Gallery Nucleus and will be available Cyclops Print Works at 12pm PST on Thursday, March 1st.

Disney Afternoon Action Figures by Funko - DuckTales, TaleSpin, Darkwing Duck & Chip ‘n Dale Rescue Rangers!

Disney’s ‘90s cartoon block, Disney Afternoon, is back in a big way, and The Blot can’t believe it! It’s perfect timing since DuckTales is back on TV for the first time in with an all new series after 27 years. To celebrate these classic cartoons, Funko is release an epic new line of Disney Afternoon action figures! This series includes Darkwing Duck, Scrooge McDuck from DuckTales, Baloo from TaleSpin and Chip, Dale and Zipper from Chip ‘n Dale Rescue Rangers. Darkwing Duck even has a 1 in 6 black and white chase variant!

As you all know, The Blot is a HUGE fan of Disney’s 2 hour animated television programming block from the 1990s and their original series like DuckTales, TaleSpin, Darkwing Duck and Chip ‘n Dale Rescue Rangers! DuckTales Grand Jester Disney Mini Busts

If you haven’t heard already, Disney’s beloved animated series DuckTales is coming back in a huge way next year with a brand new television show scheduled to air on Disney XD. Not only that, but the series features an all-star cast that includes David Tennant as Scrooge McDuck, Danny Pudi as Huey, Ben Schwartz as Dewey, and Bobby Moynihan as Louie. How awesome does that sound!?!

To commemorate the return of one of the original Disney Afternoon television series, Enesco has released this killer new line of DuckTales Grand Jester Mini Busts! First up is the Uncle Scrooge Grand Jester 8” stone resin mini bust ($69.99), which features the duck sitting atop a treasure chest fill with gold base as Scrooge searches for more treasure with his map and cane.

Then there’s the Hewey, Dewey and Louie Grand Jester Mini Bust Set ($99.99). Each of Uncle Scrooge’s nephews feature a base of shiny gold coins and stands 4.5” tall to be in scale to Uncle Scrooge. Both DuckTales Grand Jester Mini Bust releases can be purchased at Entertainment Earth now here.

McDuck Rich Resin Figure by Chimera Studios

Chimera Studios recently dropped a sick new resin figure entitled McDuck Rich! It’s a 3.75” bootleg custom Scrooge McDuck figure hand cast in clear resin, which contains laser cut gold glitter in its body and real shredded US currency cast in its money bag. How awesome is that!?! It fits perfectly with the iconic Disney character's history.

Each figure comes packaged on a 6”x9” blister card featuring artwork by RenOne! This killer figure retailed for just $20 at the Chimera Studios online store. Unfortunately, it’s now sold out. But hopefully CS will be releasing an uncarded version very soon!

“30 Days of Jerk” Pop Culture Painting Series by Jerkface

New York artist Jerkface recently completed his epic “30 Days of Jerk” painting series. For 30 straight days throughout December and January Jerkface painted a different pop culture inspired painting. While the idea of doing a 30 day run of artwork is not original, Jerkface’s goal was to bring a fun and creative take on some legendary cartoon and comic strip characters. And boy did he! Every day The Blot made sure to visit Jerkface’s Instagram account to find out which character he used.

What’s great about “30 Days of Jerk” is how Jerkface integrated his signature Jerks into paintings with beloved characters like Oscar the Grouch, Richie Rich, Spongebob Squarepants, Futurama’s Bender, Garfield and Family Guy’s Stewie. Jerkface serious cherry picked some of the greatest characters from television cartoons, comic strips, comic books and Sesame Street. Each painting carries the same theme, and yet is so different. I’m especially blown away by Jerkface’s line work! I can’t believe how tight each painting is considering they’re painted with a brush.

Each “30 Days of Jerk” release is a 12”x12” acrylic on 1.5” canvas painting, and sold for just $300 through Jerkface’s online store. While all 30 are sold out, Jerkface is currently revisiting his most popular designs and releasing them as ultra limited edition prints! So far Jerkface has released 6 prints, each with super small run sizes of 6 or 3 pieces. These prints measure 13”x13” (including a 1” boarder), come signed and numbered, and retail for $100. Ducktales Screen Prints by JJ Hairston, Anne Benjamin, Phantom City Creative & DKNG

It’s cool that Capcom and Disney decided to upgrade the classic NES Ducktales video game we all loved as kids, but who knew it would take over the pop culture landscape like it has these past few months. And now everyone’s trying to cash in on the Ducktales resurgence! Later today (Wednesday, August 28th) at a random time Mondo will be releasing a new series of Ducktales inspired screen prints featuring designs by JJ Harrison, Anne Benjamin, Phantom City Creative and DKNG in their online store. Duckburg has never looked so good!

