Last week The Blot was excited to share with you the first two figures from this show Sons of Anarchy’s Clay Marrow and Breaking Bad’s Walter White (seen here). Well thanks to Task, I now have four more figures to share with you!

“As Seen On TV” Solo Custom Art Show by Task One - Curb Your Enthusiasm Larry David Custom Munny Vinyl Figure

In the show’s official flyer you can see Task’s Dexter Munny from the popular Showtime show Dexter. Then there’s Omar Little from HBO’s The Wire, Larry David from HBO’s Curb Your Enthusiasm, and Frank Reynolds (Danny DeVito) from FX’ It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia. All of these shows are instant classics and each figure looks spot on don’t you think? Task really knocked this show theme out of the park.

Weeds Season 5 Premieres Tonight

The Blot’s never talked about Showtime’s Weeds before here on The Blot Says..., but it’s not because I don’t love the half hour comedy. In fact, it’s one of Aly’s and my favorite shows. The problem is we still don’t have Showtime even though it has definitely surpassed HBO with the quality of its original programming. You can’t talk about great television nowadays without discussing Showtime’s Dexter, Weeds, Californication, The Tudors, United States of Tara and even its newest show, Nurse Jackie.

Weeds Season 5 Promo Television Poster
Since we don’t have Showtime, we’re forced to watch Weeds on DVD and end up always being a season behind. So while everyone else will starting Season 5 tonight, Aly and I will be starting Season 4 (or we will be once we rent/purchase the Weeds Season 4 DVD box set). If you do have Showtime make sure you tune in tonight for the season premiere of Weeds, and if you don’t then check out Season 1 on DVD. You definitely won’t be sorry you did.

Weeds Season 5 premieres Monday, June 8, 2009 on Showtime at 10/9c.

F.Y.I - The Blot is actually going to be out of town the rest of this week but don’t worry, I've set up some automated posts for the rest of this week. A little travel can’t keep me from commenting on the latest and greatest in pop culture!

Showtime Greenlights The Exterminators From DC Comics/Vertigo

The Exterminators Vol. 1 CoverTo be honest, I’ve never read an issue of DC Comics’ The Exterminators, which is published by DC imprint Vertigo. But I thought it was really cool when I read on The Hollywood Reporter yesterday that Showtime had agreed to produce a drama based on the Mature Readers title. (link) The Exterminators, written by Simon Oliver and art by Tony Moore, “follows the dysfunctional adventures of exterminator Henry James and his freakish supporting cast as they take on the cruel chaos of nature in the dirty corners of Los Angeles – only to stumble upon a secret that could well reverse the positions of exterminator and pest!” (link)

It was interesting to learn that Oliver’s original idea for the comic came from a failed TV pitch, so I guess it is more than a little ironic that the comic has now been picked up as a TV show. THR.com describes the Showtime version of The Exterminators as “Six Feet Under in the world of pest control,” with the show revolving “around the Bug-Be-Gone crew, an extended dysfunctional family of exterminators whose greatest enemies aren’t the insects and rodents they meet and kill on a daily basis but rather their own self doubts, vices and inner demons.” (link)

The Exterminators actually sounds pretty interesting, and while I always love to see how networks translate a comic into a flesh and blood television show, I’ll be waiting for this one to come out on DVD. I mean come on, who subscribes to Showtime anyway!?! I’m joking Dexter fans!

If you’re interested in reading Issue 1 of The Exterminators for free, you can download a PDF version of the comic from Vertigo/DC Comics here.
