Jungle Boogie Steven the Bat Mixed Parts Edition Vinyl Figure by Bwana Spoons

Jungle Boogie Steven the Bat Mixed Parts Edition Vinyl Figure by Bwana Spoons

Bwana Spoons’ popular Steven the Bat is back with an all new sculpt! It’s hard to believe it’s been over 10 years since the very first Steven the Bat vinyl figure was produced, which also happened to be Bwana’s first toy. Sculpted and self-produced by Bwana, this new Jungle Boogie Steven the Bat vinyl figure is now ready to travel from its home in Forest Island to your collection!

Jungle Boogie Steven the Bat Mixed Parts Edition Vinyl Figure by Bwana Spoons

For its first release, Bwana has put up a Mixed Parts Edition Jungle Boogie Steven the Bat vinyl figure for pre-order at the Gravy Toys online store for $48 each. If Bwana gets under 50 orders, he will keep the Mixed Parts Steven to 2 colors (greeny green and olive green). If he receives over 50 orders then Bwana will add in some Watermelon Swirl parts, and if he receives over 75 orders he will also order some translucent purple with gold glitter flakes parts.

Twilight Skies Steven the Bat Vinyl Figure by Bwana Spoons

Super7 - Twilight Skies Steven the Bat Vinyl Figure by Bwana Spoons

Here it is, the final Steven the Bat Monster Family scale vinyl figure from Bwana Spoons and Super7! This is the second Monster Family figure to be retired in the past year and The Blot’s not happy about it. Steven (along with the Rose Vampire) was one of the 3 original Monster Family figures and now only Holis remains. I’m honestly going to miss Bwana’s Steven the Bat…but fear not! Sources tell me another Monster Family scale figure from Bwana is already in the works! Details to come…

Before flying off into retirement, the Twilight Skies Steven the Bat is here to make one final appearance. Catch him before it's too late as he doesn't plan to stay long. Bwana Spoons's Steven the Bat is cast in clear silver vinyl with green, blue and white sprays. Pick up a Twilight Skies Steven the Bat for $35 at the Super7 online store this Thursday, February 23rd at noon PST.

Super7 SDCC 2010 Exclusive Monster Family 3-Packs

This is one of those San Diego Comic-Con releases/signings that makes The Blot really jealous of those able to attend the world’s greatest convention. Super7 has taken all of the figures from its immensely popular Monster Family toy line, including one brand new design, and will be releasing three different SDCC exclusive 3-packs of unpainted Monster Family figures in light green vinyl. I’ve got a feeling fans will be salivating to get their hands on all 9 of these unpainted figures (10 if you count Katope’s Drunk Seijin).

Super7 - Crystal Clear Blue Steven the Bat Vinyl Figure by Bwana Spoons

Bwana Spoons's Monster Family Steven the Bat rides again! This version of the Soft Crusher drummer is cast in crystal clear blue vinyl, like the rainy day releases of old. As I’m sure you’re all aware, The Blot’s a huge fan of clear vinyl, so this clear blue Steven the Bat is right up my alley. If recent Super7 Monster Family releases are any indication, this Steven the Bat is sure to sell out very quickly.

Super7 - Steven the Bat Crystal Clear Blue Vinyl Figure by Bwana Spoons
This latest incarnation of Steven the Bat takes flight on Saturday, February 27th, at 11am PST. Collectors can purchase this 4” tall vinyl figure from the Super7 online store for $30 each.

Super7’s SDCC 09 Exclusive Vinyl Figures

Super7 San Diego Comic Con 2009 LogoThe Blot was shocked when I realized yesterday that I had never blogged about one of my favorite designer toy companies, Super7. Now as readers of The Blot Says… you could probably figure out that I’m not that into kaiju vinyl and its U.S. equivalent, but I’ve always liked many of Super7’s soft vinyl creations (especially its Hooded Zombie figure). With that being said, I was still a little surprised to realize just how much of this year’s Super7 San Diego Comic Con exclusives I wanted to add to my collection. There are too many exclusives to mention here, but if you want to see them all head over to Super7’s website dedicated solely to its San Diego Comic Con 2009 exclusives.

Super7 San Diego Comic Con 2009 Exclusive Big Sal by Kathie Olivas and Brandt Peters
The one exclusive everyone seems to be talking about is Big Sal by Kathie Olivas and Brandt Peters. My favorite part about Big Sal is the fact that he is cast in clear blue vinyl, but the $25 price tag is pretty nice too. This little guy is destined to sell out fast due to Olivas and Peters’ huge fan base, so be sure to show up to their signing scheduled for Thursday at 3pm at the Super7 SDCC booth #4729 very early.

Super7 San Diego Comic Con 2009 Exclusive Monster Family Blank 3 Pack - Steven the Bat by Bwana Spoons, Holis by Le Merde & Rose Vampire by Josh Herbolsheimer
The Super7 SDCC09 exclusive I’m looking forward to the most is the Monster Family 3-pack, which includes unpainted, white figures of Steven the Bat, Holis and Rose Vampire. What’s really great about this exclusive 3-pack is that it is only being released on Saturday when each of the figures’ creators (Bwana Spoons, Le Merde and Josh Herbolsheimer respectively) will be on hand to sign and doodle away on these blank canvases. The Rose Vampire figure looks killer and I really like the new Steven the Bat mold. These three blank figures will only be sold as set for the ridiculously low price of $50 during the Monster Family signing at noon on Saturday, July 25th at the Super7 booth.

Super7 San Diego Comic Con 2009 Exclusive Jade Mongolion by L'amour Supreme
There are a slew of other really cool figures, like L’amour Supreme’s Jade Mongolion (available all four days for $65 each) and Itokin Park’s Red Devil Lucha Bear (available Friday at noon for $65 each), so head over to the Super7 San Diego Comic Con 2009 website now to check them out.

Super7 San Diego Comic Con 2009 Exclusive Red Devil Lucha Bear by Itokin Park
Also note that Super7 has scheduled most of their artists for signings at their SDCC 09 booth #4729, so collectors will definitely want to make a point of stopping by the Super7 booth at least once a day.