Ducktales by JJ Harrison is a 24"x36" hand numbered screen print. It has a limited edition run size of 240 pieces and will retail for $50.

Huey, Dewey and Louie by Anne Benjamin is an 18"x24" hand numbered Ducktales screen print. It has a limited edition run size of 160 pieces and will retail for $45.

Magica De Spell by Phantom City Creative is an 18"x24" hand numbered screen print. The Standard Edition has a limited edition run size of 140 pieces and will retail for $45, while the Variant is limited to just 75 pieces and will retail for $65.

Scrooge McDuck by DKNG is an 18"x24" hand numbered screen print. The Standard Edition has a limited edition run size of 190 pieces and will retail for $45, while the Variant has a limited edition run size of 100 pieces and will retail for $65.

Disney Afternoon Vinylmation Series 2 DuckTales 2 Pack feat Gizmoduck!

Disney has brought back its popular limited edition Disney Afternoon Vinylmation 2 packs! Series 2 kicked off on The Blot’s birthday (July 19th) with an awesome DuckTales 2 pack featuring Fenton Crackshell and his alter-ego Gizmoduck. I always loved episodes that features Duckburg’s local superhero Gizmoduck, so its exciting to see him finally get the Vinylmation treatment.

Designed by Maria Clapsis, the Disney Afternoon Vinyjmation Series 2 DuckTales 2 Pack featuring Fenton Crackshell and Gizmoduck is limited to just 1,500 sets and retails for $29.95. This set was sold exclusively at D Street at Disney World and Disneyland, as well as the Disney online store, however this release sold out almost immediately upon release.

DuckTales Screen Print by Dave Perillo

Of all the Disney Afternoon animated shows from the ‘90s, without a doubt The Blot’s favorite was DuckTales (with its spin-off Darkwing Duck a not so near second). From the catchy theme song to the expansive cast based on Disney’s expansive history, DuckTales (and Gummi Bears) kicked off an almost 10 year run of high quality afternoon animated shows. It was a highpoint in TV animation for sure! Dave Perillo takes us back to Duckburg one more time with this awesome DuckTales screen print.

DuckTales by Dave Perillo is an 18”x24” signed and numbered screen print produced by Acme Archives and Dark Ink Art. Limited to just 250 pieces, this print will debut at the D23 Expo before going on sale at the Dark Ink Art online store Friday, August 16th, at around 10am PDT for $50 each.

SDCC 2011 Exclusive Ducktales #1 8-Bit Variant Cover by Boom! Studios

One of The Blot’s favorite SDCC 2010 exclusives was the Darkwing Duck #1 variant cover which paid homage to Frank Miller’s iconic cover for The Dark Knight Returns. This year Boom! Studios is at it again with an awesome San Diego Comic-Con 2011 exclusive variant cover for its newest series, Ducktales! The Blot was a huge Ducktales fan as a kid and I spent many a night playing the Ducktales Nintendo video game. So this 8-bit variant cover definitely hits close to home.

Pick up the San Diego Comic-Con 2011 Exclusive Ducktales #1 8-Bit Variant Cover at the Boom! Studios SDCC Booth #2743 and you might just "solve a mystery or re-write history" at Comic-Con this year. The Ducktakes 8-Bit Variant Cover has a limited edition run size of 500 pieces and retails for $10 each.

Ducktales Disney Afternoon Vinylmation 2-Pack - Scrooge McDuck & Launchpad McQuack Vinyl Figures

The 2nd Disney Afternoon Vinylmation 2-pack was released earlier this month, and it features characters from my favorite Disney television series, Ducktales. The Blot still knows every word to the show’s opening theme song by heart! How in the world Ducktales, with its huge cast of characters, has not made a comeback is beyond me. Someone at Disney needs to get on this STAT!

The Ducktales Disney Afternoon Vinylmation 2-pack includes Scrooge McDuck and Launchpad McQuack, retails for $26.95 each, and has a limited edition run size of 1,000 sets. While already on sale at D-Street locations in California and Florida, The Blot has not seen this set show up at DisneyStore.com yet.
